I am ashamed to admit this, but I finally got to have my first lobster roll of the season. I know we are in August, but at Lunch it's Lobster Roll season all year long. Coming out here for the day made me realize I should do it more, even in the fall because there are just as many farm stand here as there are on the North Fork. I spent the day out here in the Hamptons and before heading home, I stopped here to break up the ride a bit (one of my many stops). Everything there is amazing and has been every time I come. I still dream about the special they had where their lobster salad came in a local HUGE heirloom tomato. We came at a slower time, right before the dinner rush, and our server was patient. The food came out quick. Even our crab dip, which she prefaced with it would take a while, came out quickly as well. This is a must if you're coming out east. It's not as touristy as you think as it's a local's favorite.

Cuisine: 6 Service: 7 Decor: 6 Value: 5 Overall: 6 Spent the past weekend staying at our friend's place in Hampton Bays. Decided to try this restaurant since our original spot to get lobster rolls ran out of anything lobster by 1:00pm on a Sunday. All their business apparently shifted here just like us. Lol Anyway, it turned out to be a decent meal overall. The hot lobster roll was better than the cold, however, neither were amazing for the price. With that said, the large, plump, and juicy soft shell crab was cooked extremely well. Just look at my photos and see how crispy it appears. The popcorn shrimps were lightly battered and fried to perfection. Skip on the expensive seafood chili. The NE clam chowder and lobster bisque were average or below, but the Manhattan clam chowder stood out. Very unique and different than most, which is probably why I enjoyed it more than usual. Last but not least, no matter what you do, get the unbelievably awesome sweet corn. One ear of sweet corn came with the entree, but we ordered three more as sides to make sure we each had one to enjoy.

This place can definitely get really busy especially during peak summer months. But the lobster roll is worth the wait. The bun is delicious and topped with a generous portion of lobster. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The rolls are a little pricy but tastes great!

This place does have good food and great bloody Marry's but it's not worth the price. The key here is the price & service. Food: -Cold classic lobster roll was really good but not as great as Portland and when you're paying more than $40 you'd expect it to be some of the best. -Clam chowder was also great, hearty, and thick. -Bloody marry was phenomenal. - Fries (side) were just ok. Service was good. The staff were very kind. It is a pretty causal atmosphere, think of it as more of a plain diner.

Lunch makes a delicious lobster roll in addition to other a seafood dishes. The hot lobster roll comes with the lobster meat on a separate dish from the bun and you can assemble yourself so the bun doesn't get soggy. It's fantastic. We had to try the seafood chili nachos and were pleasantly surprised. They have indoor and outdoor door seating. All the staff was friendly enough.

I had been to Lunch when they used to be near Riverhead years ago but hadn't been here since they opened. The restaurant is in an old diner and very nice inside. We got seated immediately and our server came by pretty quickly. My mom ordered the Connecticut style lobster roll and I ordered a traditional style with sweet potato fries. I tried a bite of my mom's lobster and it was so good. Mine was excellent as well, and refreshing on the hot day we had. The sweet potato fries were perfect, and loved the honey mustard with it. The coleslaw was also really good but maybe a touch less sugar in it. Service was excellent and I definitely want to go back again soon.

Solid place for seafood! Came in late afternoon on a Saturday. I was seated quickly at the bar and the waitresses were very attentive and kind. I got a hot lobster roll and fried clams. The fried clams I would pass on next time as they were a lot of batter without much clam. The hot lobster roll came deconstructed so you could build it yourself, which I actually appreciated because I took half of it home. The bun was nicely toasted on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The lobster was fresh and tender. A little pricey for the amount, but probably reasonable for the island.

If you've been to the Lobster Roll in Amagansett but don't love the flies and all that nature going on with al fresco dining, this location could be what you're looking for. It's in the old diner with a slight facelift. Very clean and perfect for folks who may not enjoy the picnic atmosphere of the original location. If you're coming to Lunch, then really, you're coming for a Lobster Roll. I got the hot version and it was everything I'd hoped for (I'd never had the hot version before.) This was the perfect choice. Clean and simple. Good lobster. I'm not going to bother reviewing anything else because, why? You shouldn't be coming here for other stuff. Just get what they're known for! LOBSTER! Oh and the fries were good too.

We went to Montauk during off season. Everything was closed for the season but was happy to see Lunch's Southampton location was still open. Probably the best hot lobster roll I've ever had, very buttery, and huge chunks of lobsters. The lobster bisque was also delicious and had lots of ingredients in it. Our waiter was also very friendly and checked in on us often.

Came here for lunch a few months ago. I like their hot lobster rolls. It comes with chunks of lobster for you to assemble your own sandwich. Lobster bisque is also good, but I didn't like the fish dip I ordered, as it turned out to be a cheesy dip with the flavor profile of a cream and spinach dip (definitely not what I would picture as a fish dip). It's a casual spot for a quick bite.

Everything you'd want in a seafood diner. A charming diner with a massive seafood menu and delicious cold lobster roll and bun, packed with fresh lobster, and a comforting cup of tasty clam chowder. Kick butt coleslaw and creamy, frothy chocolate egg cream. Party/bar room with lots of outdoor seating in the back. Only drawback is the price, with the lobster roll alone at $35, but that's the Hamptons for ya. Would still try any of their locations. 5 stars!!!

Lobster tacos & Crab cake sandwich

Our waitress was absolutely amazing. So friendly and gave great tips about the menu and the local area. The star of the show was the crab cake sandwich, which was flavorful & heavy on the crab. The lobster tacos were also tasty. The lobster in the taco was great all by itself. The restaurant gives a nice sense of nostalgia with the booth seating and made to order cherry cokes and Shirley temples.

Looks like a diner refurbished. Cozy neighborhood feel inside. Has a bar area as well as counter to eat at. Booths and table seating. We had a booth on a rainy Saturday early evening in March, the place was empty. I'm sure when the weather gets nice again, this place packs out. Great night for soup. The lobster bisque was one of the best I have ever had. Thick with huge pieces of lobster meat. Absolutely delicious! Popcorn shrimp appetizer was yummy but nothing to brag about. Loved the yelp check in free beer or glass of wine. Yes please! Service was slow, which was surprising given all the people working there and lack of customers. I'm not out in this area often, but would definitely come back when I am. The prices are good, especially for Hamptons dining.
