They pretend to be friendly during your first visit, but all they actually care about is wringing as much money out of your pocket as possible. Before my appointment, I explicitly asked if my entire initial visit was covered by my insurance. They said yes. When I arrived, I verified a second time before sitting in the chair again, they guaranteed everything was 100% covered and I wouldn't owe a dime. Then the surprise bill arrived. They performed an "advanced X-ray" I never requested or consented to, and passed the unapproved charge directly to me after insurance denied it. Every other dentist covers annual checkup X-rays under standard preventive care without issue, but this office deliberately tack on hidden fees. When I called them out on lying to my face twice about coverage, they simply refused to own up to their mistake and demanded payment anyway. On top of their shady billing tactics, their rates for basic dental procedures are vastly inflated compared to every other practice in the area. read more

I've been to plenty of dentist offices but APEX has to be the most technologically advanced clinic that accepts all major insurance. It's easy, simple, low key, I mean what else do you want from a simple, technicality advanced, laid back clinic? From getting an x ray, the center had a stand up 360 robotic scanner so you stand in 1 place and the machine takes a laser focused copy of your teeeth. No more having to sit and have these x ray bibs, having to clamp down with your teeth and taking over 20 slides. Shout out to Tonya for being the best dental hygienist. From educating me how to do modern teeth maintenance, being very very extremely gentile with the tools used for the cleaning, wiping down water on my face, I felt she really took care of me as a patient. I had my first dental visit here since having many problems managing my high blood pressure. I was not lectured or made to feel bad that I had not paid attention to it sooner . They under stood my problems of not being able to get there sooner . They were very solution based and explained every move to a tee. I appreciate them and their attitude and attention to detail. Most times patients are weary and have some sort of bad experience visiting a dentist I was put at ease and had one of the best dental hygienist I have ever seen. I was in the market for a new dentist as I switched jobs which means new dental insurance. The dentist I was going to didn't accept my new insurance. This place was listed as in my network and was close by. The selling point for me was the fact that they are opened on Saturday. As a new patient, I scheduled an appointment online. Convenient! I was able to fill out the new patient forms online before my visit. That's a plus. That way you're not scrambling to fill it out when you get there. I noticed when filling out the forms they were very interested in learning about your last dental experiences and if you had anxiety going to the dentist. They have a dog there to help with any anxiety. As I got to my first appointment, it was very clear that they still had that same attitude. They definitely want your experience to be awesome and that you don't feel intimidated at all. They had two gaming consoles in the waiting area and in the back they had three TVs. Two posted in front of you and one on the ceiling so you can watch while they clean your teeth or having a treatment done. Everything was all high tech and cool! The place has been opened since Feb 2019 and it is very clean in there. They have a list of things to help you feel comfortable while you're in the chair. I needed a blanket since I was cold! They offered me a warm towel at the end to wash off my hands/face. Very unique. Dr Andy Tran was very down to earth and I didn't feel rushed at all. He took a genuine interest to get to know me on my first visit and if there were any concerns I had about my teeth. after searching far and wide for a dental office that does wisdom teeth removal, i came across this one that was covered by my insurance. it seem to have the most decent reviews with a few not so decent, but most of the others i looked into seem far worse. the paperwork prior to my first appointment was a lot of questions, and i understand but just beware it isn't something you can do last minute haha it does take a few minutes. as soon as i walked into the office i was greeted by multiple people, they were helpful to my questions & made me feel at ease (: i really felt out of place for a moment bcus the office is just very well cared for and beautifully decorated. i want to point out, the rooms in the back where you're examined are a bit small, no windows in the two i were in, that's a problem for some but not for me (: my first appointment was a lot of xrays & questions. Tanya had still hands, was gentle and patient while checking my teeth (my jaw was stiff from my wisdom tooth coming out). she reassured me throughout my whole visit, answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable. after the all the exams, i was given a verbal clear & transparent rundown about the upcoming surgery bill, it was fairly simple really. even after seeing the bill, i left the appointment in a better mood than i came lol. my 2nd appointment was for all 4 wisdom teeth removal & boy was i nervous! BUT i wasn't nearly as nervous bcus from my last appointment i felt in good hands. again, office staff was welcoming from the moment i stepped in, answered all my questions (i ask lots & none seemed annoyed by that). i was taken back into the rooms & they explained the medications to me and assured me that the procedure was simple and even told me some silly previous stories from other wisdom teeth removals which made me feel settled. i was offered a blanket & a pillow & a tv remote to netflix.. after coming right from work, this was very much needed & i thank them from that lol. i was offered different options to take my meds, i opted for water but very nice to have options (: Dr Le came in a few minutes (15 minutes id say) after my arrival/when i had taken a few meds & at this point I had no questions, was just ready for it to be over with lol. Dr Le assured me with my one or two questions & was off to prep i was then given the sedative & a staff member (i'm very sad i don't recall her name) stayed & chatted with me (': until i knocked out hah but i really appreciate her kindness & conversation with me before my surgery, my nerves at this point (even without the sedative) were much at ease. the surgery went smoothly, i had fallen asleep before but woke up during & at most felt stings and pressure. i've had cavity fillings more painful so i was pleasantly surprised when i experienced minimally pain. (i will say, tbf, all my teeth was out, my procedure was really simple). the removal get like five minutes but i'm sure was longer. i was kept updated throughout, even though i was half there, i knew how things were going (: i got to keep my teeth (why not) & was given some aftercare information. they also let my ride know this information + gave sheets in case we forget. overall? i have not one bad thing to say about this office & am glad i didn't give too much into the negative reviews, because i loved my experience. after a previous not so great experience from another office, this office has changed my perspective of the dentists office. i look forward to my next appointment for cleaning (: read more

