When you realize that the salad menu does not include basics like fresh peppers or cucumbers you start to question whether or not it's time to leave. We were hungry and just decided to stay. Definitely NOT a place to get a salad. I also ordered a classic Italian grilled. A grilled sandwich should not be served on an Untoasted or ungrilled cold roll. Get a sub to share as we did. Unless you are incredibly hungry! These are feeling hoagie. It is busy at this location and seating is limited. Social distancing is almost impossible for this location. Recommend regular checks of soda dispenser, since customers can sometimes be so sloppy and ruin its cleanliness for the next customer. There seems to be lots of carryout, and we ate outside. I ordered the Hot Bobbie, which came with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce on a hoagie bun. I have heard people rave about this sandwich, so I had to give it a try myself. Stopped in for a quick lunch before heading to nearby Longwood Gardens. Opted for the smallest size of the Bobbie (basically Thanksgiving dinner on a sub roll!) Really, really good and quite large for the smallest of the four sub sizes. I had never been to Capriotti's before, but would like to have had my sandwich heated or toasted (not even sure that is an option.) I would definitely recommend this sandwich! I ordered delivery on their website - they use door-dash, they don't even check your order before they let the door-dash driver leave their establishment. They refunded a portion of my order, said oh well, not their problem that door-dash didn't pick up my entire food order and that they don't feel they have any obligation to correct their mistake. I never leave reviews but this experience was so awful I feel like it's a public service. First, the place is dirty, really dirty. It's run down too but I get that renovations during COVID would have been tough. The manager was sitting at a table yelling at the staff including that they should throw out all the meatballs at the end of the day, right after my son ordered a meatball sub right next to her. It took 25 minutes to get two sandwiches and a salad because it's so disorganized they just forgot. When my son opened his sandwich at home, there were several hairs inside the wrapping. This is a standard Capriotti's shop; nothing exciting or different as compared to all the others. It's basic inside, but the food is good! My family loves the Capriotti's turkey sub, since it has the shredded turkey. It's delicious! We recently placed a big takeout order. It was ready within 30 minutes. We ordered our subs with turkey, cheese, and lettuce, then got the tomato, pickles, peppers, onion, oil, and mayo on the side. This worked well because then everyone got whatever toppings they prefer. Also, it keeps the bread from getting soggy if it sits in the fridge for a couple hours. They package the toppings up really nicely, which makes it easy to serve buffet-style. read more

Caps for me was this super high standard type of place when it was small time in Wilmington DE. There are now caps everywhere! Great for them and the sandwich is still pretty good. I am just not sold on the extra bells and whistles that seems to be standard width most things these days let alone sand which shops. Technology, it can be a a game changer in the proper application....however if the execution isn't right it's all for not. Caps app is pretty cool, ordered up and paid. ETA for sandwich completion was 18 minutes as the app informed me. Perfect, ran to the store grab a few things we needed for the house and headed over to the store. I actually hurried over since it had been 20 minutes already and my wife get hangry you know. So I arrived and the ordered actually wasn't ready for another 20 minutes more than double the time. I was visiting my hometown and wanted a good sandwich, and my sandwich was excellent. The poor review is for the lack of cleanliness and service. It was like there was no adult supervision of the teenage employees. I visited on a Sunday at 3pm and the restaurant was not busy. One teen employee was on break and eating at a table and another was working the grill. After standing at the counter for 2 minutes the grill cook apologized and went into the back and found 2 other employees. One took my order and I went to sit down but of the 10 open tables none were clean. I'm a sloppy guy so I'm not nitpicking, I can dust off a few crumbs and be fine but I mean they were pretty gross, sticky, and with wet food drippings. I asked the teen female at the counter if someone could clean a table. She asked "which one?" to which I replied, "Whatever one you clean, I'll sit there." She gave her squeeze bottle a few squirts and two cursory wipes with a rag and went back into the back room, leaving the other 9 tables still gross - including the table formerly occupied by the other teen employee who was now finished and left his table dirty. Waiting for my order the grill cook noticed the man at the table beside me had 1" of soda remaining in his soda bottle and no food. He was waiting on a cold sandwich that never arrived. So the grill cook went into the back again to pull other employees out to make that guy's sandwich and my sandwich. So the food was good, but when I see such questionable clenliness on the customer side of the counter I get really concerned about what I don't see in the back. Hello, I'm a food delivery driver and was sent to Capriotti's for a order to pickup and deliver. I just finished a delivery and it took me 10 minutes to get to Capriotti's and when i got inside the lady said it would be a few minutes and that they were shorted staffed. As a delivery driver you make you money on how many delivery's you make. I said ok and stood over to the side watching the lady keep taking orders for walk in customers and then put the food slip on the rack to be made. I noticed the rack had 3 delivery orders on it when the lady was finished taking orders she started to make the sandwich's of the people that just ordered and ignored the delivery slips. I saw 1 man ask for his money back for drinks that he didn't want and after 5 minutes of waiting just walk out the door. another delivery driver came in and ask if his was ready and the rude lady said not it will be a few minutes when the driver ask if she had a time frame and she NO, so the driver just walked out the door. So I'm in the store 10 minutes when I ask again when they were going to start to make the delivery orders when the rude lady said we are short staffed, I must of heard " were short staffed " about 5 times from the lady during my wait in the store. Another delivery drivers comes into the store and asked and is told a few minutes when i said to him its going to be a while because they put the delivery's on the back burner when the lady said to me don't talk bad about the store and that i could go outside and she would bring me the food. I waited a total of 15 minutes and already had a delivery that needed to be made from Applebee's. I just had to cancel the delivery for Capriotti's and I'm sorry to the customer that didn't get the food they ordered. That old rude lady need customer service training and the store should made the orders in the order they come into the store. read more
