I went to High Tech the morning after hurricane Sandy had blown through our end of Abington, PA. I didn't know I was going there that day - but they really came through for me. The morning after Sandy my portable generator wouldn't start, and our area had power loss - I needed to get it running. So I packed my family in the car and the generator, looking for someone (some kind of shop) to take a look at it. I drove around for a bit and nobody was open - Except High Tech Automotive! I pulled up and talked to Sean (the owner) and his technician about my generator, they felt they could help me. The technician (wish I could remember his name) said he was really familiar with small engines (motorcycles, atv's, etc) and that he could get it started. I left the generator with them and took my family out for a warm meal. Came back an hour later and sure enough - my generator was running the way it was supposed to - just the way it had a few months prior. Turns out the carb had some bad fuel in it, and that was the culprit. The technician was spot-on and even cleaned up the carb for me. He demonstrated that it would start right back up, so I knew it was fixed well. Here's the best part - I went into the shop's office to pay for the job and I was expecting to take a hit in the wallet - Sean was totally reasonable and just charged me for less than 1 hour of labor, I think I paid $75 or something like that - I know I left feeling like it was a great deal. Really good to know that I could find someone to fix my generator, but even better to find a shop that was Good/Fast/Honest. Thanks Sean (and your guy) for coming through when I needed you to. You kept the lights on in my house for the next week+, and my family warm. Appreciate what you did today just as much as I did that day. My generator is still running well. - I know they do alot more than small engines there - this is a Cottman Avenue area automotive shop that does it all - If you're in that area and you need your car fixed check them out.

Their spots for cars is very small so you have to pack patients when you come, as sometimes they do not have a lift for your car so you may have to come back or schedule an appointment. The workers are very nice. They have a waiting area for you. They also have a bench that you can sit on outside when the weather is nice. They make sure the service that they do is done correctly. If something is not right, they do what's needed to make it right. I feel like their prices are reasonable And they communicate with you about charges before work is done. I took my car again, & when I picked it up, they simply had spray painted the junkyard mirror and put it back on. it's not even the correct size--the enclosure doesn't even snap closed. They charge for new and salvage from junkyards. TOTAL HACKS.

I didn't get notified of the diagnosis until 4pm and couldn't get my car back until the next day. The humming noise could not be identified and suggested I change a tie rod. I thought this was the issue. I called on Tuesday morning to get an estimated time to pick up my car I was told 3pm. I arrived on time at 3pm since I had to get to work that evening, I was charged for the tie rod and sent on my way. Driving back home, I noticed the humming sound was still there and even louder. I looked at the repair bill and it stayed that the humming sound was possibly from the rear differential and could cost upwards of 2k dollars, I was shocked they didn't tell me this in person when I picked up the car. I called to get more information on this and they told me they could not exactly point out the source of the humming sound and that they were only 70% sure it was the rear differential. For 2k I wasn't sure if I could trust them to do the repairs given my experience so far. I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication and lack of solution finding to the problem I walked in with. About an hour later, I didn't feel safe with the car driving as is and called back asking to go ahead with the rear differential repair. They told me that they will shop around for parts and give me a call back. It is now Thursday and have not heard back from the shop. Terrible service. Go somewhere else

The first accident insurance was handled with insurance. The second accident was out of pocket since the guy who hit me was uninsured and the car was a lot closer to me trading in with nearly 130,000 miles. In 2017 they worked with my insurance company and were able to work with me with the deductible. They knew I was looking at keeping this car for a while and wanted it to be worth as much as it could be when it was trade-in time. Last week they knew I was paying cash (the guy who hit me was uninsured) for a car with 130,000 miles on it. I was on the fence on fixing it or taking the hit and trading it in. They took a $1,600 estimate (which was $500 cheaper than the other company who looked at it), said they could do it for $1,200, and then the bill came in at only $1,100 because they were able to repair a headlight instead of replacing it. The one constant was that they were always professional to deal with and whether working with my insurance company's money or my own, gave me a car that looked like it was never in an accident, let alone two of them. They own a dealership too. When it's time to trade it in, I know where I am going first.

I'd read that my car's particular paint color (Mazda Soul Red Crystal Metallic) is notoriously difficult to match. As it turned out, the first time the new paint was applied, there was some flaw in the paint product itself, so John and team had to completely repeat the paint job from scratch. In the end it was obvious they had devoted a very high level of care and attention to this job! Not only did John and his team perfectly repair the dents in the door, but the paint job is immaculate and perfectly matched to the rest of the car. The car is perfect, and they even added a beautiful coat of wax. Plus, John had noticed that my battery was low and wasn't charging well, so he replaced the car battery at no extra charge.
