I really wanted to love this BBQ spot, but unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to the hype for me. First off, the service was excellent. The cashier was friendly and made some great suggestions, which I really appreciated. As for the food, it was a bit hit or miss. The chili cheese fries were the standout flavorful, hearty, and honestly the best thing we had. The pulled pork sandwich was the better sandwich, the flavor had more depth and was much more enjoyable. The brisket sandwich, however, was disappointing. The Tri Tip did have the same flavor but it wasn't roasting hot like it used to be. The rolls were dry. The Cole slaw wasn't fresh. As far as the food goes, I got a ton of food for about 120 bucks. I got barbecued ribs, barbecued chicken and barbecued beef. All of the meats were delicious. The ribs fell off the bone and the sauce compliments them well. The barbecued chicken was good as well. Not as tender as the ribs but still good. The barbecued beef is shredded and it goes very well on the rolls, which accompany all of the combos. I put a little coleslaw on top of the meat in the sandwich and it really complimented the flavor. For our other sides, we had barbecued beans, fries, macaroni and cheese and potato salad. I didn't taste the potato salad, but I was told it was very good. I liked the coleslaw very much, the macaroni and cheese was OK. The kids liked macaroni and cheese. I feel like I got a great deal and the food left over was happily enjoyed the next day. read more

I asked if the beef ribs where the big ones she said yes so I ordered them, you get 3 bones but normal beef ribs not the dinosaur ribs, for $28.50 that was what I was expecting. She said the potato salad was homemade, could have been but no flavor, came with a second side & I ordered baked beans (watery) definitely not homemade tasted like pork n' beans. The ribs were not good. Looked and tasted like they were a couple days old. No flavoring had to use BBQ Sauce. The server said they were smoked, I asked what kind of wood and she didn't know. Ended up being apple wood which is ok, but I had no smoke ring or smoke flavor. Also came with a bread roll, not fresh and hard. My coworkers got baby back ribs and the other pulled pork sandwich. No one like the food. The coworker with the ribs took it Togo, by the time we got back to work he said it smelled bad and threw it away. We were looking for a bbq spot and this establishment os what he found. With the name like that you can't go wrong right ! Wrong! Hoggs is located in the shopping center with Tj max and bev mo, it's closed to the pie restaurant. Walking in it seemed like a good place, people was eating there food, tv was on and you also had people waiting for there food as well. The nice guy took our order, since it was my first time there I wanted to be safe and ordered the sliders chicken and beef, my bae ordered the ribs with sides. The food came out in good timing, my sliders looked dry and when lifting my bun the chicken or beef it did not look like it was made with care. My bae ribs came out and you can the heat coming off of them but I'm not sure how, because the grill that was behind the counter you can see was not being used, so all I can think of is what microwave did they used. They gave him pinto beans and corn for the sides. Pinto beans threw me off. Needless to say he wasn't not to thrill on the taste nor the look of his food. The bbq sauce that's provided was ok at best, a little kick too is. Overall I'm glade we experienced this location, the people was nice, just there food was not good. Not good. The pork ribs and beef ribs tasted terrible. They were very dry and had an odd taste lacking of any bbq or smoky flavor. They told me that all their sides were homemade but unfortunately the potato salad had a creamy texture and was overly seasoned that masked the taste of traditional potato salad. The full meals are overpriced for counter-ordered food served on paper plates with plastic utensils and a tip is expected. We could have gone to a full-service restaurant for what we paid here.
