From the start, they took the time to walk through our home and clearly ask about everything we wanted to move so they could mentally map out how to load the truck efficiently. They were extremely diligent with protection, using blankets and/or shrink wrap on all furniture and electronics, and they were very by the book when it came to reviewing the contract and confirming details. I especially appreciated that they checked all electronics before and after the move and even had me climb into the truck at the end to verify that nothing had been left behind. The move‑in was just as smooth. We had labeled certain items to go to one level and others to another, and they followed those directions perfectly, with everything ending up exactly where it was supposed to, with no damage and no confusion. Their organization and care were obvious in every box/container they carried and every piece of furniture they placed. Moving is usually a very stressful experience, but Fito and the Pure Moving team made it feel manageable and even reassuring. To be frank, I was weary of being baited by the SEO algorithm and how it handles a company called "Best California Movers." One might also be lead to believe they have a suspicious amount of positive reviews. And I'm relieved to say I would wager they actually deserve the name. Quoting and Booking: Jesus Costa, with follow up from his colleagues Chris and Michelle, made it easy to get a quote, have all my questions answered, and finally sign to book with confidence. I had several rounds of questions from initial contact to agreement review and they gave quick and detailed information, such as the cost of materials and boxes, liability for any building damage, and estimation of how long the job would take. Other companies I requested quotes for recommended 2 or 3 crew, but Jesus recommended 4 off rip for a speedier move and it turned out to be a great fit for our 2 bedroom local move. The Move: Dmitrii Parii and his team did a remarkable job. Although we moved from a 2BR apartment, we actually have quite a lot of stuff from previously moving from a 3 story house. We've hired other movers before and Dmitrii's team moved the same amount in roughly half the time, and that included disassembly and reassembly of some of our key furniture such as our bed and two standing desks with mounted monitors. His team arrived within the estimated time, worked efficiently even though I offered them snacks and to take a lunch break, and handled all of our belongings carefully. He also came prepared with many tools for disassembly and reassembly. To be honest, I expected this job to take 9-10 hours based on our previous movers and they did it in 7. I also had a fair amount of questions for Dmitrii, including with regard to the final invoice, and he was a great sport about answering all of them. Low key thought maybe I was getting jebaited by the name "Best California Movers" but they're legit and actually about that life. They may not have quoted me the cheapest price (mainly because others put forth 2-3 crew) but they prescribed the correct fit, recommended the right number and quality of crew, and saved me much time and stress. He offered a partial refund, which I appreciated. Because of how respectfully this was handled, I'm updating my review and adjusting my star rating to reflect the resolution. That said, I will return with another update if the refund does not arrive within the promised week.) I am extremely disappointed upon arriving at my place and opening my boxes that were in storage this past week. On 29 March, 2026, I hired this company to do only the packing, and the pre-unpacking review was positive only because the movers were friendly. Now, I know why - a bit akin to servers being overly friendly just before giving the bill. On 7 April, 2026, I finally was able to take my stuff out of storage and open some of the boxes. I'm absolutely floored at what I've discovered. Long and short of it, one of the boxes was never even fully taped or taped at all, and everything that was in my drawers had been dumped into the box. Nothing was wrapped, including the little lamp that I had - just took the lightbulb out and threw it in there. Took off the shade so it would fit - didn't care if it got crushed or torn. Then, I guess he couldn't or was too lazy (?) to put the shoes all in one box or something, because he dumped a bunch of them in there, too! No glass or breakable items were wrapped and I had supplied them with plenty of wrapping paper, as there was even some leftover. Bottles of liquid substance were not securely shut and protected from leakage. It appeared as though drawers of things were dumped out into boxes with no regard. I haven't opened all the boxes, but from what I've seen so far, I suspect I'll have to update. I will also add that without seeing any price list for boxes, no transparency about that whatsoever, I ended up paying $95 just for boxes - they said they would use as many of mine as possible, and even after the 10 small ones they gave gratis, there were several of mine leftover, but I was out $95, and no one showed me the price breakdown of this. There is *no way that was an honest summary! Furthermore, I was pressured by one of the movers into giving a 20% tip! The audacity! Especially after deceitfully charging me $95 for a few boxes!!! I emailed customer service address, along with a direct reply to Michell, who processed my order, as well as a text to his assistant Megan. As I figured, I would be ghosted once I needed actual "after I've paid" support. I read other reviews that said similar. No one has reached out via phone call or email. The reply Megan wrote in a text seems like the canned responses all businesses use, and rarely, do these hold any water. I am out of pocket over $500 due to this poor service, but that doesn't matter to them, because it's now in their pockets now. p.s.When I went onto Yelp to review them, there is a warning pop-up about fake reviews.
