Great deli sandwiches! I've never had a bad experience here. It's so simple but they are doing it so right. Best sandwiches in town period.

Want to blow your mind? Check this place out. Unbelievable inventory and options for great Italian…read morespecialty items. The place is a mad house ... parking lot is full and be prepared for a grocery cart rally. Went on a Saturday morning. New guy in town for the experience. Multiple deli counters and fantastic choices. Service was excellent. Tried many cold cuts and salads. Hot dishes were popular with other shoppers but that wasn't a priority for us. Great breads to choose from. This old world deli is jam packed full of goodies. So many, we are returning today for another pass. Couldn't make it out the door without trying some of their chocolates. The triple dipped malted milk balls will put you in a coma. Highly recommend without any reservations. Allow plenty of time and grab a cart as soon as you enter. Bon Appetite !

We had already planned on visiting Franks Diner in Kenosha so we were excited to see that Tenuta's was just a few miles from Franks. After our excellent breakfast at Franks, we made our way to Tenuta's. We were both surprised and kind of excited when we arrived at an empty parking lot with plenty of spaces. It was when we attempted to go in that we noticed that they did not open for 15 minutes. Thus the empty parking lot. What happened over the next 15 minutes was something we have never experienced before. Cars began pulling in 2 and 3 at a time. People were walking up in groups to stand and wait for them to open. Keep in mind this was December and it was pretty cold outside. The closer we got to the time they opened, the more people that arrived. It kind of felt like black Friday shopping. People kept lining up and before you knew it, the parking lot was almost full. Wow. All for good reason as we got inside. Tenutas' is a one stop shop. They have pre-made foods, frozen foods, deli hot food, alcohol, of course some cheese, you name it. We picked up some Italian sausage, some frozen ravioli with their homemade sauce and a pack of their Italian beef. We really enjoyed the ravioli and the homemade sauce was delicious. Being a Chicago guy, the Italian beef was good, just not Chicago quality. The mild Italian sausage was very good and we look forward to enjoying the additional links that we have left. Very popular place that we would definitely visit again when we are back in the area.

Bang for buck one of the best places in that area!…read more It's in Franksville. So there isn't much competition but Dons is a great place to grab a bite. We use to come here for lunch back in high school. It was cheap, filling, and most importantly good!! At that time you got a whole friggin bagful of fries for a buck to go with your sandwich or meal. The sandwiches are good. Pick your bread, meats, cheese(s), veggies, and dressing. It's like subway only fresh, better, and made by someone who looks like your mom :) They will also grill up a fresh chicken breast for you If that's your decision. I often ordered this in h.s. As a change up from my all meats carnivore sandwich. Now that we're older we can drink in the bar and it makes the fish fry more enticing. It's usually pretty busy on fish fry Friday. I also remember them having bluegill available which is on of my preferred fish choices. This place is totally worthy of a try if you are in the area

The name is a misnomer. It is a bar and restaurant. I was told they have a tremendous Friday Fish…read moreFry. Soooo, checked it out. Yikes! The fish menu is extensive: perch, blue gill, cod, shrimp, haddock. It comes fairly well seasoned. There is a choice of potato, slaw, and you can go to the bread and salad bar. The bread consists of rolls, white bread, wheat and rye. The salad bar is potato salad, tuna and pasta salad, slaw, radishes, celery and carrots. Don's attracts a lot of people. And the problem begins because it is free for all seating. This is very uncomfortable since customers are lined up around the restaurant like vultures ready to pounce once you get up from the table. It is also a SMOKING joint, so expect to come out smelling like fresh, stale cigarettes. The fish was pretty good, the potatoes were acceptable, but the ambiance, crowd and smoking brings it way down. Don's offers a steak night on Saturday. I would try it but the smoke is off putting. Two girls behind me had a big pizza (half peperoni, half sausage) and said they always come here for the pizza. The menu offers pizza, subs, and other items, but on Friday night it is almost universally about the fish.
