Before my appointment, I explicitly asked if my entire initial visit was covered by my insurance. They said yes. When I arrived, I verified a second time before sitting in the chair again, they guaranteed everything was 100% covered and I wouldn't owe a dime. Then the surprise bill arrived. They performed an "advanced X-ray" I never requested or consented to, and passed the unapproved charge directly to me after insurance denied it. Every other dentist covers annual checkup X-rays under standard preventive care without issue, but this office deliberately tack on hidden fees. When I called them out on lying to my face twice about coverage, they simply refused to own up to their mistake and demanded payment anyway. On top of their shady billing tactics, their rates for basic dental procedures are vastly inflated compared to every other practice in the area.

The next week during my scheduled checkup, I reminded the doctor about the injured tooth and she made no attempt to examine it. Again, during my next scheduled visit 2 1/2 weeks later the tooth still wasn't examined. I felt this was very unprofessional and I had started losing trust and confidence in the doctor. I have been with a broken tooth for about a month now and can feel the gum around the tooth starting to swell. I also requested an itemized bill to show the billing codes and was made aware that the doctor billed me incorrectly twice. I was billed using the code 7210, which requires surgery opposed to the code 7140, which is a simple extraction. I called to dispute the charges but was told very rudely that the codes would not be changed and the charges were correct. At this point I lost all trust and confidence. I can only surmise this was done to me because I paid out of pocket and didn't use insurance. I have since obtained my dental records and have started to seek a doctor whom I feel is ethical and not just a salesperson wearing doctor scrubs. This was the worst dental experience of my life thus far!!

Parking: big free lot outside. Always a plus! First impression: visually, the office is very outdated and old-looking. I was initially taken aback when I arrived, because I have never been to an office that looked like this before. I had pretty low expectations because of this. The chairs in the waiting room are ripped up on the bottoms, so the material is sagging down to the floor. Decor is minimal inside, and it is stuffy and has no natural light. Same for the exam rooms in the back. The technology (exam chair, moveable lights, etc) look like they are all older than me! Dentist: I was seen by Dr. Stanley Lin, D.D.S. Right from the beginning, he was extremely polite and personable. He easily built great rapport and was thorough with my exam and cleaning. I felt immediately at ease and the appointment went by quickly. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Lin, just know that the office is not the most visually appealing one!

Thirty days ago, I scheduled new patient appointments online for both my spouse and myself. I received an email confirmation at the time of booking, followed by an automated reminder shortly before the appointment date. When I arrived--on time--for the first of the two appointments, I was informed that I was not on the schedule at all. The receptionist initially asked whether I might be at the wrong location. I showed her the confirmation email from their own online booking system, at which point she acknowledged that their online scheduling system does not work. This is not disclosed anywhere on their website, and the system presents itself as fully functional: accepting appointments, sending confirmations, and issuing reminders, creating a reasonable expectation that the appointment has been properly recorded. While the receptionist was courteous and apologetic and did reschedule me, a more serious concern arose during intake. When intake questions began, I asked whether the forms I had already completed online, including extensive personal, insurance, and medical history information, were available in my chart. I was told no, because the website does not track or transmit that information to the office. At that point, I had to stop the process. The intake forms required the upload of significant amounts of personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI): data that is protected under both federal and Texas law. The staff could not tell me: where that information is stored, whether it was transmitted securely, who has access to it, or whether it is retained, audited, or properly safeguarded at all. Given these uncertainties, I formally requested that a manager and/or the organization's privacy officer contact me. When an organization invites patients to submit legally protected data through its systems, it has a legal obligation to know where that data resides and how it is protected. Failing to do so raises serious concerns about privacy compliance and patient trust. This review reflects concern, not hostility, and I am hoping the organization takes this feedback seriously, addresses the operational and privacy gaps, and demonstrates compliance with applicable law so this review can be updated accordingly.

It is a little painful to get through all of the machinations of the mall area, but once you find the place, you'll find your easiest entrance and exit locations. Again, no apologies, no accountability. She then proceeded to make an appointment in November with my daughter.. no thanks, not with unprofessional front desk. Good luck anyone booking online. Well organized, very skilled, and extremely kind. Their dental hygenists who do the cleaning are just excellent. Respectful, gentle, and yet thorough. And very kind. Dr. Bowcutt is just great, in skill and personally. He never wastes time or money on excess procedures, and yet knows how to prioritize most important treatments. He's kind, but candid about what is needed, and how the teeth are doing, ie, how my hygiene is working. Their scheduling is a breeze, and they get you in quickly if anything urgent comes up. They handle insurance flawlessly, and I found out they have a heart to help people in financial stress as well. All the hygienists that I have been met with upon each teeth cleaning appointment have been so pleasant, professional and friendly to work with as I have sometimes struggled with my mouth care, but they have always had kind words and patience and the fact that my neighbor referred me to them, and has been going to them for decades now is amazing and a testament to the loyalty and service that is impeccable when speaking on a local dentist that is less than a 5 min drive from our house! Dr. Bowcutt is also extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and when receiving any information from him, I always feel like he is extra helpful and valuable in giving me practical guidance and not upselling me on things. Which is amazing! I also recently referred my husband to pop over here after he had such severe mouth/jaw pain after Thanksgiving and had to go to urgent care and turns out he had a tooth abscess. He was able to get seen immediately and they were able to accommodate him as a new patient! That's unheard of! My husband's previous dentist he chose, Buttercup Dental, down the street (which we both got confused with for half the last year thinking we had been going to the same dental office ha!) didn't seem to care/ wasn't able to make the scheduling happen until later in the week. I also was able to get my fixed retainer rebonded, in and out, and at a practical price instead of having to go to an orthodontist who would've charged ridiculous prices. I'm honestly sold, and don't think I'll find any place better!! Ps. Sometimes you'll stumble upon Dr. Bowcutt's adorable dog! I can't even with the sweetest floof at the front desk! :)
