Celebrated a special birthday at this restaurant last night. The staff were great and very welcoming. Very nice ambiance and atmosphere. The food was excellent. The table bread and oil was a great start. We ordered a side of meatballs and caprese salad for appetizers. Both good. My entree was seafood pasta that was on point and a good portion of food. Prices were reasonable for a nice place.

So good!! I have the lobster ravioli, the smoked salmon bruschetta, and the escargot starter. Also ordered a bottle of the Riesling which was so good. I was impressed. I will go back everytime I'm in destiny for sure. Kid friendly but also elegant and can make a great date night. Staff was accommodating and very nice and welcoming. I do recommend making reservations.

Some of the best Italian food I have ever had. Fresh calamari, flavorful meatballs, cheesiest, meatiest lasagna ever. Nice decor and Big thanks to Virginia for excellent service.

The service was pretty good and we got seated pretty quickly on a Friday night without a reservation. The food was very good. I got the escargot for the table and was adequate. The entrees we got were tasty but did not equate to the price. The lobster ravioli were 60 dollars and there were 3 raviolis. In no way should it be that much for that. Especially when we are not land locked here. My snapper was ok just a little salty. Ambiance was nice it was very cozy inside.

We were craving some Italian and decided to place a reservation. Once we arrived our table was ready on the inside so we sat outside . The hostess was very welcoming but the manager however was not. We tried the chicken Alfredo 0/10. The chicken was fully cooked and it tasted boiled . The shrimp appetizer was baked and or should've been grilled. The service was just ok. I wouldn't recommend or return. The drinks were too syrupy. The server took my card but didn't run it and brought it back to the table. It was an odd occurrence but we went to the front to make sure we have a receipt. Thank God because it would've looked like we walked out on the check. So disappointed ! I would choose Olive Garden over this place!

    Grouper and risotto

We picked up food and ate back at condo. It was fantastic!! Highly recommend kids didn't want to get dressed and go out, so happy they wanted Italian tonight! Had the grouper and risotto so rich! Meatballs were amazing

Wonderful Italian restaurant. Started with some specialty Martinis and Negronis followed by a Caprese appetizer. Our entrees included Gamberi Veneziana and Veal Parmigiano. Some may complain about the prices but the entree sizes were huge. Casual dining with an upscale ambience. Staff (Roza) were friendly, helpful, 5 star service. Ask about their specials. Too full for dessert but we will get that on return visit. Didn't see any children in the restaurant but the menu showed child plates. My only suggestion would be not charging for pre-dinner bread, and offering some kind of happy hour discount for cocktails between 5-6:00PM.

We tried this restaurant for the first time for dinner. It's quite busy so make reservations in advance. The place itself is not very big from the inside. We sat inside and they have outdoor patio with heaters as well. They have many servers because I saw that every table was occupied pretty quickly, and the place is kept clean including the bathroom. We started with their calamari and escargot. Both were delicious. There was a wait on the bread because I think they make it fresh so that took some time. But it was pretty good - nice and warm. Everything from complimentary bread to appetizers was delicious. For entrees, we ordered their chicken parm and eggplant parm. Surprisingly the eggplant parm was much better than the chicken parm. The flavor was great including their sauce and spaghetti but the chicken itself was hard to chew. Maybe it was overcooked or not fresh. It could be better. See photos of the food below. Our total was $125 for everything below (no alcoholic drinks). We only ordered Pellegrino. Overall I would come back to try other things on the menu. Our server was nice and sweet. She was attentive and no complaints from the service. Food arrived on time. They just need to make sure the meat is cooked right. That's all.

Ok. I've been patronizing Skipper's for as long as it's been in business...even before I had a…read moretaste for shrimp. I even have a t-shirt I wear proudly in my home town. Like many things here in Destin over the last few years, change is abrupt and frustrating. And for this review I don't mean ownership...I've continued patronizing since the original Skipper sold out and still love the shrimp and tuna dip there--and the folks helping behind the counter. I will typically visit 4 to 5 times during a break here to ensure we always have fresh, local, steamed shrimp in the fridge...it doesn't last long. And Skipper's has always had the best. But my first visit this summer really bothered me. After an honestly strange interaction with the young man handling the counter--seemed he couldn't interpret the questions I was asking about sizes, though I was being somewhat comic (I was happy to be getting my first batch of the summer!)--I chose my size and weight and requested it to be steamed with cajun seasoning, my usual. He then told me it would cost $5 to steam. I was floored. Again, how many years I can't even count that I've followed a routine of hitting Skipper's, grabbing a couple pounds and a tuna dip, request the steam, pay, leave the tuna dip on ice, head to Winn Dixie for a couple items, return in 10 mins to pick up the steaming hot shrimp, and head back to the condo to enjoy the best shrimp in the world. Never have I been charged to steam. So I asked the guy behind the counter when they started charging. His reponse? "We always have." I asked how long is "always" to him. He said since he'd been working there. I asked how long that has been. He said "about 8 months." Well, little did he know I had just followed my routine in April and was not charged for steaming. And I followed it several times in November as well with no charge. At the very least get the story and justification straight. It's enough to see the new credit card transaction charges on everything in Destin now (pre-tax, btw). This is just another hit. And I get it...small businesses have it tough, no doubt. And I will always support small businesses...as long as they make me feel good. This young man did not. And one more thing to add here...unfortunately another criticisim. On our next visit a few days later (can't give up the shrimp, and there really is no better...though there's a spot closer to Destin that may compete I've learned), my wife followed my routine while I was golfing. When I arrived back home, she was almost embarrassed to tell me that the steamed shrimp had come with butter and lemon...without notice. And I mean a Southern serving of butter...a pool of it in the tin container. We absolutely prefer our shrimp seasoned only (cajun, not old bay). Period. Adding a ton of butter with no check for preference or confirmation of a practice a new patron or old would never know was default (albeit, in the last few years the folks behind the counter would know me so knew how I liked it, which I also cherish) is just a straight up failure of service to me. I will say we drained the butter and saved it as it was tasty as heck on toasted bread, but not with our traditional shrimp enjoyment. Whenever I meet a new tourist to this area no matter where that may be--the geographic breadth of folks visiting here is amazing the last few years--I ALWAYS recommend Skippers fresh shrimp and tuna dip. I even did so with a family we met in the Austin airport on the way here headed to their first vacation in Miramar Beach and happened to be staying right across from Skipper's on old 98. I even bragged about how Skipper's steams it for you right on the spot. I surely hope they were asked if they wanted butter and lemon.
