I am absolutely disgusted with this company dropped my car off at the mechanic he did the teardown and waited for their carchex inspector to come. The inspector came told my mechanic The repair was approved. The next day after my car had been put back together and I had rented a car for two days that was also supposed to be covered FYI. I got a call from carchex letting me know that my Repair was not approved and I would have to pay out of pocket. I would've never had such an expensive repair done and I would've not have rented a car for two days. I am out the $1500 for repair and over $3000 to a car warranty protection that just left me hanging and lied to me and my mechanic. Buyer beware absolutely do not use this company. read more

Both he and the warranty parameters passed with flying colors and I'm excited to say I'm quite happy with my decision to go with Carchex. Slight hiccup on communicated quote but was contacted in less than 24 hours and the manager (Tevon) helped explain/resolve the situation quickly. I'd highly recommend anyone who is on the fence with which warranty company they should choose to contact my particular sales rep directly as he was able to answer all of my ridiculous "will you cover this, when that happens..." type of questions AND did so by backing them up with real world scenarios from previous BBB reviews. I purchased a vehicle inspection for a car in Houston, Texas. First off, it's a vehicle inspection ride. The Carchex person does not drive the vehicle. The term "test drive" used in the advertisement is misleading. I got the service in reasonable time with a documented report. I purchased the vehicle partially based on the contents of the report. I have had the car in my possession for a little more than a week. The electrical problems are extensive. A/C does not work. Fan speed does not work, Radio does not work. Missing 6 CD changer. Interior lighting does not work. Homelink does not work. Additionally brakes squeal every time stopping. None of these items were mentioned on the report. In fact, these categories I'm sure they fall into the often used "all was functioning at the time of inspection." If that were true, that would mean in the short time between inspection and receiving the car, someone took the time to mess up all these items. RIDICULOUS! Don't waste your money on this service. Purchased an extended Platinum warranty with CARCHEX from Pine Belt Chevrolet in Lakewood, NJ after buying a 2011 Chevy Equinox. Was hearing a noise coming from under the car yesterday. Made an appointment with Pine Belt Service Dept. to have it checked out. The service department advised me that it needed to have a wheel bearing replaced. The service writer, Mary Wiggett is still waiting for the approval for the repair. It's been over 3 hours and no response from the CARCHEX customer service. While I've been waiting I read the Platinum warranty which indicates the repair is covered. Paying good money every month for the Platinum Warranty. One of the worst companies to deal with and I am so glad that I decided to cancel my warranty plan. They're super fast to get you a warranty, set up interest free payment plans and get your credit card info for the first payment. DO NOT GET CAUGHT!! Hold time for sales - 0.5 seconds. I am not sure about the quality of the warranty coverage, however; This company behaves like a used car company (The shady kind). As I type, I have been on the phone for one hour and twenty-three minutes trying to cancel my policy. I have been hung up on, then repeatedly transferred to the "Right Department" and left on hold. I am so thrilled I called to cancel. Initially, I was trying to sign up for CarShield. Somehow I ended up with this company I'm so glad Apple has improved the battery life on iPhones, it's going to be a long day. Stay far far away from Carchex. Any company that treats customers in this manner (Even if they are cancelling) In most businesses, what I have and am experiencing with the employees of Carchex is considered customer abuse. I have contacted the CarChex customer service and HQ office since April 2018, trying to get resolution to my auto repairs that I have been paying fees to cover. Carchex has given me the run around with the issues with my car warranty providing subpar and beyond poor service. First, I purchase the Technology Package for this car warranty last year. I found out later that in their internal computer it states I have lesser package but on my printed documents it states I have the Technology package that covers my repair challenges. Secondly, I started calling in April 2018 when my air conditioner, water pump, and passenger window started malfunctioning. I have been waiting for verbal and written authorizations for these repairs to be performed since I purchased the Technology package to cover these items. After waiting, I visited my local auto repair company who provided an estimate to Carchex in the interim. The repair company and I are still waiting in July 2018 to hear from CarChex to resolve these issues and repairs. Although Carchex says it is "committed to providing the best products and the best service in the industry", the fact is their commitment is just on paper but not in execution. Jason Nierwienski is a polite man, but he has no integrity and his customer service is absolutely terrible. As my original account executive, it always takes weeks for Jason to return phone calls after making the sale. I believe I am being led on just to pay my warranty charges, but not to receive any service or help with my situation. I have tried to contact his superior, Tom, but to no avail. I have paid for the "Technology Package" to be on my warranty and its