I used to go to this place regularly for an oil change until the day they damaged the body of my car and refused to admit it! I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. I dropped my car off for an oil change and came back a couple of hours later to find my car parked and partially blocking the parking lot's entrance facing Central Park and WITH A SIZABLE INDENT in the drivers side door! I knew for a fact that this damage was not there before and when I confronted Vegan (the guy in charge that looks like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) about it, he flat out refused to admit that this could have been their fault and instead accused me of lying and trying to dupe them. UNBELIEVABLE! If the mechanics WEREN'T the ones responsible, then its clear that what happened is that their careless parking of my car at the parking lot entrance caused someone who was trying to squeeze through the parking lot entrance to hit my car. I admit that this is probably what happened and Vegan agreed to the possibility as well, but refused to admit that the shop should bear any responsibility for what happened. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! They parked my car in their parking lot entrance, a place where its likely to get hit by entering/exiting cars. It was ABSOLUTELY THEIR FAULT! Extensive arguing with Vegan produced nothing except further insults on his part in which he not only accused me of lying but continued to say that my car was already old and in bad shape and that one more indent was insignificant. Insulting and also besides the point. Unfortunately I was unsuccessful in getting any kind of compensation from this place. Looking back on it I was an idiot for not calling the police and/or getting a lawyer involved. I occasionally still drive by this place and still see them parking people's cars in the parking lot entrance. This guy is terrible I took my Honda Odyssey there and he robbed me and coned me he stole and took 225.00 dollars from me because he said he changed and put a new oxygen senor which was a lie he never put it and acted if everything was okay this motherfucker then broke my starter and said I did it and charged me another 340.00 dollars people please do not go here he will present himself as a nice guy and con you and trick you and charge you for work that he doesn't even do !!!!! I've taken my battered old car to Car Fix several times. The experience is always frustrating, of course, because my car is broken and it's going to cost money to get it fixed, but these guys have always been helpful and friendly, and I never got the impression they were trying to con me out of anything. They also won't get aggressive if they give you an estimate and you tell them you're taking your car elsewhere for a second opinion. Decent local business, worth supporting. read more

The first time I had my car repaired here, it was not really a choice as the Jizzeep chose to die at the stoplight directly in front of thew place. With a dad as a mechanic, I have NEVER been to an auto shop as a customer, and the people here were amazing. They did not charge a thing to figure out the problem and quote a price. Then V had it fixed by the afternoon. As soon as I could go home to MI again to visit the fam, my dad took a look and said the work was great and to never take my car anywhere else. I called again about a year later when I had a new noise, and they remembered me! Gina with the red Jeep and the alternator. Again, did not charge a thing while he had lifted the car and found the problem and explained it all to me. V gave an estimate and sent me on my way with no pressure at all. I took my 2000 VW Beetle here to get some pretty extensive work done on the front bumper and fender. I told Vegan I wanted the bare minimum done, only what was absolutely necessary to fix, and that was exactly what he did. My car was ready within a week after taking it in and I am extremely pleased with the results. It was expensive, unfortunetaly, but there was a lot of damage so that was to be expected. I hate to give a place two stars but It is what it is. I got a zero star service and I'm actually being generous. This didn't happen recently and it was for an old toyota that I brought to fix it at their store. They were recommended by a very good friend of mine. First of all they are very expensive and they use the cheapest parts in the market. I replaced the radiator, water pump and ended up redo the whole work again somewhere else a month later. I just realized after this particular service that I'm more happy to pay a franchised dealer to fix any vehicle I buy. This is better than fixing it by these small businesses and probably almost as expensive as they are with the exception of by taking the car back to the franchised dealer they will be more than happy to redo the whole work for me for no cost while. Why should I bring any car to this type of business? To support ? Sorry, all my cars now are being fixed at the dealer. No more car re-fix read more

The first time I brought my car to Car Fix because it was close to my home. Vigen assessed the car and called to tell me what the problem was. He fixed the issue for a fair price. He did see some things that may need repair in the future, but advised me that it was safe to wait. Months later, I failed my emissions test and Car Fix was one of the recommended mechanics on the emissions website. They fixed my car and Vigen took it to the emissions testing place himself. It passed. With my final visit to Car Fix with my now deceased car, he gave me multiple options for repairs, including storing it for me while I decided what to do. In the end, he made it drivable so that I could trade it in for no charge! The repairs are fast, he keeps you informed about the situation and the price is fair. Highly recommend. read more