I contacted Apex on 9/22 explained I had broken a front tooth and was leaving for Europe on the following Monday. I was in desperate need to have it fixed as soon as possible. The amazing staff had me come in on the same day examined and created a plan of action. Never not once was i berated or made to feel bad for my neglect, they were very positive and said they would get it taken care of. I have neglected my teeth for more than 10 years as i had moved away from my old dentist who I thought was not replaceable. Due to my neglect, I needed deep cleaning and they also asked about repairing 2 of my back teeth that had also broken. They had me come in on 9/23 for half of cleaning and gum treatment. Then i came in on 9/25 and had the other half of cleaning, gum treatment, and 3 crowns put on. Not temp crowns permanent ones (same day). All of this work is 100% Top Notch and it was all done without IV sedation (a first for me) with out any PAIN or complications!!!! The level of service and care by everyone there is beyond belief. I have been a patient at Apex for almost a year. I have been hesitant to write a review because I hate the dentist. I figured something would go terribly wrong and I would regret writing a positive review. Today I had to have a tooth extracted. Their procedure was the most patient and caring experience I have ever had, period! They sent medications early and made sure I took them right before the procedure so that I was comfortable after. I felt a tiny pinch for one second as I was numbed, and then I felt absolutely nothing during the entire procedure. Everyone has always been patient with me and they are not pushy at all when it comes to my dental care. I love how they are always checking up on me after a more invasive procedure, like a deep cleaning. This is a dentist that I am no longer terrified of! This place looks impressive and the people are very nice. However, I got one of the most painful deep cleanings of my life. Afterwards I was given bad after care advice which wrecked my teeth. I am STILL dealing with the effect two years later. Another periodontist confirmed their bad advice. Even worse, they contacted me later and told me I owed them hundreds of dollars more because the cleaning was not covered fully on my insurance. They stopped calling when I told what a mess they left my teeth. Also, the entire time the super nice dental assistant was pushing hard for me to purchase some sort of teeth trays to wear at night. First time visiting Apex dental studio as a patient! Dr.Andy and his team are wonderful. From start to finish they were very accommodating. The girls at the front, I believe their names were Stephanie and Tanya made me feel at ease. The check in process was seamless and I didn't have to wait too long to get seated in the back. At first I was a bit worried about visiting the dentist during Covid, but they are super cautious. Overall my experience felt like a spa. From the refreshments to the massaging dental chair with big screen TVs all around you. I don't even feel like I'm in a dental office anymore. So we made appointments for my son and daughter for cleanings. We went to those appointments and were told that my daughter had 8 cavities. Yes EIGHT. We were quoted over $2300 but since we purchased the dental plan it took a few hundred off. Something told me to get a second opinion. Which I am so glad we did. Best dental experience like pretty much in my entire life. I had gone to another practice that made some pretty bold statements about me needing a bunch of work done. Well, I opted to go out of network and private pay at Apex. To be honest, working with Becky as a dental hygienist alone would be worth every penny. I have a lot of shame around my teeth due to repeated orthodontia and just not prioritizing dental care as a child but she completely put me at ease. This office is super cool and relaxing. I've never seen so many amenities and considerations! Mario Kart up front, massage dental chairs, offered movies and scenery... it was actually relaxing. I was happy at this practice for a while, although I paid far more out of pocket than I previously had at the dentist but i continued to be seen. Last week, at my routine cleaning, at check in , I was handed the tablet to sign for consent and I realized they had me scheduled for X-rays AGAIN- I had just had them at my last visit. I pointed out to the front office person and she removed it but I thought that was weird, since they are always on top of that. after I had my cleaning, the doctor insisted that I needed additional "deep cleanings" every 3 months, when I asked for him, very politely, to review my X-rays with me to show me the need for additional cleanings, he became very quiet and looked very cold. I work in the medical field and patients absolutely have a right to ask questions. Long story short, you will pay more out of pocket to this office and double check the consent form as well as get a second opinion, if warranted. We had just moved to Hutto and needed a new family dentist. My husband had an appointment first. He was there for over two hours and all that was done was a bunch of x-rays. Was told he needed a deep cleaning which he had done less than a year ago. That was a bit odd, but thought nothing of it. My daughter and I came for our appointment a week after. We walked in everyone seemed very pleasant. They had a fridge full of drinks, coffee, video game system and even asked what we wanted to watch on Netflix while we waited in the exam room. I thought wow this is pretty fancy. We were there for over 2 hours as well and all that was done was a bunch of x-rays. I was also told that I needed a deep cleaning however I too