Another first for us. We were driving back home, thinking we could make it from Florida to Baltimore in one day, but needed dinner. We've never tried Captain D's but Jeremy really enjoys fried fish. This seemed like something he could eat while driving, but alas they were out of fried fish, and about half of their menu including condiments such as ketchup and cocktail sauce. Nevertheless we were able to cobble together two meals, and neither of us had any complaints. Jeremy had fried shrimp and popcorn shrimp with hush puppies (I love how many restaurants in the south have these on their menu. These were perfect, if not a tiny bit too salty). I had chicken tenders (they actually had honey mustard dipping sauce, which is my preferred sauce when it comes to chicken) and some amazing cole slaw (not mushy). Even though we couldn't have several of our first choices (out of jalapeno poppers), what we did eat was crispy and delicious. I wouldn't mind trying Captain D's again, sometime in the future, when we're on yet another epic adventure. Sorry no pics. Horrible service! They need a better manager. Can't get orders out. Waiting way to long. A disaster! Soda machine out of ice, Pepsi is spitting out and nearly out. Cashier didn't add drink on original order. Then she adds the drink and stands there looking at me, I suggest to her that I might need a cup for the drink I just ordered and paid for. Only went through the drive through, so I can't comment on the inside. I found the person at the drive through window to be unprofessional. Aside from being in personable, she took my card and didn't give it back for a very long time. It was to the point that I felt very uncomfortable. I watched as she held a conversation with another employee and then went to and from the kitchen (out of my sight) twice all while holding my card. After she finished making laps around the store with it, she returned and handed me a card that wast mine. I never received any explanation for the questionable behavior but I'll be watching my bank statements closely. The food itself wasn't very good either. The fish sandwich was just okay, but the hush puppies were terrible. Extremely dense and unseasoned. I won't be back. read more

The food is good but I won't be back. The woman who brings food out to the car does not wear a mask. This is completely irresponsible. Look at how cases in SC are escalating. If this does not bother you, wait until covid affects your family. I work as a nurse and believe me, you don't want this. This woman comes in contact with dozens of people a day. If she gets this and spreads it, the results would be disastrous. I am amazed the owners/franchise allow this. They could be looking at law suits. read more

We stopped in here on our way to Jekyll Island. We walked in and found the employees to be very pleasant. We placed our order and got our food quickly. The food was great! The hush puppies were just right. I would easily recommend this place to anyone for a good, quick meal. read more

Did lunch today here today, the atmosphere has a 60-70's feel,laid back,slower pace than today's attitude of doing everything quickly. They cook the food fresh so it's takes s little time b4 u get your orders,but it gives you time to catch up with whom ever you're with. The tables have a roll of paper towels on them, so you don't have to deal with those annoying napkins dispensers.my wife and I had what was a limited time offer, but is now a permanent fixture on the menu,The lobster rolls ,which is 2 mini rolls with lettuce and filled with a lobster salad. The rolls have a sweet taste to them, & two will definitely fill you up,& of course to wash it down,a staple in the south....Sweet Tea. Up north when you say sweet tea they always direct your attention to the sugar on the table. Down here sweet tea is just like having running water Everybody's got it. I walked in to a very cool clean and was greeted right away. I very happy to see that they offer an oyster platter for 6.99. It doesn't come with a drink so I also ordered a kids meal since I wanted fish too and would then have a drink too. The oysters are small but tasted great. The fries were soggy. Good place, and I personally would eat here again. The food was good, with one exception. The pollock prepared country-style was perfection, really-really delicious, as were the hush puppies and coleslaw. The fried okra was ok... I think I would like more salt and seasoning in the coating. My husband said the salmon was very good, and the corn, but a little of the rice was crunchy. It didn't seem freshly made. But overall, he liked his food The manager(?) was very helpful in suggesting items, and she seemed to be doing a good job of training her folks. Was pleased to see sanitizer at the door, and seats at every other table were blocked off to allow for distancing, and the staff were wearing masks. The one exception was the chef, so my son refused to eat there, and that is why my review is a 4 instead of a 5. Mask that man! read more

What is the point of having a drive through window if you can't actually deliver the food to each car in turn? I'm sitting in the parking lot with a tag on my door handle and it's been 20 minutes since I ordered and no sign of food. Why would I ever come back here? I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU 10 STARS!! The best chain eatery establishment! I appreciate the fact that your food is always freshly made and not waiting for your arrival!! With that being said, you may have to wait a little longer before you get your food. I don't mind the wait at all. The cashiers have never failed me yet, with all the condiments offered and with any given order you will ask for 5 to 6 condiments and they are actually in the bag! I have really tried to see if they would make a mistake and use drive through or dine-in and NO, got it right! My husband, mother-in-love (yes love not law) and I eat here at least 3 times a week and NOT tired of it yet!!! PLEASE DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING ONLY CONTINUE TO IMPROVE! read more

It was thirty five minute wait they were playing around. And laughing the food was good but the wait was horrible.

I ordered 2 orders of mozzarella sticks on 05/13/2020 at 15:12pm. That was all I ordered. When I got back to work to eat, I was not looking into the bag just reaching my hand into the bag of food and eating. Unknowingly, there was a shrimp in my food that I did not know was in there. I am highly allergic to shrimp....and I had to be seen in the ER bc I had a severe reaction after only biting it not even swallowing it. I have called 4 or 5 times since the incident occurred over a week ago and evedy time I am told a manager will contact me via email. I have yet to get an email. So I guess I need to get an attorney. read more
