The family atmosphere drew me here. I read the reviews and wanted to come on down. I also like…read morecomfort food, as do many of you. I went on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. But it wasn't a problem because the two girls checking us in were fast. They explained that it's three different buffets. This is where I get a little confused. So, you have the Seafood Buffet, the Country Cookin, and one more. Now we chose the Country Cookin, and it was beyond good. I went back for the beef tips and rice twice. The fried chicken was the crispiest I've ever had. The baked chicken was falling from the bones, and I had that with creamed corn and collard greens. Not many people can cook collard greens or creamed corn. I was very impressed. After my first two plates, I started to sample because I wanted to try all the food, and because each item had its own flavor and the way it was supposed to be cooked. I think this lady and I were about to rumble over the hushpuppies. We were both trying to figure out how they were made. I also had a big bowl of green beans, and I was elated to know these were cooked the old-fashioned way. I'm not a big fan of Blackberry Cobbler. But since everything I tried was good, I thought I should try the cobbler, and ten out of ten, it was the best. In overall this is really a good buffet.

Remote location with surprisingly good seafood buffet deep in rural central Georgia. Not budget…read morepriced but moderate for an extensive buffet including homemade desserts. Will return if in the area again.

Came here today after a funeral of a friend's dad. Never been here before and had no idea what to…read moreexpect from driving past a greasy spoon cafe, but there were cars in the parking lot and we took it as a good sign. It was busy enough to make fast food look fast, but it wasn't slow for a normal dine in experience. I wasn't sure at first what to expect when the response to my question of "what's good" was "Everything. That's why this place is called Ain't It Guud!" So I got a burger, my wife got the chicken tenders, and my son got the grilled shrimp po' boy sandwich. Plus we got appetizers of hush puppies and mozzarella sticks. The appetizers were good. But the real magic happened when they brought the main course plates out. My wife really liked the fried chicken tenders, but she loved the fries! I tried a couple while we were waiting on my burger and they were really good! My son bit into his po' boy, and his eyes lit up and he made a sound that let us know his tongue had tasted magic. When my burger arrived, I ate a fry, and then took a bite off my burger. Now I don't really remember eating my burger. I remember savoring the flavor, but I never set it down and ate another fry until the burger was gone! I cannot think of a better compliment than that! It was magical. The crazy thing is that it wasn't even on the menu. I had wanted a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, but they had a huge rush on baked potatoes with Philly cheesesteak as the topping that they were out of the meat. So when I asked if I could get a cheeseburger with the Philly toppings of onions, peppers, and mushrooms, with that cheese, she had to double check first. I'm telling you, I have eaten at a LOT of diners, and had a LOT of special burgers. But this is in my TOP TWO OF ALL TIME. I have a review of a place in the ghetto in East St. Louis called Tasteeburger. And the burger here at Ain't It Guud is easily just as good. I hate to say better just because there might be a recency bias involved. But I can confidently say it's the best burger I've had outside of the state of Illinois!
