First let me start by saying that I take reviews very seriously as these are people's businesses…read moreand livelihood. For me to give a 2 start review it has to be a really terrible experience. Hyundai Genesis Coupe 52,*** miles $11,500 The initial buying experience was pleasant. I've never been in and out of a dealership so quickly. Unfortunately, that's where the pleasantry ended. The day after I bought the car I found water standing in both back floorboards. Coastal Auto Network paid for a rental car while my car was being fixed. I got my car back in about a week. The same day I got it back, the problem still existed. The dealership paid for another rental while they attempted again to fix the problem. This time it was closer to 2 weeks before I got it back but it was fixed when I did. I drove my "new" used car for approximately 7 months when everything went wrong. My check engine light came. I brought it to the Hyundai dealership because I couldn't find a mechanic locally that works on the Genesis line of Hyundai cars. The diagnostic report comes back that I need a new computer ($2700) and components of my airbags were damaged ($800). The mechanic (with whom has over 25 years of experience in this field) stated that all of these problems are most likely from extreme front end water damage and that the dealer probably got a great deal on it from a flood sale. He explained that a water damaged car can still look good inside and out, so the buyer has no clue what they're getting themselves in to and how much damage is under the hood and in the electronics of the car. Which is probably why I thought my car was such a fantastic deal when Kelly Blue Book valued it at over $13,500. I also bought a Proguard warranty for approximately $1200 that Coastal Auto Network sold me. The warranty covered NONE of the problems that I was having so $3500 came out of my pocket for these issues to get fixed. After getting my car back it only took 6 days before it messed up again. This time it could've had killed me and other people. I am stopped at a stop light and the check engine light comes back on, the car begins to rev up and the car starts driving into oncoming traffic in a jerking/jolting fashion. The emergency brake was the only thing that saved me, my friend and other drivers at that busy intersection. After I stop sobbing from absolute fear of death. I have the car towed back to the Hyundai dealership. This time it's a brake switch that needed to be replaced ($280). My car was at the Hyundai dealership for most of November and December. It's now May and the check engine light came back on yesterday. I'm in so much debt because of this car that I can't even trade it in on a more reliable car because I'm so badly upside down in it. And I have no idea how much this new issue is going to cost me. I'm so upset and defeated by this car. Back to the warranty. I called ProGuard and explained what I paid for the warranty and how I had gotten absolutely no value from it. They advised me to call the dealership I bought it from and ask for a refund. After calling Coastal Auto Network and waiting almost 3 months, they refunded me $380. In conclusion, I bought a car from some really nice acting people that most likely knew they were selling me a severely damaged car. Also, the car allegedly had a clean Carfax and I've found that it's had front end damage. Icing on the cake I suppose. My advice: go to a big dealership and buy a new car that has a manufacturer's warranty. I'm giving a 2 star rating only because they paid for a rental car twice in the first month I had the car while it was getting fixed. Also, they've never been blatently rude to me. Yet, being polite with little to no ethics is essentially being rude. Most buyers would have given a 1 star and a call to the Better Business Bureau. Buyers beware.
