4.5 This was my first visit to the Carrollwood First Watch, although I've been to the Westshore location many times. I'm usually not big on chain restaurants, but First Watch is one of the exceptions and has become one of my favorite places for breakfast. I ordered the following: Tri-Fecta * Two cage-free eggs, ordered over easy * Multigrain pancake with maple syrup *Chicken apple sausage patties Hot coffee with half & half I was really craving a pancake that morning, and this absolutely hit the spot! It was my first time trying their multigrain pancake, and it was delicious. The chicken apple sausage was also really good, and overall the breakfast was exactly what I was in the mood for. My only small food issue was that my eggs came out over hard rather than over easy, but I still enjoyed everything. One thing I found a little surprising is that First Watch offers several specialty iced coffee options, but not really an equivalent selection for hot coffee. The regular hot coffee was good, but I would much rather have fresh half & half served on the side than the shelf-stable, single-serve containers that sit on the table. A small detail, but something I'd prefer at a sit-down breakfast restaurant. My other wish for First Watch would be more gluten-free options, especially a gluten-free pancake. I'd love to see some choices beyond primarily eggs, proteins, and potatoes. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and checked on us several times throughout the meal to make sure everything was okay. Family in town so I treated them to FW. Table of 3. I'll start with what I liked. All the produce was fresh-fruit and greens. Server was pleasant. Food was ok. Coffee was great. I love that the bogo bday certificate doesn't take off the lowest entree, but rather an average of all the meals. Nice touch that sets FW apart from other places and gets a bump in star for that. Now, the subpar. It's Sunday late morning so we know it will be busy. We call ahead (we are 5-7 minutes away) and are told there is no wait. We get there, and there is a 25 minute wait. Hostess had an attitude (probably not with us but it came across that way) and says, "sorry someone lied to you". 15 minutes later, another hostess comes out and says there are 2 tables open on the patio if anyone wants them. We tell her our name and go to the patio as instructed. They must not have taken our name off the list because we kept getting texts saying they are about to let our table go We chose a table that had not been bussed because it was the most shady of the open tables and the direct sun was hot. Someone grabbed the plates after we sat but didn't wipe the table. Server came, took our order, I asked at that time for someone to please wipe the table. She acknowledged. Sometime after she took the order but before our food came she checked in and asked if anyone has wiped the table, we said no (it was clear it was dirty due to a smear and crumbs on the table) and she said she would have someone do that. Food came and I held my plate and asked the runner to find someone to wipe the table. Busser came out in about 3 minutes. After he wiped the table, I asked him to get our server because my order was wrong. Server came out almost immediately and I let her know I was supposed to get fruit, not toast. She acknowledged and brought fruit about 5 minutes later. My greens were barely dressed, too, which is my favorite thing at FW and it's what has me crave going there. But this time, it was like eating straight spring greens (but I still ate them all because that was the healthy part). When server brought fruit, we let her know one of our orders (trifecta) was missing pancakes. She acknowledged. By the time we were all done eating, the pancakes finally came, but no syrup. That took another 5 minutes. It has been several months since we had been to FW. I think it will be a while before we try them again. read more

The food here literally never misses. Out of all the First Watch locations, this one is hands down my favorite. Every time I come in, I'm greeted right away and everyone is genuinely so nice. This time we had a pretty big group, and the staff was super welcoming and accommodating. Our server, Amaya, was the sweetest. She never made us feel rushed, checked on us often without hovering, and made sure everything came out quickly. Huge shoutout to her! Now for the food... absolutely unreal. We got the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes and I'm not even kidding, they tasted like key lime pie in pancake form. So good. I ordered the Traditional Breakfast because you really can't go wrong with it, and the potatoes are still my favorite breakfast potatoes anywhere. My mom got the Elevated Egg Sandwich and I definitely stole a few bites because it was that good. We also ordered a bunch of drinks, but they disappeared before I could even think about taking a picture. We got the Morning Meditation, the Purple Haze (my personal favorite because I'm a sucker for anything lavender), a Spiked Lavender Lemonade, and a Mimosa. Have been to both the North Dale Mabry/Tampa location as well as the St Rte 54/Odessa and, the st Rte 54/Lutz and I can attest that the food and the service are consistently excellent! I love that they offer seasonal menu options, which help keep the menu new and fresh. Speaking of fresh, the ingredients used in all their dishes are always fresh and the side salad dressing is a lemon vinaigrette that is bright and adds a wonderful note to any meal. They don't take reservations but they do use an app that allows you to get in line in advance of your arrival, which we have always had a good experience using. The food is always fresh and cooked just the way I asked. My favorite part about the Farmhouse Hash is their roasted tomatoes from Turkey. Our waitress was very sweet. In fact when I asked her about the tomatoes she made the extra effort for me and found out what First Watch uses. The food is always amazing, we've never ordered something and not enjoyed it...and we've tried a good variation of things from the menu over time. I always love their hash or skillet options, especially when there's a holiday menu out - don't skip on this! It's a popular spot and more often than not you'll see people crowded at the door or waiting for a seat, but the wait has never been excruciating enough for us to leave, the staff seems pretty on top of it. Came in for lunch with my friend. Walked in and asked to sit outside. She said to choose anywhere we wanted to sit. The only table that was shady was one that hadn't been cleaned yet. We sat at this table and waited for the hostess to come over. She came over and had an immediate attitude! She placed the menus on another table, said that she'd go get something to clean the table and walked off. We sat there for a good 5 minutes before my friend got up to go get someone and here the hostess comes out the door, almost hitting my friend with the door with no apology.
