This store is definitely the best. The entire team is customer service-oriented which says a lot about Car Toys. They took excellent care of me while there repairing/installing a remote start--which is difficult on a Maxima. The store manager Kyle was amazing. They kept me informed along the way, they didn't charge me an arm and a leg and most importantly, they treated me like they genuinely cared. These guys ROCK!! read more

Lazy and pathetic. I went to the store in Denton on the 288 loop. I was looking to get a pair of PIAA fog light bulbs. The guy asked for make, year and model. I have a 2018 Chevy Traverse. They said their book only goes up to 2016 and they couldn't help me. I pulled out my cell phone and looked it up myself. The ones I wanted were right there on the rack. I just walked out. Let me start off by saying this review doesn't reflect the awesome service & installation I have received in the past & received on my visit today 04/24/14, Once I got to the salesman & installers that actually know what they're doing! It seems as if the Denton store now has a new manager named LONNIE. Not sure if I'm spelling his name right or not, but who cares with his attitude! Upper Car Toys management needs to look real close at this guy before he ruins this store & runs customers or valued employees off. Upon my call to address adding features to a system I had installed awhile back, this guy on the other end LONNIE starts rambling on and on about this is what you need, blah, blah!!! Trying to sell me stuff I already had installed but he wouldn't shut up long enough to listen to what I was actually calling for! While I was waiting for the system options I added to be installed, LONNIE CONTINUIOSLY acted very unprofessional , belittling valued employees. Trying to act professional but looking like a complete IDIOT!! This guy needs to go!! I and several other customers I associate with will be finding other locations or worse other stores outside the Car Toys brand if he remains in this position!!!!!!!! Sad; because we all love this store & the service we have grown to know, but will not condone seeing or being the blunt of his power trips!! read more

I am not a car audio veteran so I did some research around the Denton area before deciding who to go with. Once I called Car Toys and spoke with the team, I learned about the depth of their team and the consistency of follow through. All good and fine but just talk. When I went in to tell them what I was looking for, they were very realistic with suggestions and careful to stay disciplined to my budget. Great job with customer service, knowledge, and completing the install quickly. read more

Against my better judgement went to these incompetent guys to install a remote start system. Kevin quoted me a price and an install time over the phone. Both the install time and the price changed when I got to the shop. Again against my better judgement I went ahead and paid before the service was complete. (Kevin did not give me a receipt) I dropped the vehicle off on a Thursday morning 10am. the told me 2 to 3 hours for install. 4pm rolled around and I hadn't heard from anyone so I decided to call. They said they just need to program the keys and to come on in. When I got there they told me they would be done in 20 minutes. An HOUR later Kyle told me that they couldn't program the keys and that I had to take it to the dealer to have them reprogram the keys. So the next day I took the vehicle to the dealer which cost me money. The dealer did their thing and then I returned to Car Toys that same day. Another quote of 20 minutes to was given, yet another hour went by and they still couldn't jet the remote start to work. Then they tried to tell me that it was still a key problem. The assured me they could have the problem fix by another dealer. So once again I trusted them with my vehicle. They drove it to the second dealer once there the dealer did something to the vehicle to where they can't even get it to start now. I have been without a vehicle for 5 going on 6 days now with no resolution or solutions to this issue. The motto from Kevin, Kyle (Store Manager) and Bruce (Assistant Manage) is "no Sir we can't do that, and we don't know whats wrong with your car". The sign behind the counter says "Satisfaction Guaranteed" There is no way anyone can guarantee ones satisfaction. They couldn't answer the question when asked either. These guys are a joke! read more

I took my car a 2009 lancer in to the shop in Denton TX to have some audio equipment installed that I perched beforehand. I thought that sense I was driving a great car I needed a great install. I instructed the installer to install the 400 watt 4 channel amplifier under the center console where the factory amp was, and to install my 1200 watt mono block where it was setting in the back side of the trunk and I would mount it latter. I asked if they could tune the audio install with the SMD tuner I was assured they had, I was assured that wouldn't be a problem. I brought 2 kicker cvr 12s in a pro box (already installed in the box so no one could mess it up) and instructed him to face them towards the front of the car. I then told him I wanted the switch that I had to be installed in such a way that I could turn off the mono block and still run the 4 channel, for when I get into a city or town. I then showed him where to mount the switch. I asked him if he would solder the switch terminals and heat shrink them, and if he could do the same with the head unit wiring harness I had brought, I was told that he would. After $1100.00 and 8.5 hours my install was finished. Time to have a look, WTF both amps screwed into the back of my back seat, no solder, no heat shrink, no tuning other than ear. I asked the installer what was up. "This is how I do all my installs." The car was parked out front and the shop doors were already closed. Now I have to replace my entire back seat, my aux input doesn't work, and my video from my IPod will not display. I never was able to get in touch with the company because they will not answer any of my attempts to contact them including email. It has been almost a year and nothing. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I can install car audio. I will never use another shop again. read more

I will not be going back to this store. The member of the floor staff that helped me seemed a little uninformed about the headrest DVD players I was considering. So, I decided against paying 600$ for an install they seemed unsure of. I did need to buy some speaker boxes and had done some research online before I drove to Denton. The speaker boxes were listed for $29.99 online and when I got to the register the floor staff member told me they were 39.99. I told him that I had thought they were cheaper on their website and he said they were not. Kind of like saying take it or leave it. I needed the boxes and didn't have my phone on me so I bought them. When I got to my car I looked at the price online and they were 29.99. I went back in to get some of my money back and they told me no the manager was busy. I said I would wait. The floor rep leaves and 5 minutes later tells me there is no one in the store that can help me because no one knew the password for returns. ON A SATURDAY?! Anyway, they said I could come back tomorrow and return the item. VERY unprofessional. I called the 800 number to complain, they made me leave a message, and no one to date has returned my phone call. Again, I will not go back to this store, if I need something I will order it online or go to Best Buy. read more
