Washington DC (Foggy Bottom) - man, I'm not even a sweets person, but I loved the ice cream & cookies here! There are 8 cookie flavors and 8 ice cream flavors, from which you can customize ice cream sandwiches, or pair with milk or soda, or opt for a shake. I had "the duo" and chose lemon crunch ice cream with a confetti cookie. The lemon ice cream is creamy and has such a great flavor and satisfying crunch, while the cookie is soft and chewy like cookie dough. Both were excellent treats in their own right. I was pretty stuffed after dinner so didn't finish all of it and put some in the freezer...took it out later and enjoyed the cookie just as much with a harder chewy texture. Whether you're looking to quell those munchies or are just craving something sweet and comforting, simple classic pleasures like milk & cookies or root beer floats never go out of style!

Intro: So my Wife is a huge cookie fan and we are trying every cookie spot in the NoVA. We finally tried this place and man it did not disappoint. Decor: Sadly this was probably the worst aspect of it. I totally understand its a small place and in a college town to student dont really care much. But still decor is part of the experience. Food Breakdown: We got a Chocolate Chip, Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter. And Overall they were all solid! I love insomnia cookie but I think the place just beat it out. But the real crime is that THEY DO NOT WARM UP THE COOKIE, they need to get this option and I know they will have much more business Portion Size: Overall good for the price but because its in DC I wish the price was alittle cheaper Service: Was ok, the guy was tired because it was near closing so I can't blame him but still wish he was alittle more nice. Would I go Back: For sure!

We had a delicious after-dinner treat here and it hit the spot! The two ladies working behind the counter were incredibly kind and let us sample before making our selection. I got a peanut butter cookie with salted caramel ice cream and thought it was very good! Next time I would want to try the cookie with milk.

If looking for dessert in DC, this is the place to go. Can't go wrong with the best of both world's cookies and ice cream. Service is great and fast.

I ordered one of each type of cookie with my granddaughter, and to be honest, every single one tasted the exact same-- very bland, a bit of a gluten free vibe. I ate them all because I am a hefty, (admittedly) greedy man. I ordered a milkshake as well and found it to taste like I was simply imagining the taste of a milkshake, rather than actually having the indulgent mid week treat I desired. The only redeeming factor was the employees unbelievably kind demeanor. She should be promoted if you ask me, but then again, who am I to say? -- Dr. McGee, PhD of Food Science

I was visiting with my partner. Staff barely wanted to acknowledge a large group ready to order and we felt rushed to pick what to get. Not many ice cream flavors as you'd think they would have. We ordered the cookie sandwich chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream. A classic, but the cookies weren't anything special. The ice cream was solid. Not a place you'd want to sit down and it's not very inviting either. The coolest part were the spoons that changed colors, other than that it's over priced and I would say to go get a sweet treat elsewhere.

Came here at about 7:45 and the worker said that he was trying to close for his break but let us order? So pretty good service. The shop was super small but pretty cool. I understand why everyone wants to go here, it was so delicious! The cookie was gooey and the ice cream was so creamy and it was the perfect combo (I got the duo). Definitely coming back!

Wasn't familiar with the area so didn't realize this was actually inside Western Market. There is no signage to indicate that it's Captain Cookie from the inside. There were only 2 employees working when we went, wasn't impressed with the customer service or the food. We got the strawberry ice cream sandwich and it was too gooey, meaning the cookie was soft but the ice cream wasn't hard. The ice cream sandwich itself was meh, could barely taste the strawberry.

Small place I had a taste for something sweet, and I remembered seeing this place when walking around. They had a decent amount of cookie flavors + 3 kinds of ice cream. A couple in front of me got the ice cream sandwhich, and I saw how huge it was! As a result, I opted for the open face, which is just 1 cookie plus scoop of ice cream. Just the right amount. Plus, then I could eat with a spoon and not make a mess!!

Always great to have a spot that is open late when you have a sweet tooth. They had about 8 different cookies to pick from and very good prices. The cookies were really good. We got the half dozen cookies with a variety of flavors. We also got the ice cream. I had the butter pecan ice cream. It was more butter than pecan. Extra sweet too. Not like others I have had.

