We came here for my friend's birthday dinner and of course I was excited, I love seafood! I'd checked the menu to contemplate choices (I hate inconveniencing others). The staff was professional and efficient with all functionsof service. We were seat once everyone had arrived and were given menus. Everything was good until she asked if we had allergies..... pork. She flips my menu over and stated I could only order the fried foods. They cook everything together, sausage seafood etc, in her words, cross-contamination. I was crushed! Im so glad my friends were distracted. Lost on what to get, I asked for a recommendation and went with the wing basket, while the rest of the table did the 3lb boil with a calamari basket. The boils comes out very fast, fry baskets about 10min longer. The food was fresh, hot, but lightly seasoned (the wings). I requested ranch for the wings, they didnt have any. There was a spicy mayo to dip but it wasnt my cup of tea. As long as the birthday girl had fun, thats all that counts. Im grateful the server asked about allergies. Saved me a trip to the emergency room.

Uhmmmm Def don't think we got 1.5 lbs of shrimp as ordered. The only one we liked was the shrimp ... Crawfish live one wasn't available, not in season, we tried the frozen one and it was not good. Snow Crab was also not good. Overall mediocre experience.

Cute seafood boil place. The food was good, but there was not enough sauce. They boil the seafood separately and then mix the sauce separately, so the sauce isn't incorporated into the meaty parts of the seafood. So there's not enough sauce and the meat is bland without sauce, but if you want more sauce to purchase more sauce. I think it's kind of crazy that you have to pay for more sauce despite already paying 300$ for 4 seafood choices. We didn't really interact with the staff, all they did for us was take a order, then throw all the food on the table, and we never saw them again until it was time to pay but no bad experiences with them.

Sorry if I got carried away, but the food was too good to photograph. By the time I realized I had not taken a picture of the well made and flavorful dishes, everything was already gone. Word of advice, try to visit during the week and go early if you can, or make a reservation. They do accept walk ins, but it gets crowded very fast. My mom and I met up for a full seafood feast and got there around 1pm. At that time it was pretty quiet, mostly people having lunch. The food came out in about 15 to 20 minutes, hot and perfectly cooked. The waitress was incredibly sweet and very helpful. The menu is solid. They offer combos if you do not want to build your own bag, and many of those come with one to three free sides. Most seafood is sold by the pound, including shrimp with or without heads and a variety of crab legs. They also have lunch specials and soup. And just to be clear, the portions here are generous. The drink menu is pretty standard, but I did notice some colorful drinks served in pouches. They also offer beer, wine by the glass or bottle, and soda. No dessert options if that matters to you. The space itself is big, open, and very clean, with both a lower level and an upstairs dining area. Overall, everything about this place was great. If you are craving good seafood and attentive service, this is definitely worth a visit.

Cap't Loui is a great spot if you're craving a seafood boil. Oysters were fresh and large. Fish and chips were solid, especially the cajun fries. The seafood boil was the main event. We ordered 4 lbs and still had leftovers. Snow crab, ugly crab, head-on shrimp, and mussels were my favorites. Being able to order seafood by half pound makes it easy to try a few things. The Cap't Loui sauce is really good -- even the mild version has a lot of flavor. Dessert portions are huge. The beignet and funnel cake fries both come with ice cream, so sharing is a good idea. Lots of seating and great for groups. Expect to get messy.

I was craving a small seafood boil for lunch and decided to treat myself at Cap't Loui, where I spotted their fantastic $20 lunch special. I ordered the EZ-peel large shrimp and mussels covered in their medium-spicy signature Cap't Loui sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. The seafood was incredibly fresh, which is always the most important factor for me, and the house sauce had a perfect, satisfying kick of heat that made it the absolute right choice. For my side, I chose the garlic noodles; they were decent, though they could have used just a bit more salt and a stronger punch of flavor to really stand out. Ultimately, I left feeling incredibly full and content. It was a wonderful, fresh meal at a great price point, and I already can't wait to go back soon!

My friend and I have been craving a seafood boil, so we made a reservation for a Saturday night a few days ahead. Thank goodness we did, when I checked in for the reservation the hostess was telling walk ins the wait was roughly an hour since they were completely booked. The menu states two different seasonings- lemon pepper and Cap't Loui Cajun seasoning, but they actually offer garlic butter too for those that can't handle spicy. I got the whole crab with half lb shrimp with Cap't loui seasoning spicy added extra side of potato and corn and sweet potato fries. Split between two this was the perfect amount for my friend and I. The spicy was a really good flavor until the end of the bag which is when it burned for me. Too bad the combo deal for the free sides is only if it's one bag. Little bit of a bummer since otherwise we did order 2lbs just one of us couldn't handle any spice. The crab was steaming hot and so delicious, easy enough to take apart but we did have to ask to crackers. I definitely will be coming back when I need my fix again.