clearly stated on my contract, but any time I need my car serviced, I am told that I do not have the "Technology Package. When I purchased my contract, I was told that due to the amount of miles on my car I would have to pay a higher deductible which is no problem. Needless to say, I use to be a faithful client to Carchex, referring others to them. But their poor response time, mishandling of what is covered on my warranty, confusion over the package I have, and lack of attention to details does not promote customer loyalty. Just last week, I was told by Jason everything was approved but the TPMS Sensors. After contacting the Royal Administrator, I was told that based on the policy I have, only the window motor and water pump is allowed. Once again, more confusion. I do not understand why it takes over four months to get my car issues resolved. Wow! I'm impressed! All the great reviews for Carchex? Wonder if these are paid reviews? - which is common nowadays... I am in the market for an auto warranty. I just spoke with a pushy Sales Person at Carches, who tried to get me to purchase a plan without seeing official details of what my car would actually be covered for, nor was I supplied with data on what the official cost would be. Then he suggested that I read the Carchex 15 page "sample doc" he emailed me saying he had all day to wait for me make a decision based on the sample??. I mean whose that stupid!? I feel insulted. Is this how business is done at Carchex? You sign a contract to do business off a fabricated sample document - that possibly might now apply to your vehicle's particular needs? Am I missing something? And to further insult me he told me he could not promise me the low (but exorbitant) Carchex quoted price if I didn't make an instant decision to purchase at that moment. My dad got this mess 3/27/17 bought his truck and thought everything was good. The agent told my farther everything was covered. My dad is 79 years old. You should be shame of taking advantage of people by telling them one thing and not giving them the true facts about your company. My dad never used the insurance and the one time he needed it the insurance told my dad that he didn't have the right coverage. Of course everyone would say read the fine print but my dad is 79 years old and retired. Fixed income and had to pay out of pocket for 528.00 for a radiator. So the insurance that my dad has payed for totals up to 4547.00 and will never be able to use any of it because they change the rules when they want to. Hands down the worst warranty company.Their contract states they cover the steering rack, tie rods and stabilizer links and bushings but when they all broke Carchex refused to pay the repair bill of over $3,500. They claimed all of these must have been pre-existing. I called repeatedly to try and get this resolved and was placed on hold immediately after calling. I would be on hold for 20-30 minutes and then sent to voicemail. I left numerous voicemails that were never returned. It is extremely frustrating to pay over $200 a month for the most comprehensive plan and have them deny the claims! STAY AWAY! PARTS ARE PRICE TOO LOW TO GET CAR REPAIRED I made a big mistake in trusting the Carchex reviews. As a former 14 year insurance agent: I know the pitfalls of insurance policy coverage. I purchased another warranty from a company that offered a lower price for your 60 month / 60,000 mile coverage. After getting a call from Carchex former employee Brennan Morris; I cancelled the previous company's policy and paid Carchex. I had to wait 30 days to get a refund and have the new coverage start. I paid over $6000.00 for the best coverage with every add-on available. I wanted to drive my 2006 Mercedes R500 with 49,000 miles without fear of financial ruin due to mechanical breakdown. Monthly payments, $100.00 deductible and no wear and tear clause sealed the deal. 1st claim for an engine seal was cover without a hatch. After driving another 35,000 miles the 2006 Mercedes R500 developed a power steering leak. I took it to the highly rated local Mercedes dealer in Dallas, TX. They provide a loaner car while providing a thorough inspection of the issues I expand the car was experiencing. They dealer had found several issues that was causing the problems. It took about 10 days to get an approval for repairs. The parts cost CarChex administer Assurant Solutions was willing to approve require $2000.00 out of pocket on my behalf. The dealer's service writer attempted to resolve to huge difference. The service writer finally gave me a take or leave deal that expire within 1 day that required paying $1,200. Well, not one for BULLYING, I decline the offer and sought another repair shop. A low battery caused the car to stop and get towed to a local Mercedes repair shop. I explained the issues with the car and asked if they would attempt a claim with Carchex. On 6/1/2016 the repair shop stated that they had sat on hold for over 1 hour to file a claim with Assurant Solutions with no answer. On 6/1/2016 I called claims and sat on hold for 1hr 5mins 45sec before the auto attendant said GOODBYE! I got an email from customer service to file the claim via email. I received a reply the next day stating that it required a call to file the claim. I asked for a Manager; 2-4 hour call back came several days later. I had to call claims and wait on hold for another 50 minute to get answer. This time after the hello, I was disconnected. Call back and got an answer in about 25 minutes. I quickly explained that I was the receptionist and put the local shop on 3 way to complete the claim report. It took a total of 13 calls and hours on hold to file the claim. The manager the called several days later explained on voicemail that no additional inspections would be required and the claim was adjusted with several rejections. This time I would need to pay about $700.00 in parts and labor cost difference. Conclusion: I WOULD NOT purchase another warranty from Carchex. I have 2 additional low mileage cars and will just take my chances against costly car repairs. You know sooner or later you will have to pay; getting the opportunity to pay 2 times is a defeated feeling. The time and effort it requires to file a claim that will require you to purchase your own parts and find someone will to do just the labor is very difficult. read more

