I was super excited to hear about a tapas stall opening in Optimist Hall! We stopped by Marina's Tapas on opening day because we were too excited to try it! The staff were super nice and helpful when we were trying to decide on what to order. We ended up ordering the Albondigas, Tortilla Espanola, Croquetas, Patatas Bravas, and the Calamares Fritos. 5 tapas was a good amount for two! And spending $60 on tapas for two is a great price IMO. The food was delicious! The standout favorite was the Croquetas, but all the other dishes we ordered were great as well. I am looking forward to returning and trying more items!

One was a small side Caesar salad which I got. I was disappointed in the continuing practice for restaurants to charge for small changes like this within informing the customer. Waitress was very nice, however and attentive. What is also quite unique about the restaurant was that you could order small 4 oz beers, just for tasting at $2-3 each. The place is quite large and must get incredibly noisy at times with the hard surfaces and multiple TVs. There is an option to sit directly at the bar or at tables.

If you are looking for recommendations, I highly suggest trying: The Meatballs: A fantastic twist on a classic, served in a delicious lemon dill sauce instead of a typical marinara. The Sliders: Perfect pulled pork paired with fried green tomatoes and a tangy horseradish sauce. They also feature a highly creative and unique cocktail menu. Two of my personal standouts are the Beetle Juice, which incorporates fresh beet juice, and The Fishbone, which brilliantly highlights their house-made aquavit. Overall, it's a wonderful spot for a great atmosphere and an inventive menu!

The wine selection is impressive and they have great cocktails, typically seasonal rotating options as well. I enjoyed the caviar and chips option, flatbread pizza, and brussels. The drawback to this location is parking can be difficult, so plan accordingly for your arrival time in case you have to search for street parking.

When I walked in the server was very attentive, asked what kind of wine I normally like and what entrée I was planning on ordering to help make the best wine recommendations! When I told him I was planning on ordering the gnocchi, he made three different recommendations and allowed us to taste all three prior to making a glass selection! Wine was great + we definitely enjoyed the server's pairings. I would skip the food though! Gnocchi was mushy, tasteless and definitely was not appealing. We asked the server to surprise us for the second entree and the server stated the lamb was the most popular so we were expecting lamb but somehow ended up with salmon. The salmon was not great either as it was not seasoned. It is very vibey and good for a date night or a place to grab a drink. I would just get drinks though- food was not good.

I got crab rangoons for my appetizers. They were good but a lot more breading than I would like. My meal was the chicken and waffles. Boneless chicken for chicken and waffles is always a negative for me because it's not my thing. They were also thighs too which I wasn't expecting. The waffle itself was good and came with a hot honey type of syrup. I had to get more syrup because it wasn't enough for the portion size in my opinion. The food was not bad by any means, but my expectations were higher.

It can be hard to find if you are coming in from the main street as it is located inside a building that has other restaurants and stores inside. But it is rather spacious inside with lovely minimalistic and neutral vibes. The service was pretty great as we were given recommendations and our water was continuously refilled. My friends and I got the Crab Brik, Wagyu Burger, Shakshuka, and Avocado Toast. The Crab Brik came in little triangular wontons that were fried to perfection. I think real crab meat was used which is always nice. There was some aioli on the plate, but certainly not enough to dip with meal in. The Avocado Toast was recommended by our server and it was a top tier choice! It had chili dukka on it so everything from the eggs, sourdough bread, and avocados tasted very seasoned, despite the dish sounding a bit plain. They do not skimp out on the avocado here. My friend said the Wagyu Burger tasted good and I tried the Shakshuka (for the first time in my life) which tasted very tomato-y but still yummy with the bread! I think this is a cute place, especially for brunch. I would rate this place 4.5/5 stars if I could. I want to come back and try their dinner menu which has more food options.

The lounge is Beautiful and very chill with great DJs and music. The vibe was sexy and the music wasn't too loud. Our waitress was just as beautiful as the lounge. Her name is Shay she was attentive and kept checking on us as our party grew in size. Most of us were not drinking alcohol and just having mocktails or juice. I had a Caesar salad and pineapple juice. I might say that the salad was presented well and delicious. I wasn't really hungry, but I wanted to patronize the restaurant and order something. This is a place that I will come back to alone or with a group again. I felt very comfortable and I was impressed with Shay's customer service. The waitress that was training Shay was very nice as well. There was a guy doing fire shows and blowing fire. He was talented and very nice. There was also a guy that came around selling flowers, but for some reason, he didn't stop at our table. I didn't feel like I was in Charlotte. I felt like I was in Vegas or Miami! Medusa is a hidden gem in Charlotte.
