The counter personnel were friendly, helpful and funny. The counter was clean, neat and easy to shop, even the dried spices. 100% will return in the near future. What happened over the next 15 minutes was something we have never experienced before. Cars began pulling in 2 and 3 at a time. People were walking up in groups to stand and wait for them to open. Keep in mind this was December and it was pretty cold outside. The closer we got to the time they opened, the more people that arrived. It kind of felt like black Friday shopping. People kept lining up and before you knew it, the parking lot was almost full. Wow. All for good reason as we got inside. Tenutas' is a one stop shop. They have pre-made foods, frozen foods, deli hot food, alcohol, of course some cheese, you name it. We picked up some Italian sausage, some frozen ravioli with their homemade sauce and a pack of their Italian beef. We really enjoyed the ravioli and the homemade sauce was delicious. Being a Chicago guy, the Italian beef was good, just not Chicago quality. The mild Italian sausage was very good and we look forward to enjoying the additional links that we have left. It is also a SMOKING joint, so expect to come out smelling like fresh, stale cigarettes. The fish was pretty good, the potatoes were acceptable, but the ambiance, crowd and smoking brings it way down. Don's offers a steak night on Saturday. I would try it but the smoke is off putting.