just had one done less than a year ago. Again thought it was odd because I really take care of my teeth. Floss everyday and brush twice a day. Then for my daughter they did some x-rays and a quick cleaning then I was told she had 10 cavities. I thought wow that's crazy she takes care of her teeth and is limited on junk food and sweets. Again odd but okay. I have pretty good dental insurance and was told my deep cleaning would be over $300 because I had one done less than a year ago the insurance wouldn't cover it. As for my daughter's 10 cavities they wanted to charge over $500. I thought this was really expensive compared to our previous dentist. About a week later I called to make an appointment for my daughter to get her cavities taken care of I spoke to Linda, the dentist's wife/co-owner/office manager she said that I would have to pay 30% over the phone to get the appointment. I thought that was insane I never had to pay for dental services prior to an appointment. She said it was to make sure I keep my appointment. I understand people no show to their appointments but I don't think it's fair to charge prior. Usually there's a no show fee and you bill them when they don't show up. I told her forget it and we would go elsewhere. She called back about 15 minutes later and said she talked to the owner "herself" and that they would make a one time exception and would not collect payment until after. I declined because I thought just a one time exception? What about the next time? I just didn't like this practice of business. Once I declined there was a shift in pleasantry in her voice. I asked for my x-rays and she said she would email it to me. I gave it a week and didn't get it. I had to call back and ask for them again. I was just going to write this off as a bad experience and just move on however I got a second opinion with another dentist. Turns out my daughter only had 2 cavities cost about $50 and I didn't need a deep cleaning after all. I just want to make sure they don't scam anymore people out of their hard earned money. I just had my permanent upper implants put in .I was there for about 4 hours . It was very relaxing and comfortable. The young lady who assisted Dr. Andy was Ercie. She was extremely dedicated to her work and was very pleasant to work with. She was very precise and was very detail oriented . I had a crown (that my previous dentist put on) break on a Sunday. I mean, it just shattered. Luckily there was no pain, but when I called his office the next day I found out that they don't take my insurance. I googled a few places, and then remembered that Apex Dental Studio was literally one minute from my office. I had met Dr. Andy before his practice opened and was impressed with how nice he was. I called his office and they let me know that their office accepts my insurance, and that they could get me in at 5:00 that same day. I was relieved! Their office is immaculate, very clean and modern with the most up-to-date dental equipment. They have a hand-held x-ray thing so you don't even get up from the chair. I was expecting to have to have the dreaded goop put in my mouth for an impression to get the crown, but they have this super modern hand-held thing that takes LOTS of pictures of your teeth and composes them into a digital image that they can send to the lab who makes the crown. I've never seen anything like it! It is literally the most high-tech sorcery I've ever seen in a dental office They stayed late at that visit, working until 7:30 pm to get me a temporary crown. I really appreciated that. I went back today to have the permanent crown set, and have scheduled a cleaning with them. This is my new dentist, y'all! I plan on bringing my family on board as well. I went in as a new customer for a regular dental cleaning. My first impressions were good, the staff was friendly, nice facility, etc. I had a few cavities that needed to be filled and got a quote. It seemed a bit higher than what I was used to with my insurance and I voiced my concern to who I assume was the billing department. I was told that different dental offices have different rates with insurance companies, and they charge different rates for the depth of the cavities. I fully understand the insurance thing, but the quote was still pretty high, so I got another opinion somewhere else. Apex's quote was triple the amount of the other place. When I called to cancel my next cleaning, my call was not taken kindly. The lady I spoke to no longer had the same friendliness I had encountered on my first visit, and she quickly mentioned that they would have price matched if I had brought in a quote (which was never mentioned with my initial quote when I brought up my concerns about what they wanted to charge me after insurance). The rest of the call made me feel as if she wanted me to feel bad about doing my own research and taking my business elsewhere. I cannot say enough amazing things about this office. Took a fall yesterday and managed to crack 5 teeth. They got me in within an hour of me calling today for an emergency appointment, - seeing my teeth fixed now, you'd never be able to tell by looking that I had that amount of work done. We found Dr. Andy through our neighbor recommendation. We needed a new dentist we could trust. I took the family all different ages 2, 6, 12, 14 my husband and I. I'll be honest we all had a little anxiety as our dental experience hasn't always been the best. From the beginning the staff made us feel at ease, they offered us drinks the kids played video games in the waiting area. Once we went to the back we were asked what we wanted to watch on Netflix and showed us how to use the massage chair as they worked. Dr. Andy was so clear in what the process was going to be which helped with our nerves. Dr. Andy listened to our concerns/comments and recommended a treatment plan in 3 stages. My 6year old who normally would freak out had an amazing two visits, we broke her treatment down so she doesn't have a bad experience. She is excited to go back! She has so much more confidence in her smile with just the two fillings she received! I myself had a lot of build up and Dr. Andy was able to clean it all off on my first visit which just left me in awe I felt so confident smiling!! Dr. Andy doesn't recommend any crazy treatment that is not necessarily. My kiddos left with a little toy from the machine and of course a toothbrush. Great service, great treatment plans, great payment options, great hours and great environment! We HIGHLY recommend Dr. Andy and his staff!! read more
