My friends and I popped in on the Saturday night after Christmas. The bar had a cool ambiance with a retro feel. There were two disco balls and different standing/seating areas. The bartender was nice. When asked, he said none of their drinks are really sweet. He said some Logan Square bartenders have PTSD from people asking about sweet drinks, as if they're the only ones who don't like sweet cocktails (hilarious). I didn't mean anything by it but was debating on the flavor and if I was up for something sweet or not. I landed on the Fortune Teller, perfect sipping drink. Lots of complex flavors, not too sweet, can definitely taste the coconut and pandan. I was surprised by the how much pandan flavor there was. My friends had the espresso martini (liked the drink but not the foam), Negroni Bianco, Aperol spritzes, and highball. All were good. Honorable mention for the Bonal shot (fortified wine). It was good! We were in the seating area at this point but the speakers were so loud it was hard to all talk to each other. read more

Came here while waiting for our reservations down the block and I am so happy we did! The entire space is super cute with a big disco ball that just adds to the vibes. There is a lot of bar seating and outdoor seating for the summer. The bartenders are all really chill and welcoming. We tried -the mezcal negroni which was perfectly made in a way that the mezcal/capari had a good balance -espresso martini: such a different unique take with this! the dalgona foam made is extra rich - canned heat: a really great gin cocktail! - boulevardier: great rye cocktail that balanced well with the other ingredients It'd love to come here to grab coffee and breakfast sandwich. Coming back in this place is officially on my favorite bars list. The service has been impeccable, the drinks are top notch. The energy ethereal. On my most recent visit to chicago for 3 nights, I made 3 trips to caracara club! Why, you ask? Their freezer door martini. This is, indubitably, the greatest martini I have ever consumed. A lovely frozen coupe, a lemon twist, and a bright refreshing take on a classic. The servers are great, big smiles, big antics, big fun. I don't have a whole lot more to add. We stopped in for drinks before dinner on a Saturday. Theres a big wrap-around bar and there were already a lot of people. Luckily we were still able to snag a table. They have a nice selection of cocktails and it was hard for me to pick one. My cocktail (boulevardier) was delicious - it's usually my go-to classic cocktail. Most people seemed in their late 20s or early 30s, but I didn't feel totally out of place. Everyone's just chatting with their friends and minding their own business. They have happy hour during the week and if I lived closer, I would definitely be checking that out- perfect for early birds! read more

Stepped into the Cara Cara Club after visiting the old neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised. A band was playing some chill music and we sat down at the bar for a spritz that really hit the spot. The interior had a cool vibe and the staff was very friendly. We ordered a dip that came with gluten free crackers that my wife loved..and I had the regular crackers. The dip was delicious and was the light snack we needed. I tried another cocktail that was well balanced before we had to run errands. I've only been in here once for drinks, but for those wondering about the vibe, I think most long-time city bar vets will be impressed. We did a mezcal negroni and a boulevardier, and both were tasty...and for some reason, I came away very satisfied with spending just $15 a drink here. (I know, it's sad, but cocktail prices are spiraling out of control and I notice it when I am not bled dry by a local bar.) Better still was the clientele. There was a nice mix of everything going on here, so I loved the mix of folks who were in the mix on a recent Saturday night. I liked the bar seating, even though we caught the stools right at the corner of the bar facing the door...not exactly a great spot, but a great perch for people watching (which, we all agree, is anything any of us ever ask for). Food: we did not eat here, however, we did order one round of cocktails. My friend ended up ordering an old fashioned and I ordered a mocktail. The mocktail was great! I love that this bar had an option for mocktails. It was perfect mix of sweet and sour. 10/10 Service: all the bartenders were very attentive. We were greeted quickly when we sat at the bar. When a bartender took our order, another was pouring us waters (we didn't order waters but it was good to have some on hand). 10/10 Ambiance: the bar was small, but cute inside. We came around 6:30 so there was enough sitting for two people pretty quickly because we just walked in. There wasn't a hostess but it wasn't too difficult to find seating. The espresso martini, decor, and welcoming atmosphere is enough to make me want to come back to Cara Cara Club. My husband and I stopped by around 5:30pm on a Friday night. There was a good crowd there during most of the time we were there, but there still were available seats. I had passed by the night before after 9:30pm on a Thursday night and there were many people standing, so I would imagine the place gets busier as the night goes on. I have tried many espresso martinis around the city and have my favorites, but the dalgona foam on top really helps this one stand out. I also tried the black manhattan and was a big fan of it as well. I will be keeping Cara Cara on my rotation of Logan Square bars and look forward to inviting more friends to join me in the future. read more

Went with some friends and it was full of lively folk. Drinks were like 20 a piece. Bartender didn't seem to know how to make a drink that wasn't on the their menu so our drinks were awful. We didn't find anything appealing on the menu to eat so we skipped that. A few of us had their on menu drinks didn't find them tasty and there was plenty of ice. DJ was great. There really isn't anyplace to dance and we liked the music but it was so loud you couldn't hear conversation. It's cute inside with a nice bar and they have high top tables and outside seating. Met some friends here on at 6pm on a Monday night for cocktails before heading off for dinner around the corner. We were greeted by a bouncer who checked our identification before allowing us entry. Perhaps it's a necessity to have someone like that watching the door at a Logan Square bar, but it seemed a little off-putting. Beside our group of six, there were a half-dozen other customers sitting around the L-shaped bar. The bar area is beautiful and well-designed. The only detail in the room that seemed off-note were the tiny panel curtains that were visually overwhelmed by the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The bartender was attentive and friendly. My husband ordered a South of the Border that he said was very good. I was not drinking, so I ordered a non-alcoholic Prickly Pear Swizzle. It was a little too sweet for my taste, but it was expertly prepared and beautifully presented with a large sprig of mint. Our friends arrived earlier, so they already had their cocktails, and they seemed to be pleased with what they had ordered. We did not try any food, but the menu looks good. Cara Cara is probably a lot busier on Friday night and weekends, but it is a great place to hang or have a cocktail before heading off to dinner. read more

We were disappointed after seeing such good reviews. My husband had the 24hrs in Singapore (just tasted like fruit juice with LOTS of extra ice) and I had the Fortune Teller, which tasted like it wanted to be complex, but it was just a mish mosh of icky flavors. Both drinks cost $15/each. We actually came for tapas since we heard it was a tapas bar, and we were also disappointed in the choices. Most offerings were with toast, which tasted great, but there was no variety for people that want to stay away from bread. ‍ The conservas were all unavailable, which left the two small plate orders-olives and bottarga toast and then the charcuterie. The olives weren't amazing, just olives with lemon zest. The bottarga toast had a nice crème fraiche on it with - also - a lot of lemon zest. See a trend? Finally, the charcuterie. We both got nice plates with more bread and our choice of cheese and meat and this was probably the only thing we liked. The mustard and jam was yummy and the plate came with caper and peppers which were a delicious accoutrement. Service came from the counter and they were going through a shift change, so there was some confusion as to how we get our food. The ambiance is kind of cool, but it was kind of dirty inside. My take: if you want to call yourselves a small plate establishment, get a little more diversity, and certainly if you want to be known for good cocktails, you've got to make them well. read more

Loved, loved the vibe! Went on Saturday night and they had amazing cocktails and music. There was a diverse crowd of all ages, making it a great bar for all positive vibrating people. They had Noshaluv as the DJ and she kept us there all night. I've heard her in other places and she has a very diverse range of music which I love.
