I have been to DFW Stereo for window tinting and now stereo installation. Sam, Tony, and Juan answered all of my questions, thoroughly knew the products they offer, and made suggestions for the application I was looking for. I like 80's rock 'n roll and I wanted the stereo to thump when necessary, but with good quality sound all the time. They even suggested different speakers than I had in mind (lower cost) to achieve the sound I was looking for up front vs. in the back. Would not recommend. Reason: Unprofessional The owner is friendly, and I do believe from the conversations I overheard that he is planning to sell the shop. The conversations while waiting for my car to be wired became increasingly awkward with potential new hires discussing their salary requirements. Result: My after-market mirror is wired and works in my car. That's 1 star. However, they wanted to charge me $150 for the wiring that took less than an hour to install. I'm not one to usually complain about prices, but I had to look up the wiring diagram myself! Ridiculous. read more

Fantastic Sam (the owner) and Tony (installer) Are fantastic. I went to several other stereo installation places but I felt most comfortable with DFW stereo. No BS and kept it simple and my sound system turned out awesome. They did the original install and I Felt like I needed a little more bass. Fortunately, there was a factory installed sub woofer and so Sam was nice enough to simply upgrade my amplifier and we used my factory installed subwoofer as a trial run. Fortunately, it sounded fantastic. He did not try to oversell me on another sub woofer. I really felt like these guys cared about making a great sound system and they have excellent customer service. I can't recommend them highly enough. Definitely give them the opportunity if you're interested in upgrading your Soundsystem for your car. read more

Everytime I upgrade the speakers or stereo in my car I research the hell out of it. I go on the internet... find out what's best... and then find the best price possible. I mean, it's what everyone should do right? Anyway, after I do all this, i go to DFW Stereo in Grapevine to see if they can match any deals that I find, and they almost always can! Which is great. The guy that runs that shop is super cool and he remembers me everytime i go in, you won't get something like that at Best Buy or Circuit City. In the 9 years that I have been a driver, I have had 3 subwoofers, 3 pairs of speakers, 3 Head units, 2 amps and 3 car alarms installed by DFW Stereo without any problems. Also, whenever I need to make any adjustments I just go over there and ask and they usually can help me out right away. The technician - Will (Willy) is very experienced and helped me get a cd-changer (for my 2006 BMW 750i) for $525 vs $1850.00 if i got from bmw showroom. he pointed me to car-part.com to get the part and installation was 125.00. He knew exactly how to open the complex BMW 750i console and got it just right. The owner however is not such a great guy. He was very impolite not only to me but another customer who he literally asked to leave his shop. i would recomment this place but warn you to get a fixed quote from the owner before you let them touch your car. I have used their services over the past several years for radar detector installations with no problems, however, my most recent visit changed my mind and I will never return. I had an axillary port installed and in the process, they managed to break the power cord to my back passenger window and vehemently denied it. When I arrived, curiously all 4 windows in the car were down and the person who did the work was obviously inebriated. I smelled the alcohol on his breath and he repeated the simple operation instructions for the axillary cord over and over which only confirmed my suspicion. Unhappy with this behavior, I proceeded to drive away and while rolling up the windows the back on fell straight down. I can only conclude this worker confused my job with another and messed with the back speaker causing a cable in the door to break. Maybe the owner, who did not seem overly surprised about the alcohol consumption, will read this and assure you he has fired this employee but I'd be very skeptical to take my business there. read more

I have dealt with the old company prior to July of 2016 and purchased a couple of Kenwoods and had problems with them. The "NEW" Ownership is great they are very easy to get along with their product line has variety and is great. So... on my Pontiac, Lincoln, and Titan I had them all replaced with Kenwoods. There knowledgeable staff took the diversity of autos and did a great job with installation. They also gave good advise especially on the older Pontiac maybe you should try these lower cost accessories. that makes a customer feel better when you get advice that directs you into a cost savings without sacrificing the quality. I really recommend DFW Stereo. Every time I got a new car or wanted an upgraded system the owner Masoud was great. He would actively and personally work with me to get me the best system for what I wanted and at the best price he could afford. Seriously, their prices are better than any brick and mortar store and is just as good as anything online. I don't trust buying my stuff online because #1 these items could have been stolen parts or arrive broken and #2 manufacturers don't warrantee anything that wasn't purchased through their certified distributors like DFW Stereo (for reason #1). But it doesn't matter because DFW Stereo will get you the best price and great service. Plus you can get everything installed in just a few hours with their great technicians on staff. The store front isn't the greatest but that's a product of them cutting into their own profits to give you the best deals. There's a reason they have certificates all over from manufacturers claiming they are one of the best retailers. Do yourself a favor and go get your car work done at DFW Stereo. I've been other places but it's clear they just want to sell you what makes them the most profit. (Judge them by how much they spend on making their store front pretty) Being an electrical engineer I know a bit about electronics and I can tell when others are trying to sell you an over or underpowered amp for your subs, Masoud will be honest with you and frankly that is enough of a reason to go to DFW Stereo, and that's the reason I am writing this review. I just had a Kenwood head unit installed at DFW Stereo. In the process, the installers managed to tamper with the air bag system circuit which activated the airbag service light on my 2009 Volkswagen Passat. The owner Sam and an installer insisted the airbag sensor light would clear on it's own and that I shouldn't worry about it. I called the VW dealership to explain the problem and they indicated the airbag sensor light can only be cleared by VW and will not clear on its own. I took my Passat the the VW where they documented exactly when the airbag system circuit error occurred and what exactly happened. The VW diagnostic report on the airbag system documented the exact time the installers caused the airbag system error light problem and exactly what they did. The service advisor at VW explained to me that the installers where absolutely at fault for this issue. I presented the documented reports to the owner and he was unwilling to reimburse me for the expensive diagnostic fees I had paid the VW dealership. After prolonged arguing and disagreement about the matter, the owner reluctantly and begrudgingly reimbursed me for the charges, During this experience, the owner never apologized for what happened nor took any responsibility for causing the issue. He was disrespectful towards me and highly unprofessional. Avoid DFW Stereo as there are many different options here in DFW for stereo installation. read more

I took my truck there a few months ago. We agreed to a cash out the door price. I picked my truck up hours later and taxes and fees were added to my cash price. They cracked my trim while installing a microphone which left it hanging in the doorway. Also on my drive home my truck died. I found that they broke my battery terminal and did not even tell me it was not connected anymore. Do not take your vehicle to these sheisters you will be very let down.