I cannot recommend CarChex for an extended warranty. I purchased the Platinum Plus coverage for a 2020 Ram 1500 Limited. The first claim after the manufacture warranty expired was for a drivers dashboard replacement due to bubbling and separation. It was denied because it was considered a car panel. The second claim was for a cracked exhaust manifold on the drivers side. The passengers side had already been replaced under RAM warranty for the same thing. The auto manufacture considers an exhaust manifold part of the engine and drive train. CarChex denied the claim due to exhaust systems not being covered. If someone purchases a crated engine it would come with both exhaust manifolds. I understand technically it is part of the exhaust system. However, when the average consumer reads that in exclusions they more likely than not think of exhaust pipes, catalytic converters and mufflers only. I purchased this plan, because the salesmen kept stressing it was a, "bumper-to-bumper" policy which the majority of was the drive train. I think of a drive train as a complete engine, drive shafts or axles, transmission, rear end, etc., including the intake and exhaust manifolds. It is a good lesson. I feel deceived and will definitely read what is not covered very closely and ask pointed questions before purchasing this or any extended warranty in the future. And, if I do purchase another, it will not be CarChex. read more

VERY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES....they charged 40% more fur an Aston Martin inspection than fur an Audi S4, at the same location and for the exact same inspection as I was informed over phone by a rep....... it's the same inspection ....... A person shouldn't have to pay more for the same service just because they can.SHAME ON YOU The excuse operator mentioned when I confronted why if same: that they take more time in inspecting body panels and interior on exotic cars than on regular cars which means you must have an exotic car for them to do a good job. read more

Signed up, paid the money for Titanium coverage which is supposed to cover everything. During the warm up period had trouble with the car took it to the Volkswagen dealership and paid $1400 to have it repaired as coverage had not started. Volkswagen found nothing else wrong with the car. A few weeks after end of warm up period the Powered liftgate stopped working and the check engine light came on. Not showstoppers, but a day later the drivers electric window stuck in the down position, not something I could live with so I took it straight to Volkswagen where they discovered: 1. Window mechanism broken 2. Lifgate mechanism broken 3, Exhaust gas recirculator sensor intermittent failure 4. Transmission issue The Carchecx warranty provider rejected all claims as there were apparently not enough miles on the car after the start of the contract for these failures o have occurred. The implication being that these were pre-existing. This is wrong on so many levels, not least because it implies that I have not had a driver side window for nearly three months. Also, they claim that the windown and the liftgate were physically broken, therefore not covered. The EGR and Transmission are wear and tear but occurred too soon after the start of the contract therefore not covered So... A. Broken parts are not covered? B. Wear and Tear is not covered? I can't thiknk of any failure mechanism that is covered! So, basically the policy is worse than worthless because if I had taken out a policy from a company who had any intention of honoring the commitment I would have had these items repaired. I cannot retrospectively fix this. I am very upset and intend to pursue the matter as far as is legally possible. Do not subject yourself to this ordeal. Avoid Carchex read more

Audi Q5 that has the special bumper with a plate that drops out it for a trailer hitch. Was mentioned I was going to add an OEM trailer hitch and told it would void my warranty? Had a blown HID headlamp not covered by warranty I had replace but head lamp is really dim. Technical bulletin for this specific issue on my model and it is a bad module. I simply wanted to receive a free quote whilst shopping around for an extended car warranty. My previous call before calling Carchex was to Endurance, I've heard that they are the best but I promise they are not. Endurance paired myself with what had to be their most rude, ignorant, & short-tempered manager. Customer service is more important than the product you sell & i kid you not, i recieved the same product with Carchex that Endurance offered myself for almost half the price. I'm baffled !! CARCHECX denied CLAIM #4717012 to cover the cost to replace fuel pump on my vehicle even though the inspector who they sent out official report states that fuel leak originated as follows; ******************************** "Findings RFI : Found fuel tank had no impacts. Fuel tank had evidence of fuel leaking from area of fuel pump/sending unit. Found outlet port on fuel pump was broken. Port is a plastic elbow & tech states it was partially cracked & broke off completely during tear down. Also high pressure plastic fuel line shows to have been leaking above quick disconnect clamp. No impacts. Metal portion of fuel line has no abuse or corrosion. Tech states there is not a 2nd fuel line but that new part # requires the additional 2nd line. Inspector's Opinion of Cause of Failure: 1. Material failure to fuel pump outlet port. 2. Material failure to pressure line from fuel pump outlet port." *********************** I have had the top of the line Titanium Plus coverage for well over a year and this was the very first time I put in a claim with them. When I spoke with the adjuster, he lied to me and stated that he was saw no indication of a fuel leak coming from the top of the fuel tank. I then requested copies of the inspector's vehicle inspection which contained five pictures labeled "Top of Fuel Tank Shows Area of Fuel Leaking" in addition to the part labeled #1 above which resides on top of the fuel pump ($900.00 to replace). Some of their Customer Service Representatives were extremely rude as well when I contacted them for assistance. They basically passed me around to different claim adjusters and other Customer Service Representatives who obvious never read the vehicle inspectors report in its entirety nor did they contact the dealership to get additional information from technician. read more

This car warranty company is horrible I signed up 3 months ago my car has overheated and I took it in and got a repair quote over to them they denied the major components it need to run again. They sell you on getting comfortable with them and tell you parts that are not covered and these parts turn out to be the major parts the are costly they didn't want to refund my 3 months worth $90.08 a month they can only cancel it. Rey was the first to answer she didn't provide correct information said I had platinum coverage bumper to bumper then she had to transfer to Larry he wasn't able to help me just said no, no, no to any helpful suggestions. We were pretty upset about a mistake that was made on our initial contract in regards to the mileage on our vehicle, but Carchex has since corrected the issue. My only concern is that I was told that if we have to file a claim that it may be rejected for a "mileage discrepancy" but that they would work to avoid it. For now, we are back to happy. read more

Carchex car extended warranty with Royal Administration. I bought a very expensive car extended warranty with Carchex, serviced by Royal Administration. Let me start by saying Carchex has an excellent customer service, however they should not be selling products from a dishonest company like Royal Administration. Royal is the company that handles your repair claim. I already had had a bad experience with them in a previous car warranty, but I wanted to give them another chance and purchased a second extended warranty. After 3 months into the extended warranty my car rear differential went bad. I took it to a Mercedes shop and Royal sent an adjuster to inspect the differential. After waiting for 3 days for the adjuster decision, the adjuster decided that I have to pay for the labor involved in bring down the bad differential and tearing it down so he can go and inspect the parts inside and determine for how long these parts have been bad. Imagine that, now the adjuster is like a car medic forensics. The adjuster plan was to put the differential tear down fee, $800, on my shoulders, and also the risk that the claim would be denied if he determines that the part has gone bad more than 3 months ago before I purchased the extended warranty. I clearly perceived that Royal was looking for a way out not to grant this claim as they have done in the past with other claims, so I went ahead and canceled the extended warranty. Learned lesson. DO NOT EVER BUY extended warranty that is administered by Royal Administration. If you carefully read the contract they give you, you will realize that every word and phrase has been chosen carefully in a way that they always find a way out of the claim, and that is how they make the money. read more

My experience with Carchex and Royal Administration is similar to that of Armando from Hollywood. The brackets for my timing belt on my Audi broke so had to replace it along with the timing belt. The adjuster came out and looked at it and agreed that it was bad, even took a video. After a couple days, I received a call from Royal stating that since my mechanic did not strip it down to bare parts they would have to close the claim. That is silly, you don't need to strip a vehicle completely to repair it or figure out what is wrong. I have since canceled my policy with them and requested a refund through the BBB. I bought this warranty under the guise that it was a good one to get according to the sales rep. I saw the affiliations the company has such as AAA, and others. I also noticed Allstate insurance as a partner. Although I was never a customer of Allstate I had a bad experience from them in which they covered accident from someone who hit me, and wasn't willing to do business as other companies do in regards to paying out claims. I was leery somewhat, but I thought it was just a partner company like many corporations have within their spectrum. Well, after months of being with Carchex, I called to make certain my repair needed would be covered. I spoke to customer service over the phone and stated to them my car's issue. I was told, yeah, just take it in and pay nothing upfront for diagnostic, and only pay your deductible at the time of pick up. I asked again to make certain I'd have to pay nothing. I was then told as long as the