I needed to replace my front and rear brakes on my 2018 Equinox. I received many different quotes from other mechanics, quoting me over $300 for labor only. I reached out to Refined Auto with the same request, and it was a more reasonable price, especially since I had no idea if I needed to do anything to my rotors. My dad was present while Cesar worked on my car, and my dad gave me such a glowing review of how Cesar worked. My dad has not been able to stop talking about how Cesar did an amazing job on my car, how clean he works, how he keeps his tools, and his communication. My dad was so impressed with the quality of work Cesar provided on my car that he decided to get a quote for replacing his rotors. When Ceasr finished on my car, he let me know that my brake fluid was not in good condition. He drained my brake fluid and replaced it with new fluid. He explained to me in detail that brake fluid should not be topped off. I had no idea, and apparently, my dad didn't know either, and we had topped it off because it was low. Now, I know, for future reference, that when it's low, I should replace my brakes. I appreciate the work that Cesar did on my car and his communication. My car wouldn't start randomly one evening so I reached out to a bunch of auto repair companies on Yelp for quotes. Refined Auto Repair responded back within the evening quoting $50 for diagnosis and the diagnosis fee will go towards any repair cost if necessary and agreed on the same day. This was a far better deal than the 10 other shops I inquired for quotes (typically $100 for diagnosis fee or flat $350 fee for total repair). This is mobile only so be prepared to schedule a visit meaning it will take a a couple of days if they are busy. Caesar came over at 1pm on a Sunday. Immediately figured out it was a battery issue due to a weak start and the fact that my battery was 6 years old. We hashed out the details for the total repair cost which I was happy enough to take the deal. He mentioned the battery he will provide will have a 3 year warranty (I am going to quote this on 12/15/2024 in the future) and he will swap out the old battery for a new one if 3 years hasn't lapsed which should be easy because the battery was purchased under his account. He also mentioned his battery should last about it 5-6 years. He took out the old battery and tried cleaning the battery terminal which was eroded and hardened due to years of battery acid seeping in. As he was cleaning the terminal, I asked him details on how one can tell if the issue is the starter or the battery and he explained that if it was the starter, the car wouldn't start at all but mine had a weak start instead. After 10 minutes of attempting to clean it, it was concluded that the battery acid had hardened the terminal to the point where the latches wouldn't release so he replaced the battery terminal with a new one free of charge and then he went off to purchase my new battery. Caesar came back within 20 months and the new battery was replaced and the car was up and running smoothly. The whole ordeal took about an hour. Zelle was the preferred payment method. Caesar mentioned he also does variety of other things such as oil change, etc so I had him check my oil and it was fine. I will definitely be reaching out to Caesar in the future for my auto repair needs. Update: After the battery replacement, my car still ran into problems although a weak start was no longer the issue. What ended up happening was that the engine would rumble when idling and there would be a delay in acceleration after stopping the car at stop signs and even turned off occasionally. Caesar came by two more times to diagnosis the issue over the span of two weeks and he was able to clean the throttle body which finally fixed the issue! I had some doubts at first but Caesar came through. Apparently the throttle body had too much gunk in it which prevent enough air flow into the car. I am very happy with the results. read more

I brought my car in to have the water pump replaced, which was the only known issue with my vehicle at the time. Before the work was done, my car was able to start and drive. The only problem I was dealing with was a dead battery less than two weeks prior. While I do appreciate that the water pump itself was replaced, my vehicle was returned to me in significantly worse condition. My car now does not start at all. I was later told that during the repair process, a mistake was made because the technician chose to "roll the dice" instead of properly testing or diagnosing the vehicle before beginning the work. I was also told there could have been other issues, but that cannot be confirmed since no attempt was made to test or start the car beforehand. What was originally an approximately $800 repair has now turned into over $1,500 in additional diagnostic and repair costs. This is extremely frustrating and concerning, as basic diagnostic steps should be standard before performing major repairs. I would strongly recommend that others make sure their vehicle is properly tested and documented before authorizing work here. My experience resulted in my car being left in worse condition and significantly increased costs. The point of my complaint isnt about the money that was sent back because a rightful person would send the money back if they made the issue biggerwhich they did. I appreciate them sending me my money back and continuing to fix the water pump. My issue is the NEW cost i am going to have to now pay due to the mistakes the mechanic made; in conclusion thank you for sending the money back it's the right thing to do when a mistake is made that big. read more

Can't recommend this mechanic enough. He came to me and extracted two broken bolts on the top of my engine that another mechanic broke and didn't finish, which caused another issue. He also replaced my valve cover gasket, making sure everything was done the right way and not rushed. His prices are great, but the quality of work is even better. Paid to have my brakes replaced, only to have my brakes sound even worse AFTER having them "replaced". The tech didn't text me that he'd be late until the time he was already supposed to be here. He showed up an hour late, charged me more than the quoted price, and my brakes sounded like crap the very next morning. I complained and was sent back the difference from what was charged and told to let them know so they can come back and check my brakes. Took my car to a few other mechanics to get looked at since then and all agreed I got ripped off. Contacted this place again and never heard back. Don't waste your money.
