Came in for a vehicle that was advertised at $30,000, but somehow ended up walking out with a car that cost over $40,000 after taxes and fees--with zero warranty. They told me I needed to put down 20% to qualify for the $30K deal, so I put down $17,000. Despite that, I didn't get the price I was promised. Less than a month later, the check engine light came on, and I ended up stranded on the side of the road. When I called the dealership, they claimed the vehicle had been fully inspected by a BMW dealership and that everything was up to date and in good condition. That was clearly not true. The car had visible scratches and scuff marks, likely from a hard brush. I had to pay out of pocket to have it detailed. They also promised to reimburse me for a crack in the windshield, and while the dealer initially asked me to send a photo of the receipt--I never got the refund. He completely stopped responding after that. On top of all this, they lied about the price listed online and immediately tried to upsell me the moment I stepped into the dealership. I even spoke with the manager, hoping to find a solution, and he wanted no part of it. Now I'm stuck with a car I can't return. The fake smiles and empty promises were the final insult. STAY AWAY!!! They sold me a 2017 Nissan altima. I noticed problems and was getting transmission codes in the first week. they sent the service manager and he miraculously did not pull up any codes. brought it to a transmission shop and spent 136.78 for him to pull up transmission codes and tell me I need a new transmission. argued with car castle bc they said "the car is fine" and laughed when I said I needed a new transmission. I won that battle. they picked up the car, brought it to their shop which told them it needed a new transmission. I had to pay for a rental for the week they had my car. 3 days after getting the car back, my airbag light goes on. Spent 80 on a tow to an auto body shop to find out, my airbags dont work and the cost to fix is more than what the car is worth and to not drive the car bc it is unsafe. SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! This is going to be long as I'm detailing specifics since no one else is.... The price advertised online is not what you will pay. I spoke on the phone w/ Trace about coming to look at a manual 2016 VW Jetta for $10,859. Original plan was to come on a Tuesday. Had to reschedule for Wednesday. We were free on Sunday, so I called and asked if we could come look at the car and then COME BACK ON WEDNESDAY TO RUN NUMBERS. They said yes. Before any appointment they call like 3 or 4 times to make sure you're coming and on your way and eta and how much longer. They called twice just during my 1 hour drive there... *RED FLAG* We go and meet with Mike. (We've had the same exact car and knew we liked it so it was just a matter of its condition and numbers). Mike talks us into running numbers, which is fine. $10,859 turned into almost $19,000 because of their NON OPTIONAL "reconditioning (about $3000), "Certification" (about $2,000) which is not VW Factory certified, it's a third party certification, and a third party warranty (about $4,000) even though the car was still under factory warranty. Mike wrote this all down on a random piece of paper, it looked like he was calculating how much he could charge and get away with lol. We couldn't bring that paper home *RED FLAG* And you can only finance at their preferred bank, no outside financing. If you want to pay cash, the price doubles. *RED FLAG* I told Mike, don't fix the car - "we have to". Don't certify the car- "we have to, we already did". I don't want the warranty - "it's not optional". *RED FLAG* So I said ok, we'll come back on Wednesday with the down payment. Him and Trace exclaimed, "NO DEPOSIT TODAY????" I said no, I told you I was just coming to look today and we'd do the numbers Wednesday. Trace then tried to twist my words and said "No you said you would leave a little something today" *REd FLAG* (UNTRUE as I knew I was waiting on my stimmy, lol). They tried to convince me to leave $500 down which I said no. I told them, sell the car I don't need it I just want it (plus manual cars are not popular today anyway we knew it would've been there for 2 days). They got flustered and agreed to hold the car until Wednesday. *RED FLAG* They call on Monday and tell us we got approved for the loan but won't give any further info (required down payment, apr, or monthly payment) until we came in. Which we're from NJ so it takes an hour and about $25 in tolls to get there. Called and left them a voicemail Wednesday morning saying we wouldn't be purchasing the car. They never called back but started texting asking when we were leaving etc. like I said earlier. I texted saying we aren't coming we left a voicemail this morning. Mike responds exactly, "I held this car for you guys . Thanks anyway" and "And I never got a voicemail." Anyway... this place is a giant red flag. STAY AWAY. I responded to an add for a car priced at $14,000. They were very good at selling it, getting it inspected, tags, insurance, etc. But once I was off the lot, they stopped returning calls and emails. I was told the salesman could get financing at a 4% rent, it's actually 8%. The car was $22,000 not $14,000. Bought A Mercedes 2017 Gls 450 back about 2 weeks before the Covid 19 break out in New York. There were a few issues with vehicle prior to purchase that were mentioned to be covered under the manufacturer warranty by Jimmy and TK. I was assured that the vehicle was in perfect order for a 2017 used vehicle and that everything having issues was covered as mentioned above. I scheduled an appointment with my Mercedes dealership here in NH and come to find out the vehicle had shady and subpar repairs done to the vehicle including improper bumper repair using exhaust wrap to hold the electronic sensors in place and