Good cookies but nothing special - it's your standard array of 6-8 cookies without any real standout flavors. The double chocolate chip cookie was good but a thinner than I prefer. Not a bad stop for a late night cookie craving but it also wouldn't be my first choice - which is a shame since I love the name!

A short jaunt the hotel and squarely in downtown, it's an all things cobbler themed spot. Kids got Mac and cheese with meat, plus a mini cobbler, and my better half and I shared a "biscuit cobbler" - which was effectively a delicious biscuit over top a thick soup. It was solidly in the pretty good category. A little cold in the middle but it filled me up. The biscuits were excellent - like Bojangles good (Biscuit connoisseurs will feel that!). The Mac and cheese was good and the cobblers were solid. The mini cobbler was like $2 and came as part of a combo. Get that - enough to get a good taste, but not massive. The banana pudding (the bourbon walnut specifically) was the show stopper for me. I'm sure it's gonna box, but it was really good! The woman helping us was very nice and got us served and fed quickly. Not an every day spot, but an, I'm walking by and feeling like dessert at 2 pm sort of spot for sure!

When I stopped by, it was raining heavy, but the walk from the metro was totally worth it. I stepped inside, heard some great R&B jams playing, and I made my way to work that amazing smell was coming from. Along the way, I passed some cute merch -- insulated bags and more. And then there was a freezer with all of their pints, ice cream sandwiches, and ice cream cakes. I got up to where the scoops are being served, and there was a very helpful sign next to it with all of the descriptions. I appreciate it the thorough breakdown of what has allergens, what has dairy, and what is vegan. I pretty much tried everything. My favorites were the vegan ones (spiced peanut crunch, tamarind spice), the spiced date cake, saffron pistachio, mangos & cream, black forest... I could keep going. I split a generous scoop of the spiced date cake & saffron pistachio and it was divine. I could've gotten some cool toppings too, but decided not to. It was $8 as is XD. It's definitely a splurge, but a unique flavor profile like this I think it's totally worth it. The pints are $12, which also isn't bad for something this unique imo. I'll be back to get some pints. It's awesome that it's in Brooklyn too, so my sister can explore it as well.

I've been a few times since opening, and I think it's fine, but it doesn't live up to expectations. I've found the soft serve to be better than the hard ice cream, but it almost has too creamy of a texture. The yogurt soft serve flavor with cardamom was the best thing I've tasted there. I had absolutely no plans on buying or eating cake that day, but as a cake lover stuff happens. It was such a cute building the pastries had to be everything! It turned out to be the perfect stop. 1. The looks The building itself is so cute on the outside, and being a fan of the color pink, it instantly caught my attention. Inside, it feels less like a fast, high volume bakery and more like an intimate cake boutique. It gives small town where the owners know you by your first name. You can feel that real love was put into the space and the baking. Tasted like every ingredient was hand mixed, every cake hand frosted, and every cookie carefully hand scooped. They even served my slice of coconut cake on a real plate, which was such a cute, bourgeois touch that I loved. 2. Service The hospitality here is top-notch. On my first visit, yes you heard me! Lol! The gentleman Eric who rang me up was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different cookie and cake flavors. I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. The young lady told me her daughter loves the carrot cake as well and Mikaela said they started working there because they loved the patties so much! 3. The Cakes -Coconut Cake: This slice was so delicious, fluffy, and airy that it instantly reminded me of being a kid at holiday family meals with a fresh coconut cake on the table. -Carrot Cake: It was everything you want a carrot cake to be. It was nice and dense yet soft, with a pleasant texture from the added fruits. Definitely noticed pineapple bits! The cream cheese frosting wasn't overly thick and was so good you could eat it completely by itself. -Strawberry Cupcakes: I stole a small bite of my son's. unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The frosting had a little chemical taste to it but it was a super cute cupcake. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! If you are in the DC area or planning a trip there soon, check this spot out. It truly feels like a mom and pop or pop and pop boutique. Not a bakery but a BOUTIQUE! Check them out! Tell them Anisha from Milwaukee sent you! (Not that they'd remember it just sounds cute!)
