I was looking to buy a company truck. My partner met with Jeremy on a Thursday. My partner checked it out and scheduled for us to come the following day Friday. We put a $500 deposit. Jeremy was not in at the time that our mechanic went on Friday so we rescheduled for Saturday. Jermey does not work on Saturdays so my mechanic met with the owner AL. Unfortunately, I came down with a bad illness that weekend and was out sick for over a week. Jeremy spoke to my wife a few times over that time span and he mentioned they had other potential buyers and could return the deposit. So we agreed. Now they won't return our deposit. Sigler's has always been very easy to work with. Recently they fixed my fender at a reasonable price, fitting my schedule, very responsive. I also had a good experience in that their policy was to charge 3% on credit card purchases. I hadn't realized that so I said I'd send them a check when I got home - they instead just waived the fee for the credit card out of convenience. read more

It breaks my heart to leave this review. I had been a customer for at least 30 years. I always trusted them. The last few times, not as good of a feeling and then the last time- charged for an oil change I never would've agreed to because I just got an oil change the week before. I contested and they made me feel like it was my mistake. As a customer who had been going to Siglers for years, not only did I feel ripped off, I was hurt. I had defended them for years when things weren't exactly "kosher" and after moving into the city, I remained a loyal customer , taking buses and els to get there and back. I felt so betrayed, like a trusted friend stabbed me in the back. It's almost a year later, and I'm still upset. My car needs service- no way I'm going back there. I found a highly recommended mechanic close to where I live- told him the story. He admitted, that sometimes things like this happen, bad days, not thinking right, but in his right mind, he would never treat a long time customer that way. Gave them $500 for a deposit to go look at a vehicle (should've been the first red flag), vehicle was not as described in the listing (ladder rack had been replaced with a broken one), had a dead battery that they blamed on it being "cold for a couple of days", which won't work since we happen to live somewhere it gets cold, had two busted side view mirrors that apparently aren't a safety hazard (even though they charge $700 for a vehicle safety inspection), they refuse to respond to my texts or refund my deposit after choosing to not purchase the vehicle. read more

I've been going to Siglers mechanical shop on Lincoln ave in Skokie for years and was always happy with Avi but the last time we took my daughters car for work on her brakes Avi said it would be $400. I started to tell him that I could pay half and the rest in a couple of days but before I finished my sentence he said "I'm not a bank!!! in a very condescending way. It's a shame but I will be taking our cars and the neighbors I referred to you to a different place. Oh by the way when I went to the new place they said there was no charge because the parts were under warranty!!So you have lost a few customers because of your attitude. 5 stars......they fixed the sliding door on my car......it was working.....and then it stopped.......they got an old door and changed the lock.....that mens they stood behind the repair......all this for half the dealer cost as this lock was not available on the second market.....all this and courteous to boot...... read more

Note: The south entrance on Lincoln ave is where the Auto center is located. The other side is for Auto sales and then for body or something work. If you mix it up, you'll have to go around. Sigler's works with State Farm insurance and I've used them for fender bender repairs before. Recently I needed some work done due to insurance related damage, so I stopped by on a Thursday and received a quote on the work. Inside there is a sign posted which says (something to the effect of) that they can only quote repairs but cannot promise timelines. They quoted me a couple days to get parts & do the install, it ended up taking almost a week which was fine. The work was professional, they handled the insurance portion and I was out of there lickety split. There are two locations in Skokie and I've happened to use both. I like that they are on top of staying in contact with their customer and providing all aspects of information needed for parts and repair. I remember the 80's traveling around Chicago looking for a decent repair shop with my old man. Getting the run around from seedy mechanics on their pricing and bullshit charges. Now some thirty years later all I have to do is share my experience with you (on Yelp) and save you the time and energy. Your pocketbook will be happy. read more

I have been going to Avi for over ten years for service, never used the body shop. I would give them ten stars out of five if I could! Avi is above everything honest and fair. and prices lower than anywhere ive ever found. He even replaced an engine in my Nissan 8 years ago and the car still running like new 35K miles later! i used to do all the work that i could on my cars myself and would take to mechanic only when absolutely beyond my ability. I still try to do some things like regular maintenance (I love to wrench, been at it since I was 10!). But now I'm too busy and confidently leave any of my three vehicles with Avi. Go here.i have a s63 that needed some light touching up...they did above and beyond the work they planned to do.they sent me pics daily of the progress and kept me in the loop.the also fixed my wife truck and once again went above and beyond what was needed.they are a a1 shop,with things like a mixing booth, painting booth and oven.this is uncommon in shops this day and age and the pricing is excellent.thanks.will always recommend you guys. read more

I've been using Sigler's for car maintenance and repairs for 10 years+, and have been more than satisfied with everything they've done. They are honest as the day is long -- Avi refused to do work for an elderly friend, because her concern was unfounded. They are excellent at diagnosing problems, get down to root causes, and fix problems right the first time. I trust them with all my vehicles, and recommend them frequently to friends. I've used the body shop side to replace a cracked windshield, and was treated well there also. Prices are fair - not cheap, but in line with the going rates. Had a terrible experience at another shop and decided to take my car to these guys. The car was in a previous accident and our State Farm agent recommended this place. They did a great job in repairing the car then, so I figured that they would provide the same service for other work. I am very happy I did. Rich at the shop is a great guy. He took me in the garage and pointed out my particular issue on the car, so I would know they are not screwing me. I discovered the other place has been using cheap parts, up charging, and just flat out lying. On top of that, Rich charged me literally half the price for the same work! Told Al (body work side) that I wanted to do something really special to surprise him - decided on a lift kit and tires cool enough for a guy that age. Al said he would handle it -- and he sure did! working with Avi (mechanical side) and his team, they pulled off a complete transformation in less than 4 days!! Fair, considerate, friendly, likable, reasonable, dependable and a 10 star operation. I have passed out their cards to everyone I talk to. AND...as a bonus, they are the owners of 3 adopted stray dogs and a pregnant stray cat that reached their welcoming doors. Pettable, lovable, irresistibly sweet and available for petting 'while you wait.' Don't like dogs...stay out of the inner office but continue doing business with the best autoshop in the north suburban area. I drive 20 miles round trip to get there and back but I would drive as far as I'd have to to get their service. Love you, Al and Avi and wish nothing less than a long, long life on this earth.
