Had a great experience today with this business. Had a carburetor problem that I could just not get adjusted to hold a good idle. I spoke with Raul and he answered my questions and even went out to my vehicle to help me understand what my issue was. A few twists of a screwdriver and my vehicle purred like I've never heard it! I had never been to this shop before but it will not be the last vehicle I take and refer to. They do motorcycles, too. Parking is not that great most of the time, but be patient about that. The shop is not anything pretty to look at but it seems they do more than carbs. Their business card says general auto repair. It makes sense because there are stations inside the shop to do bench work and I even saw some motor heads sitting on a counter. I will definitely recommend them and come back. Straight up... If you want people who have mastered the dying art of knowing how to fix a carburetor then these are your guys. In fact if you go to any shop in town, they are either going to convince you to replace your carburetor with a new one or send it out to these guys anyway. The guy there even told me that if the car didn't run after installing the carburetor within my capacity. That I could bring it in so they could diagnose a troubleshoot problem. My Land Cruiser broke down and I spent a week trying to figure it out but I finally ended up getting it towed here. I rebuilt the carburetor myself but I still was having problems. Over the phone I was told it was going to be about five hours of work and I would get it back the same day. It ended up taking three days to get it back so be aware if you need you car quickly. He tried to get a new base for my carb, but couldn't get a hold of one so he adjusted the carb to make up for the extra air flow. I thought it might be more because It took so long, but I payed the same price as we agreed on when I sent it in. The cruiser runs great now, even better than before I had any problems. I will definitely be coming back here if I have any more carburetor problems. read more

It then went to some heads & then his dumb ass & crew did not do a compression test on the block, all to find out weeks later..... I blown it! So now I am doing everything again & he is charging me for all the gaskets & all the lifters ect. Ect. I remind you... My car has been at his shop since a day before Thanksgiving 2015. We have been going here since 2001. Manny and Robert have been the only people that we have brought our fuel systems to ever since. I have yet to find a better shop for fuel issues like carburetors. Why? Not only do these guys understand fuel systems, but they are an actual mechanic shop, meaning that they can really fix stuff. Let me be more clear: we have a bunch of old classic cars, there is no computer to tell lazy or rookie mechanics what to do. Most shops would not take our cars because they do not know how to work on a real engine. Other shops try and fail to solve problems. Manny has experience and skills, he can fix real problems that cars without computers have. I have seen him doing many newer cars as well, so yes, Manny has computer diagnostic tools but his skills are way beyond most places that we had been to. Recently they have expanded beyond fuel/carburetors and so far we have been pleased, when we do ask for something outside of their specialty, they have done quite well for us. Manny has turned away stuff that we needed done that was not within his skills, so we trust him and that trust is not easy to earn but really easy to lose. But he is the first person that we call, and our first choice for where to get our cars repaired. The ONLY downside is that word is out and this place is so busy all of the time. If we are not in a rush and can spare the time: this is one of our first choices for quality, performance and price. The ONLY reason why we share this gem is because old cars have fewer problems and our troubles are rare enough that we do not need repairs often. (Part of that is due to the quality of this shop which does more work on our cars than all others combined). But when we do need service here, we just figure that it will be a few days to get it done and this shop is worth the wait. read more

