Great service. My husband and I always have questions, and staff always helps us out. Food is really good ,crispy, hot and enjoyable experience. My favorite is lobster rolls, shrimp and fish . Having choices for grilled or fried is really nice for restrictive diets, also nice to add veggies to your meal. Always a good experience. Used to love it when you served good quality fish. Now 2025 when you serve up the disinfectant, anti parasitic, antibiotic laden , cheap SWAI Fish - raised in Vietnam and shipped here with very little quality control - now I'm not a fan ! Aren't your customers worth a U.S.A. quality product for a fair price. Very sad and disappointed in your fish selection. I went into there as I have seen it in my travels. This place is a "gem" They have so many great deals on meals. I had a $5.99 fried fish deal. The plate was loaded. It was pretty tasty also. There were I think 3 women working in there. They all seemed content in their jobs and with each other. I told the woman at the counter when I left how good and fair priced my meal was. She offered me a menu to take with me. I was astonished at what they offer. On the menu I noticed gumbo and shrimp rolls. Again very fair priced. I do plan to return there. OMG I love this Restauarant. Spring Hill needed a little gem like Captain D's. There's not a place that comes close as far as seafood goes. I should say fast food seafood cooked up in a jiffy. I got the two piece Alaskan Pollock meal with french fries and coleslaw and hush puppies and broccoli. Everything was delicious and served quickly. The staff and cooks were super nice. I highly recommend eating here. So much to try. I had six hush puppies. Why you might ask and I will say because I love hush puppies! The fellow diners were very interesting and I learned a lot from them. I will be back!!! read more

Going to a Captain D's is like going back to my childhood. It is a joy every time I go to one. This was the first time I had been to this one and it was a great experience. My brother took me here for a brother-sister dinner date. I had the $ 5.99 two piece fish and fries meal and added a side of coleslaw. It was all yummy! The lady we ordered from was very nice,too. New fast food seafood joint near intersection of Marnier and Spring Hill Drive. Was a Burger King before. Got there around Noon and did Drive through. Lots of cars in the parking lot. Ordered shrimp and fish platter. Hot and fresh. Cole slaw was good. Only draw back was the batter on the fish was a little more thick that like but it was hot and crispy. BE sure to order tartar sauce. It does not come with meal unless you ask. Good value for ten bucks. I will be back. read more

I went to the Captain D's on Mariner and Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill, FL the other day and ordered a 2pc fish/2pc chicken tender meal. When I got it and stepped outside I checked and one of the chicken tenders was okay but the other was short and skinny (almost l like the size and shape of a pinky finger) so I went back inside. The kid at the front counter was cool about it, apologized and went to get me another one. That's when the chick in the back started up (like I couldn't hear her) about everything from there being nothing wrong with the order to it was "a piece that broke off" to me eating a piece then trying to scam another one from them...basically everything she could make up except that she gave me a substandard meal. After a few minutes she put the new strip on the counter only for, seconds later, the redhead working the drive through to walk by and knock it on the floor. So...I had to wait even longer for a replacement to my replacement, which wasn't even that much better than what they originally gave me. The food didn't even taste that good. I was very displeased. In my opinion, Long John Silvers kicks their butt and Captain Ds is going to have to earn my business back. read more

Gross! I would give 0 stars if I could...the salmon was so fishy that it tasted old and I was to scared to finish it bc I didn't want to get sick. I know its frozen fish but it shouldn't be that fishy in taste or smell like that! What a waste of money...never going back to this place. Save your time and money! read more

So far, all my visits to Captain "D"'s has been very good. I've been there about 8 times so far and each time I've enjoyed their fish, fish sandwiches, and shrimp meals. The two pieces of fish on their fish sandwich is larger than any other fish places I've been at. I have no negative thoughts and enjoy each and every time I've been there. This place was pretty hyped up by the reviews so I went here and I got 3 pieces of fish with hush puppies, and shrimp. The fish itself wasn't all too bad but wasn't anything special, basically what you'd expect from fast food fish. Shrimp was not good, barely tasted like anything definitely don't get the shrimp. The hush puppies on the other hand, were hot, crunchy, and very good for what I was expecting. Also didn't get sick or even feel bad at anytime after eating so don't worry about that. Overall good but not that good, would recommend, just don't get the shrimp. read more

Nice new location, much closer to home than the Dade City location. Beautiful new store. Clean and efficient, and the service it prompt and super friendly. BUT: We've been there twice since it opened. Both times everything was perfect except the food. The portions were adequate, but all of the food, both times, had been sitting under a heat lamp WAY past its expiration time. The fish, shrimp, hush puppies and fries were dried out and just over room temperature. The stuffed crabs appeared to have been under the heat lamp for hours. Shrunken and glazed over. And both times during the lunch rush, the time when you'd expect the food to be freshly prepared. The only thing that was really correct was the cole slaw which is supposed to be served cold. I was a restaurant cook when I was young and an executive at a food equipment manufacturer until I retired, so I know what it's supposed to be like and why managers often ignore the throw out times. They typically cook way more in advance than they should to cut drive through times and then let the excess product sit under the heat lamp far too long. The tip off is when you get served in under two minutes when you're dining in the food had been sitting around a while. I eat a fried fish meal maybe once a month. I will probably give it one more chance because I really like their food when it's properly prepared. I also had this happen at Dade City, so maybe it's a franchisee problem. Never had it happen other places where I've lived including Charlotte and Nashville. Hopefully it will be better. Really good folks and a nice location. read more