I had my bumper repaired and repainted by Car Fix this week. The owner, Vegan, was very helpful, and also very quick in returning my car to me, less than 48 hours. While he did give credit to the weather being warm enough (which was earlier this week--wouldn't know it today as it was in the 40s), which helped the paint to dry quickly, I also credit his ability to act and get the job done. (He had a full lot of cars for repair when I dropped it off on Tuesday.) The bumper suffered damage on the left side under the headlight with paint cracked off and peeling due to impact, but Vegan painted the whole bumper and the paint matches perfectly to the rest of the car. read more

I bought a cheap car and knew it would need work - a new starter & flywheel. Took it to Car Fix, paid about $1,400 (!). Week later, had to bring it back to have them replace what they "fixed". Month later, needed an alternator and some other things - they charged $600 (!). Not even a month later, the starter they had put in wasn't working. Had it towed to another mechanic who found that the holes had been drilled crooked! The new mechanic fixed it. Few weeks after that, alternator started acting strange. New mechanic had to replace that too! So ... I paid Car Fix $2,000 total and the new mechanic about $500 to fix what Car Fix screwed up. Their receipt doesn't even have warranty info, they patronized me because I am a woman, didn't give me straight information, etc., etc., etc.! Do NOT trust these guys at all!!! read more

This is my go to place - first reason was because they are close and just needed to get my car fixed. Now, if I moved, I would still come back. They have fixed my Ford and just had my Lexus (about 12 years old) fixed. My Ford needed a lot of work - and I sold it to someone who was moving to California, and this young relative of mine, well, he would complain if something went wrong. But so far so good for almost 7 months! He says it is running great! Whew! Last week, my Lexus wouldn't start, they came up, jumped it, took it to the shop and fixed it - needed a new alternator and battery. Now, my bumper had a yucky dent, and I bit the bullet to have it fixed - OMG, couldn't not believe how great it looked! My husband was shocked! We thought it would just be a "patch fix" but it looks unbelievable, you would never know it was ever damaged. I admit to being a little iffy when I went in a few years ago, but they have proven themselves. read more

After failing my emissions test, I took my car to CAR FIX at the recommendation of a friend. Vigin, the owner, quickly identified the problem and guaranteed that he could get the job done. Not only did he fix my car quickly, HE TOOK IT TO BE RE-TESTED SO THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE EMISSIONS TESTING CENTER AGAIN. When I picked up my car, the PASS certificate was waiting for me with my car keys. THANK YOU, VIGIN! I've had nothing but good experiences from this place! I happened to find Car Fix on my way home and I have brought my car to them for the last three years. My 2005 KIA has seen some "rough" days. It's especially great that being a woman I never feel like I'm being taken advantage of, talked down to or given the run around. They tell me what needs to be fixed, I always take it to other reputable shops to get second opinions and they always turn out to be the best in price, rapport and quality! I've been going down the street to North Park Auto Center for the last 3 years. My last experience I had with them. They couldn't find the problem. Tell me they have to change all these parts, part by part till they find what's wrong. After them saying my car is ready and picking it up 3 times and turning around and dropping it back. Obviously it was time to try a new place. I got referred to Car Fix Auto Cent from a good friend. The man is so sweet and couldn't believe the place I first went to couldn't find the problem considering he found it in a couple minutes. I figured with how the last place was he was going to need my car for a week or more. I got my car back in under 24 hours. My car drives like its brand new. My car would turn off while driving or when I first turn it on. All it took was a crank position sensor. I'm so happy for the recommendation and thank you again! you have to be careful taking your car here. i was a loyal customer for a couple of years. most of the time, i was very satisfied. but the last issue i had with my car raised some concern. i suspect he has on occasion replaced old parts with used parts rather than putting new parts. I've stopped taking my car here after this last experience. I wouldn't say you shouldn't take your car here, just when you have major repairs, be real vigilant about asking to see the new part that was put in and see the old part taken out. read more
