Lorentz Automotive is the best automotive service I have ever used in my humble opinio. I have had cars from 1965 to the present Lorentz Automotive has worked on our vehicles since 2019. They have always given us estimates and services before the service is started. I have never had a vehicle that wasn't repaired or recommended repairs that we decided to or not to replace.. We had one 2013 SUV with about 80,000 miles that to be repaired for any long term use needed about $7,000 to $8,000. I've had nothing but excellent service, honesty and integrity, him offering "acceptable wait to fix" advice, lower cost alternatives to keep costs down, and speedy but thorough repairs. I don't know what the problem is with some of the people I have seen on here giving bad reviews, but I have to think that in some cases for them it's like the guy who is on his 5th divorce. I provided a good review of Lorentz Automotive when their service was good and will be honest about poor service. I had to tow my truck to Lorentz over the weekend due to starting issues. Lorentz was quick to contact me Monday morning. After analysis, it was determined the Battery fused link (HOT battery terminal) was bad. I wish I could have troubleshot myself but I was in a time crunch. This batter terminal is a quick disconnect. I was way overcharged for the service and repair: $130 Analysis, $165 part ($40 mark-up from Nissan), and $217 to repair (I got hosed here). Total $399. It was $500 before I started challenging. It's too bad, I wanted Lorentz to be my go to mechanic but I can't support being taken advantage of. read more

Having an issue with my 07 Jeep after 265,000 miles with the Evap system. They did not give up on the issue. Actually during the first smoke test a hose line was missed as leaking. They replaced the line for only the cost of the part and not the labor. Evap system errors are not easy to find but the issue has been resolved. Excellent service read more

I am an existing customer of 7 years. They have some new staff who need to learn phone manners - very contentious and rude. This mornin, just so I can support a local business, I asked for an estimate to install a Cat Clamp and asked if they could look at the manufacturer's website to assess the cost of installation. It is a product I had the Honda Dealership install on my Element. The guy I spoke with insisted that I physically bring the product to the shop. The product costs close to $400 and I wouldn't want to go through the trouble of ordering it, if I didn't have an estimate. I was told that they wouldn't do it without physically seeing the product. This is a product of some repute and would have been nice to see them make an effort to accommodate the customer instead of simply blowing them off. I go to Lorentz because they are a Local Business and they are honest. But, this may be the last straw. Can a honest business not be courteous to an existing customer? There are several mechanic chains within a minute of drive from my home. Lorentz is at least a 10 minute drive. I had my 2003 Jeep Wrangler toe'd here after it wouldn't start. Come to find out it was just the fuel pump so a fairly easy fix. 3 days later I go to pick up the jeep after the tell me everything was put back together and in working order, well after driving around for a day or so everything seemed normal except for a weird sound coming from under the hood, and when I went to open it I find out they didn't even reconnect my Intake Hose to the Throttle Body!!!! I had been sucking in dirty air straight into my engine for an entire day! Not only that but they left a can of parts cleaner upside down in my engine bay right next to the radiator and belts!?!?! I also have a breathalyzer unit in my vehicle which wasn't even reconnected when I got there (after they said everything was reconnected and in working order) and I had to wait for the owner to call the company and get it back online, well about and hour and half later he had successfully turned a simple task into a nightmare and couldn't get it turned on, convincing me it was broken and now the breathalyzer companies issue. Left with no other choice I left and rushed to work which I was now late for. I took my vehicle to get the device looked at and next thing I know I'm getting charged $100 dollars to have it simply turned back on, because the vehicle left the mechanic shop without being turned on! I couldn't be mad at them because it was just there policy and this all could have been avoided if it was just done right the first time, and when I called Lorentz and the owner tells me he can't doing anything and offered me a free oil change. I'm a broke college kid who could barely afford to pay the repair bill in the first place let alone this pointless charge after the fact. I used to take my Cobra to Lorentz for repair and modification work. For several years I was happy. I have been referring my friends to this place also. Several weeks ago, my girlfriend took her Mercedes Benz to Lorentz for repair of the RIGHT Windshield washer nozzle. We got the car back only to find the left Windshield Wiper now wiping too far to the left!! Why on earth did they fiddle around with the WINDSHIELD WIPER when the problem was the RIGHT Washer nozzle? we took the car back to have them change the oil AND repair the windshield wiper, only to return and find a CRACK on the left driver's side of the windshield just above the wiper arm base. The service manager insisted it was there when we brought the car in! Right! As if I make a practice of dropping wrenches on my car's windshield! I Don't Think So! Needless to say, they wont be repairing the Mercedes or my New Mustang GT in the future! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, not anymore! If the service manager had been honest it would have been no big deal, but since he lied about it, Now, I have told all my friends, and I am spreading the word... Don't go there!! read more

They are a shop that you can feel comfortable sending folks who know nothing about cars to be treated with respect and honesty. My wife, daughter, friends and other family have all gone there on my recommendation over the years, and had nothing but positive things to say afterwards. I have a 96 740iL which had a code for 1 catalytic converter. Manager said he would not provide a warranty unless I replaced both. I replaced both and 3 months later I had a code for the catalysts again. I took the car back and they would not honor the warranty. Stuck with a $1200 bill for nothing. I would not recommend Lorentz in Lewisville to enemies. The customer service or lack of it was SHAMEFUL! read more
