Came my first time with a friend, and to meet some more friends here. We weren't sure what to order and didn't know it was a mostly beer bar. The bartender was really nice to let us try a small shot before ordering. We ended getting the "Faith No Smores", and that hit the right spot for me. The place is really nice and cozy. They have seating like you do at cafe's, and also a long bench in the center where group's can hang out. This is a great spot. They have 12 beers on tap, lots of rare and/or local beers. I've met 2 of the bartenders, Brian and Jeff. Both those guys know their beers. And they were both very friendly. I enjoyed sitting at the bar talking about beer and baseball. Helps if you're an A's fan but they are cool if you love the Giants. Lots of delicious bottled beers. All types. Awesome new craft beer spot. They have I think 12 taps, and minus 1 or 2 that are more widely available craft beer, the rest were all local beer in the Bay Area which is awesome including 2 taps from Altamont in Livermore. It's always good to see local businesses supporting each other. Also have a fridge of bottles that you can buy and either take home or have them open for you there. For the more extreme beer geek, like myself, you can take bottles and have bottle shares there too. The owners are knowledgable craft beer guys, and you can tell genuinely care about the customers and the craft community. Outside food is allowed and encouraged. An awesome laid back taproom, Caps & Taps is a great addition to Dublin serving up a well chosen selection of craft beer on draft and by the bottle. The folk here focus primarily on CA brews with offerings from Anchor, Altamont, Sierra Nevada and North Coast just to name a handful. Though the place is a bit of a ways out for me, it'll definitely be a regular stop for me in the future whenever I'm in the area. read more

A little tucked away under an apartment complex, but once located a great find. Came here after work for a few beers with a friend. Not super packed around 4 so easy to grab a seat. Great collection of craft beers, and reasonably priced. Chill music playing in the background as well. Good selection of bottled beers in the back. There was even a corner dedicated to more beers in addition to the stocked fridge. Super chill spot! Love that we have something like this in our neighborhood. Like others have mentioned before, you can bring in your own eats to grub on while sippin' your beer. I also like the fact that they have a flight as an option. You get to pick four of the beers that they have on tap. They have 4 bench picnic tables, a stand up area, and seats at the main bar. The place is not that big, perfect if you'd like to stop in and have beer or two. They do have a flat screen TV, so hopefully your favorite Bay Area team is selected so you can catch a game. I agree with some reviewers that the staff here is not welcoming and a bit cold. Perhaps they even profile people that come here. They do have good selection but not enough to keep me from coming back. Caps & Taps is a true brew-lover's haven, where you can literally get stuck for hours whether you brought good company or not (cuz there is always some there) talking beer, sports, or whatever nonsense you're into. It's a very chill atmosphere to try a wall full of beer varieties that are always changing, making Deja Vu only something you experience at BJ's. And don't get me started on the bar managers. Split 2 tasters with my Dad and enjoyed most of the beers. But at $11 per flight of 4 samples, the price seemed very steep, even for the East Bay.
