Review my 6 point Warning Guide: 1. Walk in to Capt. D's and no smell of cooking ~ Questionable? 2. Regular work day, rush hour, only 2 people in the whole joint ~ Be concerned! 3. Placed large order, all fish please. Came with one tiny pack of tartar sauce ~ What's up with that, and not even one pk of vinegar, Did I miss something? 4. Open cover on fish ~ Color of "Fried Fish" looks like beach sand ~ Fear Factor kicks in! 6. Taste Fish ~ Spit immediately in trash ~ Not flaky like fish, mixed taste between that of fish & chicken, Oddly it's firm like chicken. ~ But the ordered was fish only ~ Where's the beautiful Golden color? Service was great, pleasant and helpful. Ordered the fish and fries, came out immediately. The fries were golden and warm and very good. The fish however was not so good. One side was very good crispy and golden the other side was pale and although the fish was cooked the breading was not. The undercooked side was doughy and gooey. A trip to the bathroom was enlightening, it was not clean and apparently the urinal had been removed leaving just a commode. The patching of the wall where the urinal was removed was pitiful. Graffiti and a greasy floor rounded out my experience. It actually reminded me of a gas station restroom rather than a restaurant. There are too many options for food adjacent to this location. The disposition of the people who wait on you there is really bad they act like they're doing you a favor they're nasty they're not courteous they have a nasty attitude towards you I don't know what their problem is but they're not supposed to come to work being like that if you ask for something extra they have a fit and they get nasty back with you it's not right it's not what a restaurant supposed to be like this is why I don't go there very often because of their attitude it'll be a while before I go back There's nothing more I can say but Captain D's got to get better help their employees are nasty read more

Well high end it's not but if you're looking to mix up your road food options it's not bad and the price is right. Me and the boyfriend ordered fried okra, fried shrimp, a fried piece of fish, fries hush puppies, and steamed veggies because we wanted the meal to be "balanced". Skip the okra. Breading and vegetable both taste like nothing. The shrimp were just ok, which is sad cuz fried shrimp are hard to mess with, but still perfectly edible. The fish was tender and flaky on the inside, and while the hush puppies won't make anyone's grandma proud they were serviceable. Vegetables were also edible, though overcooked and under salted. Went to Captain D on May 28th. We have eaten there many times. Food has always been good. When we arrived two young women were arguing with each other and completely ignored us. Finally they asked us what we wanted and took our order. When we got our food it was warm not cold but warm we ate a little bit but did not like it this way so we decided not to eat the rest of the meal. I told the wife I was not going to ask for our money back, but just tell them we were not happy. The one gal said food was dropped when we got there should be fresh other said well you do not have to come back. Update: last couple of visits has been sub-par. Shrimp was underseasoned, overcooked and crusty, they left out one skewer of shrimp, very disappointing. This place is really great, the grilled fish is good and the shrimp skewers are delicious! Service has been great any time I've been there. They have some good low carb options, sides of broccoli, green beans, just skip the bread and rice. Employees are nice, courteous, and seem willing to please. Sometimes the drive thru is a little slow, but each time it has been, my food has been freshly cooked and it is delicious! read more

My husband and I come here for lunch everyday. I always order the grilled white fish with double broccoli. It is cooked perfectly and tastes delicious! The fish is fresh and sweet and the broccoli is tender. I honestly don't understand there being any bad reviews. The staff is fast, efficient and super friendly.
