This was an online order for delivery. Honestly haven't eaten here in approximately 40 years . I looked over the menu and saw lobster rolls. The rolls had a little crunch . When I initially looked I wonder if it was tuna it wasn't, I saw celery pieces in the ground filling . The lobster rolls were decent . With the rolls I selected steam broccoli for my side . The other meal purchased is called deluxe seafood platter. 2 fish fillets , six shrimps, 2 stuffed crab shells , two sides mine were fries , steam broccoli and hushpuppies. Haven't eaten here in a several months but on today's visit, the food was very tasty. Ordered from the drive-thru. Fish was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. OK it has been a few years since I have eaten at Captain D's. This was take out by the way. I ordered the Shrimp platter. Shrimp was on the small side but very tasty. Love the cocktail dipping sauce that came with my meal. Hush Puppies were good and solid. As usual had to get some stuffed crabs as a filler. These made me re-think my usual rating. They plain just changed the recipe. They are virtually tasteless , unless you get a chunk of crab. So it is not in the crab. It's in the lack of seasoning. Put back the Old Bay in it please. I enjoy the food here, but the service is hit or miss. All the staff just did a really terrible job of making me feel like a welcome customer, and they really seemed like they were not genuinely happy to have my business. Angela wouldn't even answer my question about the menu until I told her if it was 'for here or to go' first, and then she gave me an attitude about giving me the sauce that I wanted to go with my order. Angela was unwilling, or unable to answer my questions about the menu other than just pointing at it on the wall, which I didn't consider to be very knowledgeable or very helpful at all. She yelled to the back to change my order for "to go", as if it were some inconvenience, but I don't see what difference it makes, since all the orders are served in the same styrofoam and cardboard containers, which you could see at the tables where other customers were seated. Angela was really rude the entire time talking to someone else over the intercom, and yawning with her mouth wide open while taking my order. They also did a terrible job of preparing my order, because I ordered the shrimp and crab fisherman basket, but they gave me crab and fried oysters. When they served my food, instead of handing it to me and saying "thanks" they just left it on the counter in front of my face as she was talking to someone else on the intercom. The staff are poorly trained to fulfill your orders, and even less so to attend the customers. They don't welcome your business, nor treat you like a valued customer, and they are not skilled at preparing unsophisticated, deep fried bar food. This is my husband's favorite restaurant. Anytime we are anywhere near one he has to go. I think it's about the best fast food fish you can get. In The Texas I only know of 4of them this one one in Fort Worth, Jim Miller, and Grand Prairie. Wish they would open one in Texarkana. We love this place. read more

Much, much better than LJS. You actually get a good value for what you pay. Also, their hushpuppies are devine!!. I ordered the grilled salmon w/2 sides. I got broccoli and corn. With the salmon dinner you also get rice and a breadstick. As you can see from the pic I posted, you get a nice sized piece of salmon. I was just there tonight to order my meal. I went to the drive thru placed my order, clearly and in detail. I waited in the drive thru line for about 15 minutes, hungry and craving their fish cause its been over a year since i eaten their food. I get to the window and they tell me a wrong order. I explained what my order is and it turns out they didn't place it. Upset i just left. I placed my order. I waited too long in line. I expected my food to be ready by the time i get to the window. Awful. Don't go there expecting to eat your family meal with plates. They have no plate. Putting some of the sides in foam drink cups. When mentioned if we would know that we wouldn't had ordered and went some where else. Snappy girl said they have a sign they are expecting some shortages. Plates should be listed. ordered last night via Uber Eats, they upcharge individual sides $3.19 each under the family meals menu. i called the store and the girl said, oh yea we charge more on uber eats... so you can get 5 baked potatoes as your side, but if you order and extra baked potato its $3.19, i got 8 pieces of okra for $3.19, buyer beware!!!! what difference does it make who picks up the order?? how is that justification for screwing your customers?? read more

We ate here on a Sunday. This is a good Captain D's. The service is good, the hush puppies were among the best I have ever had. Very clean and comfortable. The all-you-can eat is just that. The food here used to be much better. They seem to have made some changes recently and now the fish is much smaller, not cooked quite as well and there were no extra crunchy bits that usually come along with the fish. Those small crunchy pieces are the best part of fast food fish. Hush puppies and fries are also not as good as before. Time to find a new fish restaurant. read more
