My husband is of Italian heritage and we are both from New Jersey. We went for lunch. The soup was severely thinned out. A potato and cheese soup should not have the consistency of water. The lunch menu is extremely limited. Chicken parm was okay but did not get my husbands approval. Only the manicotti was very good. The amount of wine for $9 was a joke. My husband likes a good beer. Light beer amounts to a bad accompaniment for a mediocre meal. The bread was not Italian but looked like a small tasteless bagels with oily margarine. And now the decor. New Jersey Italian restaurants have ambience. This restaurant is coldly decorated in black. No Chianti wine bottles wrapped in baskets with candles no flowers. Too expensive. We had an all around great experience. Some may consider the cost on the high side, but the quality of the food definitely justifies the cost. The Lobster Ravioli was just WOW! AGAIN, no real sauce to visualize on my pasta or plate. What is up with the DRY pasta dishes?!?! I have been to Italy many times & experienced phenomenal Italian pasta all over the country & unfortunately I would rate this one at the bottom of my list. I feel sad that as a business owner I have to rate this restaurant 2 stars. My top priority is to stay 100% honest regarding my personal experience. The good news my waitress was extremely professional and cordial. She did a great job at hearing the feedback while maintaining a good disposition throughout our dinner. She doesn't own the restaurant so her feedback was "the chef will charge you." She was doing what she was told - can't blame her there. My husband enjoyed his salmon piccata- he rated it a 7! However they did it with a smile and everyone got service. Wait time issues. * 7 open tables * 4 people ahead of us * 23 minutes to get seated * 8 minutes before a server came over To be clear. The servers worked their asses off. They carried the entire experience. Food. Caesar Salad - 0/10. Came out in 7 minutes. Worst Caesar salad I have seen. Wrong ingredients. Bad dressing. No excuse, fix it or don't offer it anymore. Red Pepper Potato Soup - 8/10. Came out in 7 minutes. Creamy, Hot, Full of flavor! This surprised me in a good way. Bruschetta. $12. 7/10 - Came out in 12 minutes. Bread was perfect. Flavor was solid, but the Toppings were light. At $12 you expect more on the plate, at $7 or $8 this would feel right. Chicken Alfredo. $22. 6/10. Came out in 26 minutes. Sauce and noodles were good, Heavy garlic and it was delicious.Chicken missed hard; Dry, Bland, No seasoning. Sausage and Pepper Parmigiana. $22. 7/10. Came out in 26 minutes. Best main dish by far. Good flavor, Noodles cooked right. Needed more salt and this could have been perfect. Cannoli. $8. 7/10.Expensive but good, Crispy shell. Tangy rich filling. Best cannoli in Kentucky. Bottom line, I would bring my family here over any chain in town. No question. Once they clean up the service flow, train the host better, and tighten execution, this place has serious potential. Capri's has the ability to become the Italian spot in Etown. Worst food for the price in human history. I ordered salmon. It came on a larger plate of cheap, disgusting noodles drowning in some weird, watery liquid. They served it with a spoon. There is nothing Italian about the restaurant beyond the name. It is basically an Applebees pretending to be something else. Don't get me wrong. I used to frequent Applebees for years as I lived in different places ever few months for my job. I am not belittling the franchise. I am saying this restaurant charges high prices for basic food that looks like and tastes like it was cooked by cheap labor. NOTE: The people in this town including the workers at this restaurant are very charming and pleasant. I have nothing against people I met here and enjoyed every encounter. Go find another, less expensive place to eat. In case you're wondering am I just someone who hates to spend money, I take my wife to $120 meals and we recently SHARED a $300 meal at the NOMI in Chicago with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. We went this past Friday, and had a long wait time- it also was dinner time so it was expected to have to wait. They also are fairly new and we noticed that there were somethings to be worked out, for a better experience but there's grace to be given. It was a little loud, and crowded just because of how busy they were. But I still enjoyed my time there with my family. The bruschetta was delicious, we felt like it needed more of the toppings. The mushroom soup was delicious along with the rolls. I got the penne bolognese and it was outstanding! For dessert I got the lemon cello cake and it was amazing as well! We will be back! read more

Friends, we visited this wonderful place two weeks ago. WOW, the location is hard to find but worth every second. It is a smaller venue, well decorated in a minimalist style. The service is out-of-this-world perfect. The food is off the charts, great. I asked about the company and found out they are the same people who own a sister restaurant in Glasgow, KY, named Napoli's, which I have been to many times and have always given five stars. These folks are doing it right. The wine list, while not extensive, is perfect for food pairings. It was not just great is was perfect. Tried Capri's Italian Restaurant, newly opened in town, and overall had a great experience. We started with the cheesy bread, which was highly recommended, but it didn't quite live up to the hype. While it was crispy and well coated, it wasn't worth the $8 especially since the free warm dinner rolls were actually better. We also weren't offered the garlic oil dipping sauce others have mentioned. The salad wasn't anything impressive. General bagged salad with limited choices of dressings (Caesar, Italian, Ranch, and Thousand Island). Service was attentive, though our waiter was very soft-spoken and hard to hear at times. The entrees were the highlight. The Shrimp Fra Diavolo was excellent; perfect level of heat, large juicy shrimp, and a very generous portion (plenty of leftovers). Only wish the shrimp tails were removed. The Chicken Parmigiana was also a win: tender, well-seasoned, and served with spaghetti and marinara. Dessert options weren't offered, which was a missed opportunity I would've gladly taken something to go. That said, Capri's is a welcome addition to the city. Cozy space, no wait for a 5pm weeknight dinner, and food that's already right on track for a new restaurant. We'll definitely be back and look forward to bringing friends and family. read more

Stopped in with a party of 4 and had an awesome meal. We ordered the Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Alfredo, cheesy garlic bread, and the mussels in the white wine sauce. Everything was delicious. The food came out fast, was hot, and every dish was really good. Our server Bardi was excellent and Friendly and he made great recommendations. The service was really quick. I was extremely disappointed in my experience at Capris. My daughter & I went on Tuesday for lunch. She had a friend that said she had eaten there 9 times last month & it was so good. We ordered the bruschetta & the chicken fettuccini alfredo with the roasted red bell pepper soup. The service was prompt & the restaurant was clean. There were only 2 other tables of diners in there at the time. We were brought some very hard rolls that were not warmed at all. Our bruschetta arrived, loaded with balsamic glaze but it hardly had any toppings on it (one tomato chunk & a shred of cheese). Our "soup" as it was described was more like a broth, very thin & watery, although it did have good flavor. Then when our meal came, although the serving size for lunch was appropriate, there was not a smidgen of seasoning on our food. The chicken had no color & tasted like it was boiled & then placed on top of the fettuccini. There was also no salt used in the water to prepare the fettuccini, totally a tasteless meal. This place was very good. My wife had shrimp scampi, the shrimp were big and delicious. The sauce had a lemony taste to it. She also had a cannoli, she sad it was the best she has had.
