San and Nary. Wonderful people and they make an awesome sandwich too!

It's about 1:30 on a Friday afternoon and the wife and I are heading out to La Quinta to celebrate her birthday. We are both starving to death and I can't wait until we get there. We are on the 10 Freeway heading east in Moreno Valley...I grab my phone, jump on my Yelp app and plug in SANDWICHES. Answer: Quik Stop Subs I didn't know where it was in relation to the freeway so you will have to trek another 5 minutes further than you want to but believe me it's worth it. I remember first driving by a Jersey Mike's and thought we could just go there but I went with my instincts and it paid off. This place is killer! It's in a non-descript retail center. It's very clean and smells just like an Old fashion Italian sandwich shop...fresh baked bread and fresh lunch meat and cheese. We were greeted by two lovely women, San and Nary. They both are GREAT! Super friendly and boy can they make a incredible sandwich. We ordered the 9" Godfather ($13.99) with ham, capicolla, salami, roast beef, turkey, and provolone cheese plus all the extras. Excellent! The sandwich was perfectly proportion (meat/ cheese/bread), but what takes it to the next level is the freshly baked, perfectly toasted house made bread. I asked San and Nary where they got the bread and they both said in unison, "The Boss makes it." Enough said. Great place. Great people. Great sandwich. Great stop. 5-Stars!!

First timer here and I thought it was pretty delicious. The quaint mom and pop sub shop is located in a small center behind the Chevron on the corner of Cactus and Ellsworth. When you enter the establishment it's like you're going back in time with all the Marilyn Monroe and James Dean pictures. Definitely not what you would expect the decor to be when entering a sandwich shop but it works. I was brought here by a few of my co-workers who swore by this place and said it's the bread that really compliments the sandwich and boy were they right. I ordered the Godfather, because how could I not. It's the most popular sandwich and they advertise it on the outside of their establishment. I was last order and I went with the 9" sandwich, chips and a cookie. The total was about $20. I guess seemed about right. I wouldn't know because I was not given a receipt or the option to leave a tip. So ok, I stood there taking in the ambiance hoping I would know when my order would be ready. The lady came out naming the sandwiches so each of us just went with the one we ordered. Thankfully non of us ordered the same sandwich. I really wish I would have had the option to receive a receipt though. Once we got back to the office, my co-workers were a bit disappointed because they opened up their sandwich and it was not the same bread that they expected and raved about. Like I said earlier they went for the sandwich bread. There was maybe 2 of us that got the bread that they oh so loved. I will attest to this and say the bread definitely made the sandwich. It's like the perfect amount of bread to meat ratio. The perfect crunch and softness all in one. I will be returning and possibly trying a different sandwich, not because it was bad but I like options.

Went back and tried the godfather 6" sandwich. It's amazing and has a lot of flavor. Served to me warm. I walked in after work (5:40 PM) and maybe waited less than 10 minutes for my sandwich to be handed to me. I spent $14.09 for the sandwich combo. Definitely will be returning to fulfill my sandwich cravings!

Menu board [03.18.2023]. No pic of my sandwich #5 Godfather (really good). We also got the #1 Brooklyn Bridge (good).

If you ask me whether I want a soup or sandwich, I will most likely pick a sandwich. I have always loved sandwiches and can make some good ones but, if I don't feel like making one on my own, I love coming to Quik Stop Subs. Quik Stop Subs is a small "mom and pop" shop that offers a selection of hot and cold subs, salads, soup, and pasta. My go to here is The Godfather, from their Specialty Subs menu. THE GODFATHER is generously packed with ham, capicolla, salami, roast beef, turkey, and provolone cheese. I ask for "everything" in it (i.e., lettuce, tomato, red onion, pepperoncini, Italian dressing, mayo and mustard) and it's served in a delicious, slightly toasted bread. I LOVE their bread here! It has that crusty and crispy exterior, with a chewy yet fluffy center. One bite in and I'm already hooked! I've also tried THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE (ham, capicolla, salami, and provolone cheese) and it was good but not as great as The Godfather IMO. By the way, their POTATO SALAD is phenomenal!! It was so good and easily one of the top 3 potato salads I've ever had. It is unique yet comforting at the same time. It's creamy and highly addicting. I can't even replicate it if I could. You have to try it for yourself. The customer service is fantastic and it really shines. The sweet lady is always so friendly and cheerful. I can tell she really values her customers. Although it's a small shop, they actually have about half a dozen tables inside and a few unshaded patio tables outside. Inside the shop, there's a wall full of Marilyn Monroe posters, as well as James Dean. To the side, you'll even spot a Marilyn cut-out. Being so close to the March ARB, they have a wall honoring and supporting military and veterans. I love that! There's plenty of parking right in front of the shop but the lot is shared with the neighboring businesses. As mentioned earlier, they are located just north of the March ARB on Cactus and Elsworth in Moreno Valley. They are behind the Carl's Jr. in what looks like a run-down business plaza. Overall, I am a fan of Quik Stop Subs. It's a simple and welcoming shop with friendly employees and loyal customers, with a selection of fantastic subs and homemade potato salad. I highly recommend giving them a try if you're in the area. Be sure to check their business hours to make sure they're open. I hope you give Quik Stop Subs a try and that you find this shop to be a gem, too!

My ordered double dipped Big Beef Sandwich with Sweet Bell Peppers, melted Mozzarella Cheese, and Giardiniera was enormous, and after initially having my breath knocked away by the Giardiniera's overwhelming spiciness, my intestines soon settled down and I greatly enjoyed the melting concoction. The hoagie roll supporting this mammoth edifice of tender roast beef and embellishments nicely sopped up the au jus, and sank under the heat. The Chicago Dog that accompanied the Big Beef was a classic all-beef Hot Dog with a snap, rounded out with Emerald Green Relish, White Onions, Sport Peppers, and Yellow Mustard. For purists no ketchup is allowed on Chicago Dogs! Crinkle-cut French Fries added to my enjoyment of the meal. Diane liked her Fish Sandwich with a slice of American Cheese, and was especially fond of the Cheese Sauce into which she dipped her Fries.

I tried this place for the first time and was impressed by the decor. The Midwestern theme is well…read moredone and felt authentic based on my visits to the Midwest. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the atmosphere. I ordered the chili dog and fries, and for the price, I expected much better. The chili was thin and watery, lacking the hearty, meaty flavor you'd expect. It tasted more like a budget canned chili than something made fresh in-house. The hot dog itself was just okay--nothing memorable and certainly not something I would return for. Given my experience, I'm surprised by the current four-star rating. The restaurant looks great, but the food didn't match the presentation or the hype. I would recommend managing expectations before visiting. In my opinion, it's simply not as good as it looks.
