OK, so first time ever getting anything from Capriotti's. I ordered the cheesesteak. I'm someone who normally gets cheesesteaks from Jersey Mike's, I get the big kahuna so it has the mushrooms and the peppers and jalapeños. So I ordered the cheesesteak from Capriotti's the same way. I can honestly say I think it would have been way better than Jerseys Mikes, if I hadn't of ordered the hot & sweet peppers. Omgosh it was hot. And I normally order spicier wings than medium because medium is never hot enough.But this was too spicy for ME and it was my fault . I couldn't even pick out the jalapeños because they seemed to have been diced up with the meat. That's why only 4 stars. I'm sure I'll update to 5 after my next order. Which will be without the spicy. And for any brownie lovers, their Brookie is awesome! read more

Stopped in to try their Philly. I've had them in so many different places over the years. I opted to eat in. The place is clean with about a half dozen tables to dine in. My impression is that they do quite a bit of takeout. The Philly comes in four sizes, mini, small, medium, large. I went with the small (maybe 7-8 inches) and that was a good size. It was made fresh, included onions, mushrooms, and of course, cheese. I got some hot peppers on the side. It was served piping hot on a very soft roll. They did not skimp on the steak. It was very tasty and filling. Ketchup packets are available. The staff were friendly and service was quick for a fresh made sandwich. With a bag of chips, the cost was just under $15. read more

This is my favorite sandwich shop in the area! I don't know why everyone complains about it being a chain if it's good?? The service is great and pretty quick. I almost always order online and it's always ready on time. I've never gotten an incorrect order. My favorite is the hot Bobbie! It's has so much flavor and is very filling! The other sandwiches are great as well, my husband always gets the cheesesteaks. But beware, the hot peppers are HOT! I just tried the fries for the first time and the options are amazing! I got the wagyu steak fries and the toppings were delicious. The fries however, are the only thing I have to complain about. They're big but completely flat and taste like the potato was sucked right out of them. I'm not sure what kind of style this is, but I would not order the fries again because of it. If it was a nice steak fry it would be amazing. Please don't be scared away by the fact that it's a chain. It's delicious and they have great service! It is a bit pricey BUT they have great rewards! Read about their capstromi on line so decided to give it a try. First I was kind of taken back on no choice of type of roll. I found the pastrami to be a little flavorless and it tasted void of the russian dressing it was supposed to have. Way too much slaw that overwhelmed the sandwich, in other words, not worth the $27 I paid for the sandwich/drink. I can't speak for other sandwiches, or other stores, but as far as pastrami, I would not recommend this sandwich. Capriotti's is a chain, but there are only a few in Tampa Bay so far. Based on this visit and a few past ones to Silicon Valley locations, they're definitely a cut above many of their competitors. This time I had their "Capastrami," a hot pastrami topped with coleslaw. The pastrami was flavorful and tender, and the coleslaw was top notch. I'm not sure I loved the bread compared to, say, Jersey Mike's, but it may just be a different style. The service was good. The interior is a little barebones but it's not the kind of place you go to for a romantic dinner, right? I also remember their "Bobbie" turkey sandwich as being great. I'm done going here... First... this was the third time out of three times that they did not have enough meatballs to fill a large sub.... they had a problem with the POS system... they wanted to charge me over the phone for my order instead of me paying for it when I picked it up... that I guess I can understand but they would have charged me for something they couldn't provide because they didn't have enough meatballs! THEN, they TRIED to make it right by making half a meatball sandwich and half of a different sandwich and told us they weren't going to charge us... but ended up not only charging us for the large meatball sub we never got AND the half SUB they gave us. The Philly cheesesteak was absolutely delicious... until it was ruined by hard cartilage or bone 3 bites in a row... that's one thing I can't do so I wasn't able to finish my meal. The sandwiches are overpriced and, maybe it's just this location, but super disappointing. It's a shame because flavor-wise, they are decent. The interior vibe is nothing fancy. Now this is a quality sandwich shop! Hands down some of the best subs I've had in awhile. I'm vegetarian so we got that version of the "turkey" and "philly" and it hit the spot for sure. I tried this small sandwich shop for lunch while attending a training class at the YMCA down the street. I wasn't sure what to order so I went with the medium Classic Italian (Genoa salami, capocollo, prosciuttini, onions, provolone cheese, and topped with lettuce, onion and tomato) and added "fries". Whole cow, was it a huge medium sandwich, I only ate the small half and was stuffed. Now on to the fries...They were a cross between chips and fries, the small ones were thin and crispy like chips and the larger ones had a soft pillowy center like fries. What would I change for 5 stars: Way too much salt on the chip/fries and I love salt, and the other half of my sandwich couldn't be saved because it was too saucy and the soft bread turned to mush. I would definitely eat here again and probably try a cheesesteak and get those chip/fries again too! read more

Tried them out. Taste is definitely different than the other mainstream sandwich shops. Ended up with a home made turkey on white. Sandwich was nice and thick and they made it exactly like I wanted it (which means you need to point out toppings and condiments you want that aren't on the sandwich's listing,. A new shop on Northdale in a strip center across from Whole Foods is a welcome addition to the cluster of new shops in the area. Clean and bright with good food to boot. My favorites include the Cheesesteak Sandwich and the Capastrami Fries (amazing). Both were excellent. Service was quick and very friendly. Food was piping hot with steam rising off the top. We ordered 4 sandwiches and 1 salad along with 2 large fries to share. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich which was delicious. The meat was tender and tasty without being chewy at all. I had the hot peppers on it which was the perfect amount of heat. I'm not a big fries fan but they were good also. We were hesitant because it's a chain but it really impressed us. The steak cheesesteak I got was sooooo good!! I added in the hot cherry peppers which was a bit spicy but still manageable. I generally like Capriotti's. I've had it before but different location. I usually get the Italian and maybe that's what I should have done here. Instead I got the cheesesteak because it looked good on the menu. I liked the flavor of the white cheddar - I found that to be a good combination. HOWEVER, the meat was very sparse, and what there was of it was FULL OF GRISTLE. It was painfully obvious that they had bought the cheapest meat they could possibly find. I was spitting out chunks of rubbery sinew almost every bite I took. This is a brand new location. The menu has huge pictures of great looking cheesesteak sandwiches- they're obviously pushing this item. You would think that they would want to make a good impression so you'd come back. Nope. They were in full-on nickel-and-dime-your-ass with very little meat and what you do get is terrible because we're cheap bastards mode. If you do go, avoid the cheesesteak. If they're not going to try to make a good impression in their first month, I can only imagine what they'll be selling in half a year. read more

First time stopping here for dinner. It wasn't too crowded. Most people coming in were picking up to go orders. Food was really good! Had the classic cheesesteak and flat fries. Didn't wait long at all after ordering to receive the order. Food was made fresh, hot and brought to our table. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the young man behind the counter, but he was extremely nice and helpful with great customer service skills. Stumbled on this when I was looking for somewhere close to eat with my daughter. All I can say is the food is really good - had the classic cheesesteak, naked fries and my daughter had the kids meal 1/2 turkey sub. BUT THE BEST PART of this experience was definitely the service. Even though it is counter service, the young man behind the counter, Josh, that took our order was so so nice, respectful and so focused on providing great customer service - and succeeded!
