Brb, still dreaming about their mushroom toast... This Caracas Bakery is located in the MiMo district. I came here to co-work and am so glad I did... minus the construction noise they had going on at the time. This is was super loud and disruptive but I also know this was a one-off experience since they won't have construction all the time so they sit at five stars, still. This spot is a great place to grab a coffee (or matcha) & bite to get some work done or catch up with a friend. Glad I got to do both here! The inside is minimal but gives great lighting and reliable wifi. Now for the food. If you like mushroom, the mushroom toast is a MUST. This comes with Herbed Farmer's Cheese, mushrooms, and caramelized onions on toast. Might sound ordinary, but this toast is probably one of my most favorite food items, ever. Not sure what herbed cheese they use but it's delicious. The matcha was good but they were also having some problems with their lids when I came so I kept spilling when I'd take a sip. Popped in over the weekend for a quick lunch and omg we were not expecting this level of deliciousness. I had the ham and cheese roll that was so good - the dough is sweet and so yummy so it's got that sweet/savory thing happening. My husband got the lamb toast that was insane. I decided to check out caracas bakery because a few friends mentioned it to me and I checked out their page which totally looked like my vibe... and it truly was! Located in Mimo District, right next to Doggi's and in front of El Bagel. This bake shop offers french style pastries + Venezuelan favorites like cachitos and pan de quesos... I mean what more could you ask for?! I've never been to a Venezuelan/French bakery but it's best combo ever. period. From the spinach and ricotta pastelitos to the almond croissant everything was incredibly delicious. Oh! and their mushroom toast is a MUST. It's actually out of this world. With caramelized onions and a cheese spread, I devoured it in 2 minutes. Service was great and everyone was super friendly. It felt like a spot where I'd want to become a regular at. I would skip out on the croissant, this one wasn't the best croissant. But, I would come back to try other things on the menu. I went to Caracas Bakery over the weekend. I tried going before for a weekend brunch but they weren't serving anything with egg after 2pm so I made it with enough time this weekend to try a couple of things. The Bakery is a bit under construction outside and a little bit inside. Mostly finished inside it seems. The staff are mostly nice, with some staff being friendlier than others. They have a little vinyl area coming together which seems cool. The decor is minimalistic and modern but is comfortable for seating. We ordered the croix sandwich which was a croissant with egg, cheddar, tomato and avocado ($14). I also ordered the crispy potatoes ($7) that come with a garlic aioli and an iced latte. The sandwich was really delicious. The croissant was truly the perfect crunch and flake and the eggs were one of the best consistencies I've tried at any breakfast place. Super moist and flavorful. I really enjoyed the sandwich. I felt it was a bit overpriced but still was tasty. The crispy potatoes looked crispy but unfortunately were not. They also lacked flavor. The garlic sauce helped a bit but not too much. They also don't have ketchup here which I feel would have helped with the potatoes. The latte was pretty good. When we finished the sandwich, we decided we wanted to try another egg dish and I went to order at the counter a few minutes before 2pm but they said the kitchen was closed. I asked what time they closed the kitchen and they said 2pm but the bakery was open until 5pm. She said she'd ask but they said no. I could still see breakfast orders coming actively from the kitchen but they didn't want to accommodate another order. So definitely keep in mind they are strict with their breakfast cut off so definitely try to order by 1:45pm or you won't make the cut. Overall, definitely a bakery with a lot to offer and really fresh items. I do feel the food and pastries are quite overpriced for what you get but at least you know the quality will be good. read more