some other kind of orange epoxy. The was a power train leak as well the GPS module on the roof of the vehicle was ripped off. Thought nothing of it when I signed the papers as it was 8pm at night and almost completely dark. But on our return home journey from NY to NH the GPS navigation wasn't functioning at all. Called the next day and was assured it was a electronic issue covered by the manufacturer, but NO it wasn't. The parktronics in the vehicle do not function because of the shady repairs to both bumpers and the radar which monitors impending collison randomly goes off signaling and incoming car when the road is empty. It is quite nerve racking. I'm surprised a company like this would treat people like this especially a 100% service connected disabled veteran. Shame on this company. I reached out numerous times and was told to kick rocks or pay them to fix the problem they caused. Don't trust this company with anything. The finance guy is Jimmy and the head person I dealt with is TK. Do not trust a word that they say. especially when they say oh yeah we just took this car up into the mountains of Pennsylvania everything worked fine. If you buy a car from this place you are literally putting your life in danger. I went to see a 2009 Toyota Rav4 from Jason on a rainy day after work 2 weeks ago and I asked a lot of questions and asked to see the carfax. I asked if the car had been underwater because it showed signs it was. He said "no" even though I pointed out that there was rust on the seatbelt bolts on the floor of the car. He insisted it wasn't. He gave me the typical story of how he has twin daughters and wouldn't sell a car that wasn't good. I asked about the brakes and he said he changed them himself when I questioned it, even insisting he, himself, changed the pads; yet later on when we were talking in the office I told him I used to work on cars with my deceased father and spoke about learning about bleeding the brakes as a small girl. He laughed and said he doesn't know much about repairs and doesn't know how to bleed the brakes. So basically that means he didn't change the brakes himself because you can't do it without bleeding the brakes to get the air bubbles out of the brake line from the fluid. So then he says he has 3 people coming the next day to look at the car and it's going to go fast so I felt pressured to put a deposit down so I did. It was a Thursday and I was going to pick it up on Saturday after he fixed the broken tail light, broken gas door, and the loose cover hanging from the bottom of the car needed to be replaced or bolted back into place. I go to pick the car up on Saturday and it's not ready and I had to wait till they fixed it. After giving him a $7K deposit I paid the rest of the $4k on my credit card and drove it home. When I get home its finally not raining and I can get underneath the car to really get a good look as I suspected he lied and it was really underwater. Well it was. The entire undercarriage was rotted so bad the frame had holes as large as my hand and the rust was in dust form just falling out. There was also an oil leak coming from the rear axle shaft. Now for those that don't know if a car has flood damage the insurance company deems it a total loss and the owner is paid in full for the value of the car and the car must then state on the title that it is a salvage vehicle and can really only be sold for parts as it is not safe to be put back into the marketplace. Hence the reason the frame was completely rotted. So I first text him that the car was in fact underwater and there was an oil leak and he did state that there's a 90 day warranty. I was polite this entire time. I then called him and was going to tell him I needed to return the vehicle (it's been only 24 hours so according to law he needs to return my money in full) and was going to suggest I swap it for another vehicle he had because I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he really didn't know it was underwater and unsafe. I expected he would say, "OMG, I'm so sorry, please bring it back and let me see if I can get you into another Rav4 I have on the lot." Instead he screamed at me with such anger, "YOU'RE WASTING MY TIME!" and screamed it twice and then said he'd write me a check and hung up on me. So I'm rattled. I have my 80 year old mother help me bring the car back. I don't want to argue with him so I just brought the keys and title and put them on his desk and pick up the check to leave. I notice it's for $150 less than what I paid and he said it was for the transaction fee from the credit card company. I don't want to argue so I take the check and start to leave. My mother stays behind for a moment and then both of them follow me to my car, My mother is saying that we can't cash the check because it's post dated for 4 days later. I later found out that this is ILLEGAL. My mom is stating he can't do that and that I gave him cash and he has the money in his account and that if I leave I have no car and no money and he could bounce the check. At this point he literally just snaps and starts screaming at my elderly mother that I was an asshole and treating him like an asshole because I asked too many questions about the car and then mocks me "What's this? What's that? You ask too many questions and I didn't need to give you the money back at all!" I'm floored and I can't even say one word. Of course he needed to return the money; it's against the law, and when you go buy a used car you want to know about it's history and repairs done to it and you need to ask about it. At this point my mother is saying she works for a lawyer and he's screaming he doesn't give a damn who she works for and to get off his lot. She doesn't want to leave without the car or the cash thinking he's about as slimy a used car salesman as you can get and he's violently screaming in her face. An 80 yr old woman!