Amazing food and atmosphere, would definitely come here again. The service was fantastic.

Wow! Great location in the heart of Korean Town on W. 32nd St betw Bway / 5th near all transportation: Trains, D, N, R, Q, Path trains, then 2 blocks over near A, E , C - #2, 3 trains exit on 34th St / Herald Square. Ok, it's a Seafood Boil: , , , & Fisherman's Combo w/ seasoned fries or lemon pepper noodles etc. Delicious! Price is affordable, u get a lot for ur money & spacious dining in most seats, but if u choose the booth like we did & u have a bit of a tummy like my friend it may be a bit snug. Lol However, it was our 1st time there, so we made the best of it. Our waitress kinda abandoned us & we had to look for her several times. Even other waiters assisted us; not fair bc later she got the tip for doing nothing she had a bit of an attitude. Valentine's Day was the next day so idk ‍ if she got dumped by her boyfriend, but why take it out on us. We repeatedly said it's our 1st time you'd think she would want us to return. She didn't even say thanks for coming when we left other waiters did. Her behavior was odd for a waitress. So, they lost 1 point bc of her attitude & abandonment. If not I'd given them 5 star . If ur allergic, like me bring ur EpiPen bc she said they do cross contaminate & can't guarantee anything. I ran to Korean market next door for Benadryl just in case. Ohhh ohh, if u have a large group of like 15 + ppl u can book the upstairs but u must give them notice. So, if u have like a birthday , or anniversary party etc have @ it. Good food, & clean venue. Ok, other than that I recommend this spot!

I came here after lunch plans next door failed. I'm glad this was still offering the lunch special even though it was close to 3pm (the lunch special is available weekdays until 3pm). I got the Seafood Boiler lunch with includes 2 seafoods, 1 side, 1 sauce and you can choose your spice level. I got clams and crawfish with garlic noodles, the capt loui sauce and mild spice. They provide you with gloves and an apron so you can feel confident digging in without being too messy. There are also sinks by the bathroom with lotion and hair ties, which is quite thoughtful. Not sure what I was expecting with the garlic noodles - maybe more Asian style noodles - but it was basically spaghetti with butter and garlic powder .There was a good amount of seafood for the price. I also got the funnel cake fries, but wished I got the beignets. The fries were very oily - but I guess the beignets could possibly be the same. Upon entering, there's a big lobby area with a bench against the window. There are cartoon depictions of various seafood items on the wall which was very cute. It felt they were a bit understaffed as they took a while to get through seating all the customers - all one by one even though the interior had plenty of empty seats.

Delicious seafood boil in ktown. Their Cap Loui sauce is one of the best. Heaps of garlic yet not too much overpowering. Seafood is fresh and well seasoned. If you order 4lbs, you will get unlimited garlic noodles too. Service is quick and efficient. It is conveniently located in ktown, easily accessible. The vibe is great with relaxed decoration and music.

Came in with a big group wanting to get away from the crowds. We made a reservation and they quickly got us seated. We took a long time to decide what we wanted but the waiters were very helpful in leading us to the right direction! We ended up with 6lbs of food!! Everything tastes AMAZING! The shrimp was SPECTACULAR. And the spicy flavor was *chefs kiss* The bill was hefty, but expected for NYC and Seafood. Highly recommend!

Maybe it would have been better to try one of their entrees, such as kimchi jambalaya. They finished off the meal with complimentary yakult, which I loved. The first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was. It's a smaller space, but everything was spotless. Our hostess was incredibly friendly and seemed to be doing it all seating guests, making cocktails, checking in on tables, and even folding napkins and prepping utensils for the next customers. She never missed a beat. Since it was Restaurant Week, they were offering a $60 seafood boil special that included an appetizer, a boil, and dessert. My date and I decided to share everything, so we ordered the Cajun spaghetti and the Restaurant Week boil, adding a whole lobster for an extra $20. We also ordered drinks. I had the Raspberry Martini, and he had the Clawlatta, their take on a piña colada. Both cocktails were beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. Even though there were only two of us, our waiter pulled another table over so we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the full seafood boil experience. It was a thoughtful touch that we appreciated. The Cajun spaghetti came out first, and it was delicious. It had a rich, flavorful sauce with a nice kick of spice that lingered at the end without being overwhelming. Then... came the BOIL!! I ordered the garlic butter seasoning with mild spice. The bag arrived piping hot, filled with plenty of shrimp, the whole lobster, potatoes, and lots of flavorful buttery broth. Everything was fresh, hot, and seasoned perfectly. It was messy in the best way and absolutely delicious. When we first arrived, there was only one other occupied table. By the time we left, the restaurant had filled up with several larger groups, yet the service and attention to us, was consistent. Every dish came out hot and savory, the hostess and waiter remained attentive throughout our meal, our water glasses were never empty, and the overall hospitality was excellent. Including drinks, the lobster upgrade, tax, and tip, our total came to about $175 for two people. Considering the quality of the food, generous portions, drinks, and outstanding service, I thought it was well worth it. I would definitely come back.

