I know that the Four Leaf Best of Long Island nominations for 2026 are now closed, but if they were still open, I would have nominated Lunch Lobster Roll for Best Bloody Mary. They earn top marks for serving brunch in a cocktail glass! The drink came beautifully garnished with shrimp cocktail, bacon, blue cheese-stuffed olives, and celery. I ordered mine "sub vodka for tequila" to make it a Bloody Maria, and it was absolutely perfect -- the right balance of liquor and horseradish spice, and deliciously thick, just the way I like it. I'll never order a Bloody Mary with vodka again -- tequila is the way to go! The olives added that umami punch I adore. I visited on 10/25/25 and sat at the bar. Kaylia K, my waitress and bartender, was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The restaurant itself was spotless and inviting. I also ordered the seafood nachos, which didn't cater to my tastes -- I'll pass on that next time. I am ashamed to admit this, but I finally got to have my first lobster roll of the season. I know we are in August, but at Lunch it's Lobster Roll season all year long. Coming out here for the day made me realize I should do it more, even in the fall because there are just as many farm stand here as there are on the North Fork. I spent the day out here in the Hamptons and before heading home, I stopped here to break up the ride a bit (one of my many stops). Everything there is amazing and has been every time I come. I still dream about the special they had where their lobster salad came in a local HUGE heirloom tomato. We came at a slower time, right before the dinner rush, and our server was patient. The food came out quick. Even our crab dip, which she prefaced with it would take a while, came out quickly as well. This is a must if you're coming out east. We loved this place so much, we returned... I initially thought a year later, but apparently it's been TWO years since we first came here. Regardless, I'm saddened to say the lobster bisque that we have dreamed about eating again was not as good... boo-hoo. I think it was a lack of sherry. Even a splash of sherry would alter the flavor enough for me to notice, and it makes everything else pop with flavor, as well. Also, as many huge chunks of lobster that there were 2 years ago, well, it was hardly anything this time, and they were small chunks at best. With that said, the large, plump, and juicy soft shell crab was cooked extremely well. Just look at my photos and see how crispy it appears. The popcorn shrimps were lightly battered and fried to perfection. Skip on the expensive seafood chili. The NE clam chowder and lobster bisque were average or below, but the Manhattan clam chowder stood out. Very unique and different than most, which is probably why I enjoyed it more than usual. Last but not least, no matter what you do, get the unbelievably awesome sweet corn. I had been to Lunch when they used to be near Riverhead years ago but hadn't been here since they opened. The restaurant is in an old diner and very nice inside. We got seated immediately and our server came by pretty quickly. My mom ordered the Connecticut style lobster roll and I ordered a traditional style with sweet potato fries. I tried a bite of my mom's lobster and it was so good. Mine was excellent as well, and refreshing on the hot day we had. The sweet potato fries were perfect, and loved the honey mustard with it. I want to give this establishment a glowing review so here goes. I have passed this place numerous times in the past and never stopped there. Today as I was driving by on my way east I decided to stop on my way back. What an excellent decision. I didn't even realize it was mainly a seafood restaurant and quite honestly I'm not a seafood lover. I saw one of my favorite seafood appetizers on the menu, shrimp cocktail. It said 6 jumbo shrimp & I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting much for the price. When it arrived at the table the shrimp were anything but shrimpy. They were a very good size. Very fresh & the cocktail sauce was excellent. The food came shortly after the appetizer was done. For my meal I ordered the fried chicken BLT with fries, AMAZING! My girlfriend ordered the clam strip platter with fries. I was never a fan of clam strips but she raved about how good they were so I tried them and it changed my whole outlook on clam strips. I actually ate a handful of them and thoroughly enjoyed them. The fries were top notch and we both loved them. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the server was friendly and welcoming. The food was so good that I contemplated ordering a dessert but I was so stuffed I just had to pass. I should have taken some pictures but I was hangry & when the food came the last thing I was thinking of was taking a picture. I definitely will return here next time I'm in the area. Hello Yelpers!!! Another review just for you! We had lunch at the Lunch Lobster roll yesterday and must rave to you about our experience. First, our waitress Celina took amazing care of our table offering suggestions and ideas. The manager on that day was Jerilyn who also spent time talking with us and making sure that we enjoyed our lunch (which really was like a dinner). Celina and Jerilyn were so attentive and Celina really made sure that the timing of our food was right. We all ordered the lobster Mac n cheese which came with a very nice side salad. I also ordered the crock sized lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was OMG unbelievable. It was full of lobster meat (or whatever my wife didn't steal from me) and was just so buttery smooth! My mouth is watering as I write this thinking of it. (I took a quart home with me..... Thank you Jerilyn) The side salads were a perfect size and the dressing delicious too. Now..... the Lobster Mac n Cheese was out of this world! Each bite has lobster in it and the Mac n cheese was just so cheesy! I got myself a shirt when I left and will proudly be wearing it! Lobster roll had lots of lobster. Lobster bisque & clam chowder were both tasty but I prefer the chowder cause the bisque didn't have that much lobster. We liked the clam strips too. Our waitress seemed to be struggling with too many tables but she was super nice. We had a bit of a wait though since she was at so many tables. We have always loved the casual atmosphere of the Amagansett location, but was so happy when they opened a year round location in Southampton. I have always been a Manhattan Clam Chowder Fan and was blown away the first time I had their Manhattan Seafood Chowder. I would keep going back just for that, but the lobster rolls, both versions are the best. Two of my other favorites are the stuffed flounder and the broiled fisherman's platter. We are bar people (I tend bar in the area) and like to socialize at the bar. The renovation is very clean , but too open and sterile for my taste but the food and service make up for it. It is surprising how few true seafood restaurants there are in the area considering the proximity to the ocean. The cole slaw was sweet and crunchy. My husband ordered the hot lobster on a salad and he really enjoyed it too. Just a perfect meal.
