    New England Clam Chowder
    Danielle P.

Had such a weird experience with the bartender here. We came for happy hour and sat down with two other folks who were enjoying their meal at the end of the bar. It was still early in the night but prime happy hour time. The bartender eventually came out to ask us what we wanted, then told us she was sorry but had to go back to cutting fruit in the back. Which is fine, you get in the weeds sometimes sure. Once she was back we put in some New England Clam Chowder, then a few more people sat at the bar including her wine rep. We'd been trying to order another round for a bit when a guy who seemed to be one of her regulars came up and ordered food to go, but no drink, which she immediately started pressing him on loudly, saying "If you don't order a drink you don't stay long, and then I'm going to be so f*cking bored here..." I guess having a bar with other people who want a drink is boring? Her conversation with this man continued and was kind of inappropriate - she talked about wanting to dropkick some kids at one point, which, what? Why? We had considered staying longer and ordering dinner but the vibes were off, so we called it a day and closed out. Sucks, because the clam chowder was decent and the views were great.

Took my Aunt for early birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised at the accomodations and service. We had a view of the marina and as we chatted, we watched boats dock and then placed our orders. The Captain's Calamari appetizer was delightfully tender and the dipping sauce smelled and tasted delicious. My Aunt said the Shrimp and Crab Roll was very tasty and the Brioche Roll looked good as well. I ordered the Napeague Steamers and blame myself for not reading the fine print. Steamers are meant to be in broth and dipped in butter, these were in a garlic, white wine, butter sauce with no butter to dip in. (I'm fixed on how steamers are meant to be eaten and don't blame Captain Jack on this.) Next time, I think I'll try the Bouillabaisse.

On our way to Sag Harbor we stopped at Captain Jacks for a leisurely lunch. The ambiance is rustic and relaxing. Our server Savannah was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed everything but the highlights were the clam chowder and the salad with the Cajun scallops which were cooked perfectly. The views of the marina were beautiful.

Fun local restaurant with tasty food and prompt service. Live entertainment while we were there. We had the grilled fish tacos and they were very tasty. They came with hush puppies.

Average food, service and no ambience. Bay view not bay front. If you're in the North Sea, it's an option.

I had no idea there was outdoor seating, or I would've requested that. The atmosphere was very casual with hits playing on the speakers and football reruns on the TVs, but none of that took away from the experience. Now onto the food... I ordered the hot lobster roll and a lobster bisque cup. The roll came with fries, but they gratuitously let me sub them out for sweet potato fries at no extra charge. They'll also throw in another roll if you notify the server you plan to split the hot lobster roll with somebody. I've never had one before, but I thought it was good! The roll could've been sliced better since it was difficult to pack the lobster on the sides, but that seemed to be a one-off since others in my party had a better sliced roll. The lobster bisque was thick and creamy. Thicker than what you'd expect, but still very good and they did not skimp out on the seafood. They came out quickly after ordering, which I guess is due to them just having to pour it into a cup in the back. I was expecting it to come with the rest of my meal, so I saved a little once my entree came. Overall, we had a fun experience, and I recommend this spot for a casual meal that can satisfy everyone, due to the plentiful menu options.

Oops lol It was a quiet Friday evening and Plaza Café is conveniently located near my friend's house there in South Hampton. Being off season, there has been very little traffic and people on the streets. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant when we walked in. This place is cute, private, has great good food, and service. Their menu is very small, but I was still having trouble deciding what I wanted to eat for dinner. Finally decided on the Tile fish....Yeah I know, I was like. Was told that they're like human beings because they eat just about anything in the sea. No idea if that's true or not, but I'll take it. The dish was light and full of flavor. Tried some of my friend's Salmon/Udon dish and I actually think his was the better choice. The salmon went very well with the udon. Noodles were kind of firm and juices full of flavor. Plenty of parking in their private lot. Looks like they may share it with businesses/hotel in the area. I'd eat here again. The décor and feel was okay, nothing amazing or memorable.

Onto my meal, I got the filet taco, boom shrimp taco, and the hot honey chicken. They were all so delicious and yummy, I can tell they took their time creating each taco into a masterpiece. I loved the boom shrimp the most, then the hot honey, and then the filet taco the least, but all of these were so delicious I loved it! The boom shrimp is a delicious trip into the savory tastes of shrimp and the sea. I loved the addition of tomatoes, fresh lettuce, and avocados, drizzled in ranch. The filet taco is a great feast of filet steak and crispy crunchy onions. Lastly the hot honey chicken was great with purple lettuce, corn, pickles, and more fresh delicious veggies. I loved all the tacos so much and if I come back to the area I'd definitely come back, a must go to! Service/ambiance: First off the waiters came to us quickly with a nice refreshing water pitcher with lemons. It was a nice day out but not too hot, inside was nice and cool with the ac but not too cold, a nice balance. Not too loud of a place but nice and chill with a light speaker with music playing in the background. This in my opinion is a huge upgrade to the last location in Northport, this is much bigger and it looks cleaner. Something that stood out to me was that there was no men's sign on the bathroom, but there was on the ladies. I don't know if they're discriminated or something, but that was something, but besides that the bathrooms were very squeaky clean.

I had chosen this place to have dinner with friends from out of town that were vacationing in Sag Harbor. Reviews looked pretty good and fit what they were looking for: good food, water view, not too far from where they were staying. When we drove up, I was seriously questioning myself. The outside looks like a little dated and small. But as other reviewers have said, the interior is very nice and spacious! We were lucky to get a window table although it was foggy so we could not see a lot of the water; just the parking lot and dock. But still better than nothing. I forgot to take pictures of the apps but we shared multiple orders of the burata, fritto misto and salmon tartare (yes, you read that right). All were good and I did enjoy the tartare. For entrees, I got the fish and chips, Cathie got the bouillabaisse, friends got the chicken Milanese special (what a deal!!), Scottish salmon with ramen, burgers, and another bouillabaisse. We all loved our choices but highlights were definitely the chicken Milanese dinner special (because even with slight up charges for certain items, it is an amazing deal!!); and the bouillabaisse. As some other reviewers have said, this is a MUST ORDER! The broth is not too tomato forward but instead is very flavorful with other spices, not just saffron, and the same food is generous and prepared so well! I will come back just for this! My fish and chips were good, even the Cole slaw although I prefer meatier French fries (although these were still good, nice and crispy). Desserts were also very good and service was good after a couple of bumpy starts.

Securing one of the tables by the window overlooking Noyac Bay is definitely a splendid bonus, especially when the summer sun is setting, making it a picture-perfect time to capture the spectacular cotton-colored sky. Reservations are almost mandatory during peak season; wanting to book same day is challenging, however, late evening oftentimes works. A long, dark bar sits by the entryway with cheerful bartenders awaiting. The Bouillasse is a favorite, with clams, muscles, fish, shrimp and lobster in an an unbelievable pinkish-red stew flavored with lovely saffron. I was slightly disappointed the lobster didn't budge easily out of the shell. Nevertheless, the Bouillasse still remains a favorite. Without a doubt, I'll be back for more.
