From the beginning, Rei set the tone by reviewing my project thoroughly, being upfront about costs, and even asking follow-up questions to make sure his team could deliver the work at the highest standard. That professionalism was my first green flag. Mark handled the work on my car and went above and beyond my request. I asked for before-and-after photos to help me track carbon buildup for future maintenance, and not only did he deliver, he provided even more detail than expected. The results spoke for themselves: No more idling during cold starts, City MPG improved from 24-26 to 30-32, when I first bought the car off the showroom floor I was so impressed with the quality and transparency that I immediately scheduled additional maintenance and performance upgrades. It's worth noting that I drive from Libertyville to Palatine--often during rush hour--because the service, professionalism, and results at R&M Performance are far beyond anything else I've experienced. While, I would give my one-time experience with the mechanics a 0 star rating, I would give the follow-up by the ownership and absolute 6 star rating out of 5. That averages out to 3 stars. I would say that I have rarely seen this type of follow-up and care for their customers and their experiences from any other business. This was truly the example of good business practices. We recently had to send our manual car in because of some starting issues. They listened to some other problems my husband was noticing and let him know what else they could look at while they were down there. If it was something they could do easily, it would save them time from having to take the part out again and fix it later, then they would be able to offer a discount on the bundled repairs. If the issue was something that required them to be in a different part of the car, then they recommended we wait because it would cost more for the labor of looking/disassembling/reassembling. Totally reasonable! While they were fixing the car, they noticed something with the clutch that was making it wear faster. They provided a recommendation that would improve the engagement plus allow it to last longer. Anyway, the details are just to prove that they're great to work with. They communicate really well and make sure you're comfortable and educated with your options.
