This was my first time at a Chicken Salad Chick and and I am here for it! The BLT I ordered with the Classic Carol Chicken Salad hit the spot perfectly! There was a Chicken Salad Chick up in Tallahassee when I lived up there, but I never visited. Upon returning to Tampa, I wasn't so sure this location would survive let alone but any good, but given that it's around the corner from my home, I thought why not give it a try? First off, they have 13 (I think that's what the worker told me) different chicken salad options and they have no qualms about letting you sample the various kinds before making your decision (which is awesome). My sandwich was perfectly sized. It also came with one side and they have ample choices! I picked the Mac and cheese which was pretty standard tasting. Nothing to rave about but it's also on the kids menu so I wasn't expecting gourmet mac&cheese. My sandwich and side also came with a pickle AND a small cookie! All of that for under $12?! Almost unheard of in today's economy. I got take out on this visit but the restaurant itself is adorable and the bathrooms are clean! I look forward to returning! read more

Friends and I were in the area during a Saturday shopping trip and this place was suggested by one as an option for a quick lunch before heading home. The location is at the end of a long stretch of retail stores, and parking is close and convenient. A large covered patio has outdoor seating, but we chose to stay inside. My friends and I arrived a few minutes before noon, and this location wasn't busy. This was the first time I had ever been to this chain of restaurants, so I ordered the "Fancy Nancy" style of chicken salad on a croissant. Included in the sandwich price is a side item, and my friends recommended an extra scoop of the chicken salad. So I chose another salad scoop as a taste of another version of salad. I chose water for my drink, and was given a number for the order to place on my table for the order to be brought to the table. However the order was called out at the counter for pick up, so no "delivery to table " was performed. My sandwich was tasty, but after having experienced this for lunch not sure I would make this a permanent choice because I like chicken salad for an occasional lunch, but not regularly. My gripe with the way my total was presented for payment is that the bill includes a space for a tip. Since I was not receiving a typical restaurant service at my table, there really isn't a waiter or waitress performing that service for a tip. I ordered at the counter, retrieved my own drink, and also got my order from the counter I don't understand why a tip option is even requested. read more

The food was out super quick and our server was polite. The egg salad was like a 7/10, not mind blowing but still pretty good. Scoop of salad comes with a pickle spear, individually packed crackers, and a sugar frosted cookie. I ordered a side of fresh fruit, which I enjoyed. BUT the grapes were kinda squishy (which is expected in restaurants 9/10 times, I've never been somewhere where the grapes are crisp and crunchy ). Sitting area was spacious and they played some country pop music. There were some crumbs on the booth seats and tables in some areas, and i can only assume they simply hadn't had the time to clean those seats up yet. overall pretty fine establishment, if you like chicken you'll probably enjoy the food way more than I did (I don't eat meat lol). read more

I came here because I donated blood and they handed me a little card that stated I can get a free scoop or sandwich at this location. It was my first time coming here so I asked the young lady behind the counter which one does she suggest. I was recommended to try the spicy buffalo and it was amazing. So my wife got me into CSC since she's a big fan. I've come to like the business and the food. It's nice to have an alternative to the burger, taco, standard fast food joints out there. The menu is surprisingly extensive considering chicken salad is the core item. My favorite is the Cranberry Kelli...chicken salad with a hint of sweetness. It's a nice comb with the pickle and soup of the day (chicken florentine for me!). They are always busy during lunch so be prepared for long lines though. This is probably the one knock I have. When ordering online, you get a time provided for pickup. Generally it's 20-30 minutes after you place your order. However, it's often not ready for you when you get there. I've had to wait an additional 10 minutes everytime I've ordered online for pickup. It's not terrible, but could definitely be done better. Otherwise, this restaurant has the home town feel where if you want to take your time and have some lunch by yourself or with friends, it's a nice to place to go. I haven't eaten much in the past few days due to mental health and poor restaurant experiences so I ordered a hefty amount today- a full Fancy Nancy sandwich on toasted white bread with lettuce and a bowl of loaded baked potato soup. The soup was really hot when I got it, to the point I saw steam and had to blow on it! The sandwich was still a little cold for the salad portion which was perfect. We've learned that the pickles are a no go and have a weird texture, but everything else including the free cookie is wonderful. I have been here once before, the flavor is always delicious, but the first time I remember it being a little pricey. After ordering I was taken aback by the $12 cost at first, but then I remembered I just spent $12 at Taco Bell yesterday. $2 of that was the overpriced amazing sugar cookies they sell. First, the grape salad is definitely not a salad, but it is delicious. I would say it is more like a desert, being sweet grapes with a whipped cream sauce, brown sugar, pecans flakes. For $12 I was full and had a little of the chicken salad scoop left for a to go snack later. My only complaint is that though the crackers are also tasty, they are so flaky that you can't possibly scoop the chicken salad with them. I guess that's why they serve it with a fork. Because I stand by that the Barbie-Q is something I'll always be in the mood for. --- --- --- I've had other chicken salads from Chicken Salad Chick, but the Barbie-Q is just so perfect that it's too tough to try and work my way through the rest of the menu. Every time I visit, I go with ole' reliable. I'm happy that there's a CSC closer to my house than the USF location, but unfortunately it's only a tad closer. If they put one of these in Carrollwood, my wife and I will definitely patronize it many-a-time. As for now, it's more of an occasional treat. While the perfect side from the Barbie-Q sandwich would be a bit "carbier," the grape salad is an excellent treat to add on to your order that's sweet, but not too caloric. The manager at this location approached me and my boyfriend after paying for our food, said it showed on her end that the money did not go through (we paid with a card and the system kept giving some type of error message that showed as "decline"), but when I checked my bank statement it took the money out and showed the girl at the register that. The way she approached us was rude and loud, (embarrassing) even stopped the server who was bringing us our food. The chicken salad lacked BBQ flavor and the croissant should have been toasted. Also the croissant didn't have that light, buttery, and flaky taste. It was more like wonder bread in a croissant shape. The highlight and best part of the meal was the sugar cookie that was included. My biggest qualm was the service. There were 4 people behind the counter but not that many people in the restaurant so I assume they were bored but they were lax when I approached the counter.
