Went here two days before Christmas 2024 on whim for some good Italian food. While I can appreciate this place feeling homemade and kind of a classic early 2000s vibe/aesthetic. The food here for me was just middle of the road. Good but nothing to write home to mom about it. What did stand out was our waiter was extremely attentive and very kind. Saturday 6/8/24 3:30pm Im craving a meatball sub so I did what I do and "yelped" the nearest Italian restaurant. Capriccios popped up so here I am! Walked in to a pretty quiet restaurant but it's 3:30 so that's the calm before the storm in the restaurant business. I was told I could sit anywhere and they pretty much had seating as soon as you walk in and then down a few stairs had some extra seating. I sat downstairs. I ordered a meatball sub and a Diet Coke in the bottle. The restaurant is definitely family-friendly and clean. The waitress was very nice. She checked up on me several times, I appreciate it. Meatball Sub came out shortly after and it was very good. I would go back and get another one! Check them out they had good ratings on yelp so I can concur. read more

I ordered door dash. I enjoyed the amount of food you receive with their reasonable price. I ordered the cheesesteak sub with fries, onion rings and chicken wings. Everything tasted mid. Just, it is what it is. I ordered fried food with a side of fried food. The flavor is what you'd expect as if everything was bought from restaurant depot and put together. So I would say if you're in the mood to eat a lot of fried food and not have to buy and heat up the frozen food from the grocery store, this place will do it for you. read more

Capriccios makes one of top pizzas in the Richmond area. The restaurant is comparable to some of the good Italian trattorias in the New Jersey area. Which makes sense since I believe the owners are from NY/NJ. The dining area has been recently expanded and upgraded recently which makes a pleasant dining experience. Service is usually on par and friendly while greeting you immediately. The booths and tables are spaced nicely and are comfortable. You really can't go wrong when ordering any menu item as everything I ever ordered was a generous portion and delicious. Oh my goodness, fabulous. Hubby and I are in town for the afternoon and came in, and were immediately treated like family. The food is fabulous, the pizza is delish. My ancient review of this place is both outdated and unwarranted, and an update has been overdue for a long time. I really love everything I've tried from Capriccios, especially their cheese pizza, ceasar salad, and Italian hoagie. It feels so much like a Jersey pizzeria inside and the staff has been great on each of my visits. One time a date ordered takeout Italian hoagies from them and they unfortunately were hot. So even though they're under the cold sandwich items, it's definitely worth it to specify cold. All told, I'm glad Capriccios is around and it's always nice to have a taste of "home" nearby. read more

Service was great. Pick-up order and was greeted upon coming in. I think people dining should not have to see people standing and waiting for their pick-up order or being close to the waitresses bringing food items to tables. The pizza was good. I could have used more pepperoni. On the pick up order I thought it was odd to have to order a cheese pizza and add toppings that cost and don't have the option for the standard pepperoni pizza. It was a good pizza but not worth $30 for a medium pepperoni. For us northerners looking for a good pizza I do recommend but request for extra toppings. This has been our favorite Pizza Place for years! The interior is reminiscent of both Italy and Brooklyn, New York and much of the work was done by the owner himself. The food is always delicious and the servings are large. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. read more

We order from Capriccios almost weekly. Their pizza and subs are delicious especially if you enjoy NY Style pizza. The sauce is sweet and spicy and the cheese and bread are perfect! 3.5 stars, but I'll definitely go back! I thought the pizza was really good, especially the old fashioned on the cauliflower crust. So crispy! The caprese didn't seem very fresh - hard, unripe tomatoes and just so-so mozzarella. Our waitress was very friendly but it did take a loooong time to get our check, which was a little frustrating. The food here is fantastic!! After seeing so many people rave about their pizza, I had to get that. And it did not disappoint. We got a pepperoni pizza, on the menu it's listed as 'gourmet pizza'. A little heads up, *all* of their pizza is NY style! :) and some of the best NY style pizza I have had outside of New York! We also got spaghetti with meat sauce, which comes with a salad and bread. Tbh the spaghetti was a bit underwhelming, it didn't dazzle me as expected. The salad was good. The bread that came with it, however, was pretty of lackluster. We got caramel cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert. And both of these were phenomenal! I especially liked the tiramisu, they did a really good job with that. The service was quick and friendly. I called ahead of time and the staff was super helpful with answering questions I had. The restaurant itself is classic little Italian restaurant atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit! read more

I really want to love this place, but they're a little hit and miss. Some days it's the best local pizza and some days it's really not at all worth the visit. The problem may be who is in the kitchen on that particular day. On good days, the pizzas are well cooked with yummy, plentiful toppings. On bad days, the pizza is undercooked, gummy, with burned crust edges--despite being undercooked, with an inconsistent amount and dispersal of toppings. Salads are good, love the fried mushrooms, calamari, and garlic knots. And when it's a good day, you can't beat that pepperoni pizza! The sauce is wonderful, so flavorful! We have ordered pizzas from here (take out) several times during the pandemic. They are pretty good overall - nice crust, toppings supplied in good quality and average quantity. Wife always asks if a pizza joint can cook the pie well done, and Capriccios does this willingly -- they even have pulled the pie from the oven and shown it to me to see if I want them to cook it longer. Very thoughtful. They also serve pizza by the slice which we really appreciate when running errands in the afternoon. Their sandwiches are generous and tasty. We can't wait to be able to sit down inside comfortably and add Capriccio's to our regular dining rotation. read more

I'm originally from NJ ..... so I know pizza! And this place is legit NY style pizza. We had the Greek and the Buffalo pizzas this time but have had the old standards too (pepperoni, sausage etc). Consistently good, beautifully distributed toppings so you get some of everything in each bite. Some of the other reviews complained about their cheese sliding to one side of the pizza- duh, put it in the trunk where it's flat and not on the car seat at an angle! My partner came here to celebrate Father's Day. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were given the option to seat ourselves. The server, Summer, had an amazing attitude and was extremely helpful and pleasant. She assisted with each part of our order, and had excellent recommendations. She's a wonderful up-seller. We got the calamari, with the marinara and the Thai sauce. Very tasty. Then she recommended the old fashioned pizza. It's basically a regular pie with dollops of sauce on top. We've heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try! We ordered a pizza, fries and wings. The fries weren't that good, the wings were too salty but the pizza was delicious. It was satisfying yet it wasn't greasy or made you feel sick after eating too many slices. The only issue we had was we ordered the deluxe but asked to have the pepperoni removed on it and they didn't. I would definitely come back for the pizza but would skip the appetizers! read more

The restaurant is decorated very nicely - it's larger than I expected. The toasted ravioli - it was good with marinara sauce. The pizza dough and crust on our two pizzas were good but the toppings of the bbq chicken pizza were not as fresh as expected. The owners seem very polite and friendly but the waitresses were short when we asked things and did not seem like they wanted to be in front of house - many times when we needed something they were taking in the back with the cook. read more

I returned recently to try their pizza and gotta say, it's authentic NY style.
