This was such a delightful find! I don't even know the names of what all we ordered but my mother-in-law ordered a crepe and I ordered the tuna sandwich on the house-made focaccia bread. SO delicious! Omg just the bread alone was fantastic!!They were quick and friendly. Prices were good. Atmosphere was relaxed and nice. The blueberry muffin was juicy and not too sweet. The other dessert that starts with an s was delicious-a croissant with ricotta cheese? I don't know but it's divine. And the tea--I don't know what it's called, but they'll know if you ask. This is a great little cafe that has excellent coffee and breakfast food. I went in for breakfast and had the Frienze crepe. A warm savory crepe with egg, spinach, and cheese. Although not overstuffed, I was very full and took about 1/4 home for later. I also took a taste of the nutella with added walnuts. Both VERY good. I'd say the nutella is 10/10 if you're into sweets. About the coffee. It was excellent. Fast. Just the right temp. Cant think of anything I would change or have this cafe improve. No table service, but this isn't that kind of place. Excellent food we had crepes, salads, and sandwiches in our group and were very impressed. Homemade with owners Italian flair, the salmon sandwich had me at hello. My 3 kids enjoyed the crepes, and my retired parents lived the Seafood salad and a prosciutto sandwich. My husband shared my sandwich and a caesar salad and we were all so impressed with the flavors. We stopped here for lunch on our drive from Pensacola to Carrabelle. It's in a strip mall and is very unassuming from the outside. We ordered three very different plates - an ahi tuna salad, a ham and cheese croissant sandwich, and a breakfast crepe - all were extremely fresh and delicious. Extremely rude owner. My brother ordered a over easy egg, they brought out a half raw egg that was sunny side up. My brother just asked them to have it flipped over on the grill to finish it and the owner comes up and with an attitude says "this is not a broken egg cafe, this is a coffee place" as if it was too hard for him to have the egg done over easy. Later, as we talked at the table amongst ourselves and mentioned something about eggs, the owner overheard us and started mumbling cuss words. Food is overrated. Whilst exploring morning cuisine in the area today, I continued my adventures at Capriccio Cafe for some coffee. This place is everything it promises to be for the coffee snobs of Northwest Florida, such as myself. The cafe is somewhat hidden just off of Highway 98 in Destin, and therefore probably does not receive near the traffic it deserves. I stepped in and glanced around, surprised by how few people were in attendance. The friendly staff and red, orange, and brown colors created a warm, welcoming vibe. I approached the counter and was amazed by the selection of things they had to offer. Not only do they have a large selection of coffee, but they also have a pretty decent Italian food menu. The manager was working the register and asked what I would like to order. Slightly overwhelmed, I was unsure. He asked what I normally order, and I told him that I normally opt for the Caramel Macchiato. "A Caramel Macchiato?" he says, "I can do that for you." I looked at him and asked with a sly smile "Will it be better than Starbucks?" His reply to me was "That word isn't even allowed here. It will definitely be better than Starbucks." I said eagerly, "Challenge accepted!" I would have ordered a plate of food as well, but I had already eaten breakfast elsewhere, however the manager was kind enough to bring me a couple of samples of tasty things to try during my visit. I took a seat and fired up my laptop. In case you were wondering, Capriccio also upholds the coffee shop standard of offering WiFi for their customers. Once my coffee was brought out, I took a long sniff and dove in. One sip of Caramel Macchiato and I was in a heaven of perfectly brewed and mixed coffee. The owner, a true Italian man, walked by and I told him that their coffee is amazing and a smile of satisfaction stretched across his face. A sat for some time surfing the internet and making small talk with the manager. I was wildly impressed with the friendly service and great coffee. Next time I visit, I plan to bring an appetite to try some of their food as well. The next time you are in Destin and thinking about going to Starbucks, don't sell yourself short - get better coffee for a more reasonable price at the Capriccio Cafe. This is easily my new favorite joint to enjoy a cup of mudd. read more

I wrote a review on this restaurant once several months ago when I first discovered it. But I realized that since my initial visit here, there is much more to be said about this special place. In my first review, I discussed the greatness of the coffee and the pleasantness of the atmosphere and things. I ended up frequenting Capriccio Café quite a bit after that, and bringing along friends every now and then. When it comes to the food that's offered here, I don't know how else to say it, it's just excellent beyond measure. I usually ordered a crêpe, and they offered a wide variety of crêpes, whether you're craving the sweet or savory. The guys loved to use me as their "test subject" and sometimes fix me things that weren't on-the-menu items. There was never one time where I was disappointed with the food. It was always delicious and high-quality. My favorite salad was the Runner Salad. It was topped with this very thinly sliced, aged beef that was just on point. And my favorite coffee to order remained to be the Caramel Machiatto, but every now and then I tried something different and was not disappointed. Everything I tried there always made my taste buds dance with joy! All of that being said, I also very much enjoyed the staff here. They are what sets this cafe apart and makes the experience here truly special. Over the duration of time that I frequented this spot, I always enjoyed socializing with the people that worked here. You couldn't ask for a better crew. Marco, the owner, is an awesome Italian man. Very kind and friendly. He greeted me with a smile every time I walked in. He would always stop and ask me how things were going. Patrick, the manager, often on the register, ended up becoming a very good friend of mine, even outside the cafe. Daniel, who was usually the cook, always made awesome food. He was very friendly and I loved chatting with him about anything. They were such great people and always made me feel so welcome. But more than that, I really did come to regard them as friends. Capriccio Café became my weekend sanctuary to unwind, chat with friends, and escape the rest of the world. It breaks my heart that I had to move away, but who knows, maybe I'll talk them into opening an establishment in Northern California! This place lives up to the five star reviews. The staff is very welcoming and the food is fresh (my #1 priority). I had a spicy red latte which was cinnamon and red velvet flavored. It had fresh whipped cream on top. For someone who dislikes straight coffee, this was perfect. My coworkers had regular coffee and were plenty happy with the morning roast.
