WeWe went to Captain D's yesterday and the prices have sure going up but as the price Rises The Taste drops. I must say this was the least tasteful meal I have ever gotten at Captain D's the fish was not called I don't know what it was but it was so dry and chewy I wasn't even sure it was fish needless to say this is one with place in Princeton West Virginia that we will not be visiting, the fries and the co-star were tasty but if you want good fish please do not go to i Gotthis Captain D's but it might be goodi on another day it Pleasant.. well I changed my mind on the Cole slaw when they grade their carrots and their cabbage they use the core also we had checks of the core all through there I believe they should be able to throw the core away I don't want to pay for trash in my coleslaw read more

The tastiest and best item to me was the grilled shrimp on a skewer. Everything else was alright. Tastes like a fast food chain, but for seafood. Honestly would come back just for some more skewers. read more

Well, it's been many years since my last visit to a Captain D's and , I must say I think the quality has gone down. My fish and shrimp was a bit tasteless. And the fish was a lot smaller than before. Very thin. The fried okra was actually good. As was the sweet tea. There were very few customers but it's 2021. The staff....well, they were pretty absent, hiding in the back. All in all, it was far from adequate. Either the chain has gone downhill or this middle of WVa needs a reboot. And, whatever you do, don't get any cocktail sauce. It was vile! read more

Improvement from the last Captain D's I ate at but still mixed results. On my way back to Cornelius from a day taking pictures in the New River Gorge, I had not eaten all day and it was 2:30 pm and I had another 3 hour drive, I decided to grab something quick for lunch. For some reason, I had wanted fish all day and then I say Captain D's. Been a long time since I've eaten at a Captain D's so pulled in. There was a line but it moved quickly. Ordered the 4 piece fish dinner with fries. Of course it came with Cole Slaw and Hushpuppies. Apparently they have some made ahead because as soon as I turned away from the counter with my order device, it went off. Could not have been make too much in advance because the fish was nice and hot. Found a table and sat down but then had to get up to find some malt vinegar for the fish. Before I saw that there were containers of Malt Vinegar floating around, I had also got a small tub of tartar sauce. The fish was excellent. Very flaky and moist, not overcooked and good flavor. Fries on the other hand were soggy. We do not have to worry about an oil shortage as long as they have these hushpuppies because they have enough residual oil to power a small town. Cole Slaw was not bad but then again, I'm not a Cole Slaw fan unless I make it myself. I did try the tartar sauce with a couple bites of fish and nothing to write home about. Prices have gone up while the quality has gone down. They still have the best tartar sauce I've ever eaten. Unfortunately, I've tried to eat here multiple times over the past 2 years and the service stinks while simultaneously tearing my belly up. Unless you want your colon cleaned out I wouldn't go here lol. read more

Fast Food Fish and Sass-Mouth Cashier The woman working the register, Cheryl, was rather rude and seemed to be in a rush to take our order. There were no other people in line behind us. And there were only two other parties in the entire restaurant who had already been served. Her attitude was less than welcoming and barely helpful. Once we received our food, the fish was rubbery and tough. Only one of the 4 pieces we had on the entire table seemed fresh. While trying to eat, the same employee was loud and rude to her co-workers. She barked some orders then sat down at a table and watched another girl work. The whole time talking, loudly, about personal issues. We will not be returning to this location. read more

Spent over $40 on take out for the family and they forgot to give us the shrimp, stuffed crab and clam strips. I had to drive back accross town to get them. It's not that they didn't offer an apology or any kind of compensation, but they made it out to be my fault for trusting them to get the order right. So I got to eat a cold dinner. We are never going back to that Captain D's. I reply to the business and their attempt to placate me with some corporate coupons or whatever. No thanks. Your employees and site manager had the opportunity to apologize and make it right when I came back to get the rest of my order. On top of all the above, later that evening we realized we didn't get the hushpuppy order either. If we happen upon another Captain D's in another town one day, we may give that branch an chance, but the Princeton, WV branch is never getting another chance to screw us over. read more

Others try to prepare good salmon.... Captain D's is THE KING! I literally go into an alternate state of consciousness while eating it. The rice! HONEY HUSH! It's so good! The veggies on the side... Yummm! Oh, and that bread will make your tongue slap the roof of your mouth silly eating it. They always accommodate my request for leaving off the seasoning and they give me 3 wedges of lemon to drizzle over my perfectly prepared Wild caught Alaskan Salmon. They know me well. I'm in there every week. I love you guys at the Princeton WV Captain D's location. read more

Always clean, prompt service food good for fast food. I'm a local and eat here from time to time. Will eat here again.

This place has really went down hill.food is too greasy rubbery.not clean. Bathrooms nasty. Not family friendly bathrooms no changing tables for babies.just nasty!!!! read more