I am excited to mention that this is my new favorite bakery! I was looking for a Venezuelan bakery in the area and I'm so glad I found this one! They have a variety of Venezuelan-French options. Located in a small plaza, the only thing that can be a hassle is the parking since it's limited and it's shared among the other businesses, but luckily I was able to find street parking behind the restaurant. On weekends it does get busy, so try to secure a spot inside if not there are tables out front. Once inside you can place your order at the register and wait until your order is ready. We got the Pan Dulce, almond croissant, and the Nutella cruffin which is the perfect assortment for those who have a sweet tooth ;) We also got the Salmon Toast which was also delicious and pretty filling. I got the avocado toast with (soft) scrambled eggs on top and a macchiato. The woman who took my order warned me that the macchiato would be small, but it was even smaller than I thought it would be. It was also VERY strong! I asked for oat milk in it, but I didn't taste any oat milk at all. I ended up getting an iced latte to go and mixed the rest of the macchiato into it because it was so strong. My husband and I shared a golfeado which looks like a cinnamon roll, but the worker there warned me that it actually has brown sugar and cheese in it. It was very delicious. The orange juice my husband got was the freshest I've ever tasted. The worker who checked me out was very friendly and it was so cool to watch the breads being made right in front of me. Like many others state in their reviews, the food at Caracas bakery is good; I had a handful of dishes and pastries that were all flavorful and fresh. As much as I am a foodie and appreciate a good bite, I also need to be equally aware of the service and attention an establishment provides. Because although that does not impact the food directly, it makes a hell of a difference in the overall experience and mood I feel when I leave with my tummy full. I came with a friend on a Saturday morning to eat and get some work done (computer use). We were seated for about 1 hour without a computer in sight chatting and eating- no biggie. We get our computers out and start to do work when we were rudely told there is "prohibited computer use on the weekends". Though I can definitely understand this as it helps with traffic and getting other customers seated, there were AMPLE seats open. The fact that we were basically forced to leave (for no good reason) is absolutely unacceptable. I also did not see this rule enforced anywhere-- I would have not come here otherwise if I knew this. Overall, everyone seems to be rushed. The employees walking around come by at least once every 5 minutes to try to pick up your plates. Not a fun way to have your conversation interrupted when your plate is full and clearly not ready to be picked up. I very rarely, if ever, leave one-star reviews, but my experience today was deserving of it. read more

This is a new bakery that I stumbled across on the way to another restaurant in the area. This is their second location in Miami and upon arrival it was very busy which is a good thing. The staff was very friendly and helpful with explaining the different pastries and food they offer. They serve breakfast and coffee, tea and juice as well. I tried their cheese puffy pastry and it was good but more dough than cheese. My mom tried the spinach and ricotta she liked it but felt it was pastry than filling. I just want to start by saying that I'm in my "if you don't have something nice to say..." era. But this is a bit egregious. We arrived before 2pm, around 145pm the latest, we live less than 15 minutes away. Ordered a whole loaf of sourdough, drinks, a croissant sandwich, and salmon platter. I kid you not, we didn't receive the full order until 2:35pm. It took over 40 minutes to receive something that should've taken 10 minutes at most? The place wasn't busy. To add, my boyfriend was initially given the wrong order which was an item over $5 less expensive (the salmon toast as opposed to the platter). He's late to a rehearsal that is an hour away. This may seem petty, but we didn't realize we'd need to plan an hour of time to pick up a quick bite at a bakery? I would've chosen not to leave a review, except nobody acknowledged anything at any point in the 40+ minutes we were waiting. No apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. Once we started to get antsy (this was 25+ minutes in) they noticed and I over heard them say to each other in Spanish "that order takes a bit"... it's a croissant with egg, avocado, and a tomato. The bread was already made. The toast was incorrect but had it been correct was literally just toast with some spread and some salmon. It's just ridiculous. While we were waiting we even saw someone else receive their order who arrived much later than we did. I've been so excited to check this place out and start buying bread here. Cute spot. Guy who took our order was amicable. But if you mess up, just apologize and let people know instead of pretending nothing happened. Kinda crazy that it took over half an hour for someone to realize nobody had brought our food. Disrespectful and inconsiderate. Pictures are of the food we ended up having to take to go and the time we left. I checked the Ring camera to see when we left our place, it was 130. I am writing this review and just got home and it is 252 (10 minute drive). Wtf lol. I would literally not have left a review at all if one single person had just said "sorry for the mixup/delay", the smallest gesture.