Amazing food, vibe and service!…read more Since I knew we would be in the city Sunday and would probably want to brunch before the concert that night, I looked up a bunch of places and this one kept catching my eye. We almost wouldn't have been able to go because I waited until that day to make reservations and it seemed like they were all booked up. But luckily, my boyfriend had a great idea to call to see if anything was available. Although I was only communicating with an automated system/ai rep, it was able to find reservations for 1:45. We took it and it was worth the wait! This is a very cute spot in Tribeca. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted, checked in for our reservation and seated immediately. Walking up, there is a little outdoor covered seating section that is set on the street next to the sidewalk. Inside, there was a jazz trio performing to the right when you first walk in. As we headed and got to our seats, we saw that behind the bar/counter seating they had the flattop cooking station so you could see the chefs preparing all the food; the bar was also in that area. We knew beforehand about the unlimited drinks option so we of course went with that - $36/person and had like 4 different brunch drink options you can rotate through over the 90 minutes. Our server came over pretty quickly to introduce herself and get our initial order. I was hoping to try out the Biscuits & Cajun Crab Gravy but they ran out of biscuits, so I ended up ordering the Chicken & Beignets instead. Boyfriend went with the Shrimp and Tasso Country Grits. Omg... Everything was delicious! Chicken had the perfect crisp and cook, beignets baked just right so they were soft and well complimented with the blueberry compote. And I had a bit of the grits - so creamy, perfect texture with a unique yet satisfying flavor with the sauce. Could kind of taste the coffee but also felt like there was something like a hint of curry or something in that red sauce - it was very good! Highly recommend checking this place out (make reservations for the weekend!). Because there are more things on this menu we would want to try, we said we have to try to come back very soon

Once seated at our table we ordered appetizers, crab dip & pretzel bites, and the muffuletta flatbread - presentation, size, flavor 10/10 delicious. Entrees - blackened Sesame Salmon was just okay and dry. Crispy roasted French chicken, didn't have any flavor - the chicken was just okay, the green beans had bacon in it that tasted overcooked, I almost didn't recognize that it was bacon. There was no cream, fat, or richness to these entrees that I expected to get from a New Orleans styled restaurant. The appetizers were better than the entrees. There was no weight, or layered flavors to the dishes. I almost feel like this was more of the restaurant catering to the audience, instead of staying true to what it was designed for. As the time passed the environment became less alluring and felt more like a chain - the music was some awful top 10 If the restaurant stayed true to the website it could have been the cutest experience to stumble upon. I got the shrimp, potato, and corn boil. It was soooo garlicky and yummy. The price was right, and…read moreit was a good amount of food. Service was okay, however the restaurant does get packed so pick a good time to go! Thank you all for your hard work and delicious seafood boils!

After the longest debate and with no other option close by, my colleague and I finally decided to…read moregive them a try since the reviews seemed promising. I ordered the 1lb shrimp, head on, mild garlic butter while my colleague ordered the 1lb crawfish, spicy juicy. I liked how it came in buckets. Too bad they only gave us one pair of gloves though. At our office, we work through lunch instead of having a set lunch break so that becomes twice as inconvenient. I have always been loyal to the garlic butter regardless of where I go so I did not know what to expect when I got a taste of my colleague's sauce. It was sour, spicy, salty, a lot going on at once. It was not bad but it was not my cup of tea. My own sauce on the other hand, was only flavored by salt and garlic. There was no butter flavor going on at all. Kind of disappointing. I really appreciated the amount of garlic though. My bucket was interesting because I found that my middle layer of shrimp had the same sauce as my coworker. Overall flavor profile was just salty though. They put way too much salt. As for the seafood itself, I would say it was ok. There was only a handful that did not seem all too fresh. The rest was alright. Would I order from them again? Sure. But only when I'm really craving seafood boil with no time to travel the distance for something else.

More like 0.8 lb. We peel the shrimp ourselves. The lack of shell (and water between meat) reduces the weight
