I love their food. I can't eat seafood and there is still a good selection for me. My family loves the seafood, especially the crab legs.

Although the restaurant was clean, the food was completely over priced. I get it's all you can eat crab legs but that's all you're paying for because the rest of the food was below average. There aren't many restaurants within a short walking distance to our hotel so we decided to give Capt Jack's a shot. The dinner price is pretty steep but the menu sounded OK so we went for it. The "sirloin steak" was in a pan, not off the grill. The texture was weird. The salad bar was tiny. The coleslaw wasn't great. My teenaged son didn't even finish the chicken tenders. What teen does that? Capt Jack's has one thing going for it: crab legs. I get that this is the reason for the high price bit unless you're like Mr. Creosote for crab legs, your money is better spent elsewhere. This place is a fast food, very expensive, seafood restaurant. There is a lady that monitors to see who had crab legs and who didn't. The waiter was very nice and very attentive. We have 7 people in our party, 4 adults and 3 kids. We all were wanting crab legs and a different array of foods. So we decided to try this out. The crab legs were small, and were either over cooked or not cooked enough. The rest of the food had no taste or wasn't very good. I believe we wasted more food than we ate because it just wasn't good. Which is sad for the $300 we spent there and left still pretty hungry. The mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese were pretty decent though. We went to Billy's oyster bar and spent what we spent at Capt. Honestly, GC is probably a notch or maybe 2 above this place. (I have only attempted one Golden Corral in my 47 years) Upon entering: We were greeted by some nice young ladies. There are 2 adult options for eating here. $59.99 for all you can eat buffet and Crab Legs or $39.99 for the buffet and no crab legs. Children under 3 eat for free I believe. It is $9.95 for kids 4-12(?). The hostess did not ask our party of 5 (my husband, myself, our son, his wife and 4 yr old grandson) who was eating crab legs and who wasn't. They just sat us. My husband asked our waiter how they keep up with who is eating crab legs and who isn't. The waiter told us he watches to see who gets them and who doesn't. My husband sat next to our adult son who wanted crab legs along with his wife. We opted for no crab legs. When our waiter brought our check our total was $132 (for the 2 of us). Our waiter had charged us for crab legs. We told him about the mistake and he said Im pretty sure you got crab legs. After a short back and forth he changed it. The waiter was real nice but they definitely need a system in place to keep up with which option a customer chooses. Not that I care what they do because I don't plan on EVER eating there again. On to the food: When we got up and walked to the buffet and I saw the food I wanted to run. All of the sides looked as if they had been sitting under the heat lamps all day. I am not a power eater nor is my husband so to justify the $39.99 per person cost we tried to focus on the seafood items. My first and only plate consisted of 1 chicken tender, 4 coconut shrimp, a dozen popcorn shrimp, some fried clams and 2 stuffed crabs. The fried clams were cold and tasted like they had been there all day. The chicken tender was a frozen tender and awful. The coconut shrimp were greasy and stuffed crab which was frozen was over cooked and horrible. The popcorn shrimp was actually edible. My husband brought us a piece of sirloin which we were able to choke down with steak sauce. When my husband got up to get the steak sauce my son said, well we know the steak is no good if he's getting steak sauce. My grandson ate a total of 2 hush puppies and 1 cupcake which cost my son $9.95. His bill was just over $143 for the 3 of them. Save yourselves and your pocketbook from this tourist trap! read more