DO NOT. DO NOT. DO NOT GO HERE !!! I have a 1987 Toyota pickup. I took it in 2 yrs ago to have the carburetor rebuilt. They charged me about $330. Then it wouldn't pass smog. Took it back to this place again. He preceded to tell me I needed to replace the check engine light. He took my car apart, another $80 and then he said, oh...there is no check engine light! Then he told me I needed the EGR cleaned. Another $120. Mind you, each time we had work done he REFUSED to give me a receipt. He said, if there's a problem I'll remember you. So now back to the smog place. AGAIN, it DIDN'T pass smog. Took it to another shop where they charged me $50 because Carburetor Land had some wires crossed. Guess what? It finally PASSED smog after about $580. Let's fast forward to about 2 months ago. I took my truck to another shop to have some work done. The new shop took my truck to have it smogged. It failed!!! It just so happens that the new shop takes their vehicles to Carburetor Land when they have carburetor issues. Guess what? I only put on about 4400 miles and Carburetor Land told my new repair shop that my carburetor needed to be RE-BUILT AGAIN!!!!! Image that, another $300+ dollars to re-build my carburetor after only 4400 miles. There was no way in hell I was going to pay that rip-off Carburetor Land any more money to repair my truck. I'm certain they used old bent parts to re-build my carburetor. Read some of the other reviews here. There are similar complaints. Needless to say, my truck had a few more minor repairs done and guess what? It PASSED smog without having to be ripped off by Carburetor Land again !!!!!!!!BEWARE. BEWARE. BEWARE. Took single barrel carb charged me about 130$. They had to rebuild 2 times because a bad float apparently. The third time they said they couldnt because i had touched it too much [which i didnt] since they tuned it for me after. Shop is unproffessional and very small. Wasted $130 on a carb they could rebuilt. Bought a new one of ebay works fine. A bit overpriced now have learned how to rebuild carbs save yourself alot of money and buy a $30 kit. Got my 1977 Toyota Celica carburetor replaced here. I initially went to a Toyota repair shop but since they only use OEM and the parts were unavailable, they weren't able to help me. I did some research and saw that this shop was just down the street. I called and they said they could do it and at a price that was more than reasonable! I had my car dropped off there and they worked on it asap. Their lot is tiny and full of cars (busy with many customers) so do them a favor and be available to pick up the car asap! Unfortunately, since I was out of state, I couldn't get anyone to pick it up right away. However, they were nice enough to hold it until it could be moved. Sorry guys but thanks for holding it! As soon as I got back to California (couple of months later), I got my car smog checked and it passed with flying colors! The smog technician complemented the work! They even had me come back to re-tune afterwards as part of the service (remember it's been 2 months since!) I got there and it was full as can be but they helped me in a few minutes to do the adjustment. I must have been there for 15 mins tops! Their shop was clean and organized with all the tools and enough employees to get the job done. Legit, legit, legit! Manny and the team are awesome. This Place is a Rip Off The person who stated he was the Owner "Manuel " . We agreed he was going to rebuild my 283 small block motor and transmission and undercarriage/ arms /shocks..in my 57 Chevy stepside. He said it would take a month.. charged me $4500.. I gave him 1/2 on start .. going every 2 weeks 2 make a payment. My truck was left outside his gate where he pulled the motor and tran. The homeless lived in it for 5 months..dented scratched and broke the wood bed slats.. To find out he "Manuel " switched my 283 engine worth $12,000 rebuilt. With a 327 engine.. and put a different 3 speed transmission in it.. a 327 with a 3speed? His helpers even told me you can't drive on the freeway in it?? I was like this truck goes 100 miles and hour.. He moved my motor mounts, to make the 327 fit . I called the BBC And filed a complaint..to find out Manuel is not the Owner.. Im waiting for $ to take Carburetor land to court.. and i have the BBC ( Better Business Bueru) report. Do Not get ripped off from this place.. He never gave me recipes for my deposits. Lied about everything. Never replaced undercarriage Thank God. But never told me he didn't till i picked it up, when he said there's a grind coming from inside the motor.. then he said he knew what it was and said the transmission wasn't aligned? After picking it up on the drive home it broke down. My clutch hit the floor.. after towing it back, it took another day ,then the next morning, started it and sounded like something was grinding. I took a video that I will show in court along with All my paperwork stating he changed my 283 motor with a 3 speed transmission with a 327 motor with a 3 speed transmission.. which to run right would need a 4 speed.. Took my single barrel carb off my nova and had them rebuild it. Excellent job just plug and play. They offered to tune it for free but it already runs/works perfectly out the box so it was a nice gesture. I will use these guys in the future. Parking sucks but worth the walk. read more

Brought boat carburetor in June 2014. They rebuilt it. Fast forward to June 2015 carburetor doesn't work at the lake. Brought to carburetor guy at lake and he found all junk parts in it along with remnants of the old gaskets. I would not recommend this place of business. read more

seriously... if you ever need anything done with a carburetor dont go anywhere but carburetor land! ive been here 3 times, once for a rebuild, another time for a rebuild on one i had rebuilt that this other shop did 3 times and still couldnt get it right! and again last week to have them fix a botched job that some other butthole did. they put a two barrel on my van, tuned it to perfection, and it runs better than it ever has! every time i go anywhere but here i get totally screwed so do yourself the favor. did i mention theyre super cheap? and you can wait while they do it? i love this place. customer for life! read more

My father used to come to this place 40 years ago get all the work done on his cars, well I guess a lot has changed since them days just not the name. I brought in single barrel carburetor and asked have it rebuilt took it home put it on my truck it not only didn't work it also leaked everywhere, I took it back and they rebuilt it again so I thought at first they told me I needed to pay another hundred forty five dollars but then I mentioned that I was told I could bring it back if it didn't work r if I needed him to adjust it when I was on my truck, I explained my truck was 20 miles away the carburetor didn't work and they asked me not to tell it there cuz there's nowhere for the tow truck to drop it off. So anyways they rebuilt it are they told me they did I bring it back to my truck still won't work I take it to another mechanic who had to rebuild it again tell me parts or bent inside and other parts just working right so I pay them 145 another guy 350 maybe I should have just bought a new carburetor anyways I gave them two stars because they did rebuild it the second time I brought it in. Well, finally yesterday I was able to make it over there after work. all i can say is. if anyone needs carburetor work or any work for that matter, you have to go there. I pulled up and Robert came up to me asking what he could do to help. i told him i had issues with my Carb, and within seconds he diagnosed my problem. I also met an older gentleman(looked like the owner) great guy. they are all good guys. Very inviting, felt like family. 45min and a great deal $ later, I was on my way home with my vehicle running better than new. thank you guys once again.
