It's been years since I've been to a Captain D's The only thing that could've been better is the food temperature. The fish was seasoned the Captain D's way and was hot. The French fries were tasty didn't need Ketchup, the hush puppies were also good, BUT both were NOT even close to hot. The hush puppies were so close to cold that the butter didn't melt or spread. The coleslaw was still good, chopped fine like I love it, tasted perfect, but again this needed attention . The coleslaw was like lukewarm Again temperature issues. Now the cashier ( middle aged lady) and the gentleman that brought our food to the table were both Phenomenal. This was yesterday Sunday around 1pm. Still reasonable prices!!! read more

The girl that took my order was not friendly or helpful at all. I told her I had 2 separate orders. I wanted my order grilled but was told that I couldn't get it grilled. I thought you could request any of the seafood grilled. I ordered one of the $5.99 fish and shrimp meals with slaw. I was told I could only get the shrimp on a skewer grilled, so I ordered 2 shrimp skewers.when I got home I didn't see the shrimp skewers so I went back to the restaurant to tell them that I didn't get my second order. Spoke with the manager and he found the shrimp skewers was throw in the bag in another small paper with skewers wrapped in foil. I was expecting my skewers to be in a separate container not thrown in the bag along with the eating utensils and the sauces. When I told the manager that the food was cold as I had to come back to the restaurant he didn't offer to redo any of the food, he just said that is the way we do it. The way they pack your food everything is all mixed up in the container because all the condiments is in the bottom of the bag which makes it difficult to carry. The fried shrimp was hard and not freshly cooked. All the manager had to say is that is how we do it. I told him I would never come back to that Captain D's. Gas food last time I had it before this was 4 years ago nice inside good food love the taste

Why oh why... I had a taste for fried fish so what do I do? Stop at this location on my way home. Wrong move.. Anyway, I ordered the Supreme Sample Platter 6 over cooked shrimp 2 Disgusting Spicy Fish fillets, and basically 1.5 pieces of chicken tenders with 2 hush puppies and fries. For the price they should give you a drink. I won't be back the food was so horrible it made me sick to my stomach. If I go to a restaurant and the food makes me sick you think I'm gonna go back again. Nope! I'm surprised they even have business serving garbage as food. It's a real shame that this is the only fish restaurant on Midlothian in that area. Sure do miss their competition they had better Fish and it didn't make me sick. Yelp needs to have an option for negative starts for bad businesses. read more

First time visiting a location on the southside, but glad to know the food and service are consistent at all Captain D's. The fish was very fresh and delicious. We were shared some coupons from the customer in front of us, so the savings were appreciated. My bf is still talking about the hush puppies, weeks later. I was sad to see the fillets are smaller than they used to be and the little crunchy batter pieces no longer make it to the plate. Still I will return for the greasy goodness. read more

The worst restaurant I've ever been to. Employees are so disrespectful. No customer service skills at all. We pull forward to the window and her question to us is "wat u git" then we are told to pull forward. Now another girl comes outside and tell us to pull around and find a space to park in bc "I ain't dealing wit dis mess". We ask for our money back and her response was "that ain't my problem, git back in line". All this attitude bc someone changed their mind and didn't pull forward to pay for their meal. Lobster specials currently offered are great! We did not try the 'bites' but the others, yum. Especially the lobster roll salad. They are served on a 'breadstick' that is fried, the only drawback. The lobster salad itself is moist, flavorful and delicious. The lobster scampi was good, the lobster unbelievably plentiful, as it was in the bisque. How do they do it?! One note: the bisque was a bit salty. What is it with soup and an excess of salt? Anyway, as a lobster fanatic who has eaten hundreds, prepared in every way possible, this was a pleasant surprise. This place has great potential ,and even though they lack an update in renovations they make up for it with taste. HOWEVER, their basic customer service skills are terrible, time is off the essence at a fast food place the least you can do is tell a customer "One moment I'll be right with you." Nobody should be sitting at a speaker box for over 15 minutes without any acknowledgement. read more

We were loyal customers of that chain but I don't think we want to be back again after last night to wait and wait and wait (at Midlothian location). Hope the other location is better. read more

Wow! I was really impressed with this Captain D's! Everyone was so friendly inside. The decor was bright, the tables clean, and the employees treated us like friends. Now, the food... Yum!! I had the lobster rolls, which were soft rolls filled with lobster salad. I also had the lobster bites, which were little nuggets of fried, sweet lobster. I noticed the employees being so kind to seniors eating at this location, as well. Although this location isn't the closest to us, I would return based on the service and the quality of the food preparation- not something you often see at fast food restaurants. read more

We ordered Uber eats and chose pick up as the option. Upon arrival in the drive thru, Jasmine very RUDELY and dismissively told us our food had already been picked up. When we inquired as to how that could be possible she combatively told us there was nothing she could do and we should go. We asked further questions and were met with silence. We pulled around to the front and Maurice met us with a kind and gracious demeanor. Soon after, Anthony came and listened to our problem and attempted to resolve it immediately. Jasmine remained inside exhibiting a very DISGUSTING attitude, further antagonizing an already tense situation. After a very long wait, Anthony returned with our order and apologies for inconvenience. Jasmine not only never apologized or showed remorse, she remained indignant and disrespectful through our wait. As a business owner and a first time patron of Captain D's I say with great emphasis that Jasmine SHOULD NOT WORK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE in any capacity and I will never patronize this restaurant ever again. We visited this Captain D's location on Sunday, the staff was fast and helpful. There were two young men working that I feel went above and beyond, the young man at the drive-thru was multi-tasking with a smile on his face and the other young man working at the front counter was friendly and smiling at customers.