The only reason this place is getting a 2, is because the crab legs were good. Let me start by saving my kids are both under 5, and they wanted to charge 20 dollars per kid for them to eat crab legs. Mind you, my kids maybe would eat 2 pieces max. So we opted out of that, because that is literally highway robbery. I could understand if they are bigger but they are little and barley even ate. Second, everything on the buffet looked like it had been there for hours. The steak was literally a hockey puck. Which is the only thing other then coconut shrimp that I was looking forward too. All the crawfish were brown and slimy like they had also been left out and not properly cleaned. We went at 7pm on a Friday night and there were maybe 5 other families in the entire restaurant, which should have been red flag number 1. Our server was pretty good, we did have to ask for a refill once or twice. If you literally only want crab legs, and no other eatable food this is a great fit for you. I however do not eat crab legs, and wasn't willing to pay 40 extra dollars for my little kids to eat a little bit of crab meat was not a good experience at all. Would have been better off going to one of the nicer restaurants after spending 140.00 for 4 people to eat. Which I literally ended up eating a salad. We will not be back. Great place to get crab legs for the price. Good food. I also appreciate the fact that they don't coat their seafood with seasoning. Seasoning seafood is common in the south, but I find that it turns the flavor of the meat into the seasoning. It's not necessary. This is not something we do in the northwest, preferring the flavor of good seafood with lemon and or butter to loads of salt. read more

Do not come - tourist trap- save your money!!!! The price per person of this buffet is NOT equivalent to the standards of most buffets. Paying $50 per person, we expected a grand buffet but instead saw a small area of food that fit 10 people at a time. Thought the food must be worth it anyway but it tasted like food that was frozen and microwaved and prepackaged. Cafeteria style. This place was close to horrible. The food options were weren't too great for price of 39.95 without crab legs. Just about everything was maybe warm. Their rolls were straight cold, the oranges were warmer than the rolls. If you aren't eating enough to fed 6 people the you aren't getting your money worth. Our service was ok, we asked for a few things many different times that we never got. The ambiance isn't anything special at all. Definitely needs renovations. This place was most certainly not worth 300 dollars for 6 adults and 1 kid without getting crab legs. There are many more options here in PCB that are better than this place. If you want LOTS OF CRAB this the place to go. It is very small and it is $49.95 for adults. So go hungry to get your moneys worth. It is a buffet so you know what to expect. I do not really do not like buffets. With that disclaimer, I have to say the buffet is decent the crab legs are really fresh and worth the steep price. Next to the crab legs, I liked the coconut shrimp. My only complaint was the butter is really bad. The second time, we went we had to bring real butter (we added garlic to make it better). The AC was turned up really high so they wanted you to eat fast and get out. However the best part was the crab legs so check it out! We are staying in Navarre and wanted to eat at a Seafood Buffet. This was the closest one! We drove 2 hrs, and Im Super Glad we did! Staff was Very Friendly and Attentive! Food was EXCELLENT! Good Atmosphere! Definitely for the Seafood Lovers! Not a whole lot for others. The CRAB LEGS WERE FRESH, JUICY, AND TASTY! Not disappointed! My daughters and I loved it!! Get there EARLY! Not much parking and it gets super busy! We went at 5:30 and didn't sit down until 6:30 and that was with them opening at 3:30. There were a bunch of people when we left at 8:30 waiting! Just know your paying for lots of food not quality food. There were so many options but everything I got was not very good. We mostly came for the crab legs but were disappointed in them. This place has a 4 star crab leg buffet but everything else is 2 stars or less. If you're interested in anything other than crab legs you need to go somewhere else or you'll be very disappointed and upset that you paid $40 for an $8 meal. With that being said, the crab legs were ok. I've had much better. Some were soggy and very salty. So were soggy and bland. Others were pretty good. Since it's all you can eat I didn't bother with the clusters that weren't good. I just tossed them on the scrap plate and got more. Some of the legs didn't break clean and the meat got stuck. Again, tossed them and got more. If I wanted crab legs I might go back. Or I might try a different place, but most all you can eat seafood buffets with crab legs are about the same. I always go to Captain Jacks while on vacation. Went there last night and was sorely disappointed to discover they have downgraded their crab legs. They were once enormous and now they are the same size you'd find at much cheaper buffets. Additionally, they have always been "serve yourself ", but not anymore. This is not a COVID measure, as everything but the crab legs is self-serve. It's a cost cutting measure. I understand business, but for the price, they just lost mine. read more