part needed isn't an upgrade part, then it will be covered, along with my rental car expenses. So I took my car, which is German made in for repair. The part needing repaired was a blower motor, which is listed as a covered part under my contract. On the day the mechanic shop began the repairs, the manager called to get approval on my claim after diagnosing my car. He submitted it and was told he had to speak with an adjuster. He had to wait on hold for two hours for a response but got none before having to hang up to take other calls on the other phones. He tried the next day and still was on hold forever. I called myself to see if I could reach someone and if we could do a three way call since I got off work and had time. After nearly one hour being on hold in the evening, by the time an adjuster did finally answer, the shop was closed. While on the phone I explained the situaation to the adjuster, who told me the the claim was denied because of a resistor. This part needed replaced but so did the blower motor as they are two seperate part. However, Carchex assumed the two parts are the same, therefore they denied the claim. This didn't line up with what I was told by customer service who said they'd cover necessary parts and labor. This should have fallen under an out of pocket part that I had to pay, yet still cover the part that was covered, rather than denying it altogether. I see Carchex does so to avoid paying out claims and rental reimbursement. If they deny a claim, they also won't reimburse car rentals, which is what they did. My rental fees amassed to over a week and a half becuase of trying to get an adjuster to speak with the repair shop, and my going back and forth with they adjusters over this because they refused to cover any portion of my repair. All in all, I lost well over $2700 of my own money for repairs and rental fees. This doesn't include the months of wasted monthly payments I made to this scam company thinking I was covered in the event I needed to have my car repaired. The very first time I took it in Carchex didn't fulfill any part of the contract, including the parts they say are covered. Now I know why they give out vague coverage disclosures and who is truly behind all of this. It's Allstate, and their coverage is far worse than their dumb mayhem commercials! I purchased an extended warranty from Carchex Nov. 2012 with a$100 deductible for my 2002 Corvette while living in Maryland. I moved to Colorado in 2014 and had an issue with my car. For over a year I could not find a shop to honor my warranty and they all wanted me to pay up front. Now I live in Delaware and need my repair done. When I went to Carchex to purchase this warranty I was assured by the sales person that in the event a repair is needed everything would go smoothly and be taken care of, just pay the $100 deductible plus and difference in labor charges. WRONG! My Corvette has been at the dealership for 10 days now with no repairs made. I do not get anywhere by calling customer service about these problems so I drove to Carchex and personally talked to the customer service manager about my concerns and was told he would work with me to have my complaints resolved. Now my car is in the shop and I have called for 4 days and left messages with no response. They sell you a good story but you do not know what you have to go through until you have a need for repairs. I am very sorry I purchased this warranty and it was the worse investment I have ever made. Thank god I did not have a problem while out of state as rental car is only good for 5 days after the repairs have been approved. Was considering carchex titanium and Route 66 for my new preowned vehicle. I've been getting constant calls from the salesman at carchex and finally answered today without fully making a decision. I told him if he options I was considering and he told me that it would be a bad decision to go with Route 66 and rattled off a number of reasons why. At that point he became agitated and actually told me that if I took the other policy and something happened he hoped I remembered this phone call. At that point I told him this was the rudest sales call I've ever had and I was not interested, before I could even finish my sentence he hung up on me. We bought a 2007 Mazda CX-9 with 110,337 miles from Auto Rainbow LLC 1936 South La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034 (310)-6560 for $6955.54 ($7775.00 out the door) Thursday afternoon 6/16/2016 with the 30 day 1000 mile Edmunds.com/Carchex warranty #ZZ1007005 Ultimate Coverage Plan. On Wednesday 6/22/2016 at mileage 110,490 the CX-9 displayed ODII trouble codes for the #4 spark plug and P0012 & P0022 (camshafts retarded). I e-mailed Auto Rainbow who offered absolutely nothing, said it passed smog and drove fine on the test drive, I need to contact the warranty provider. I (40+ years experience in the auto repair industry) replaced the #4 coil (plug looked new) and changed the oil and filter (I saved the filter). The P0012 & P0022 codes returned and now for the first time, the low oil pressure light flickered a bit at a stoplight warm idle. All Thursday I researched probable causes for the three problems (all were oil pressure related). I contacted Royal Administration's Patrick (626) 221-7641) on Friday morning 6/24/2016 (only eight days and 198 miles after purchase) to receive permission to drive the Mazda nine miles to the local Spreen Mazda Dealership for a 'Multipoint Inspection' at my expense. I brought pictures of all the downloaded OBDII trouble codes and the opened oil filter with its liquid motor oil remains and non magnetic metal particles appox 1/16 inch diameter for the inspection. Royal sent an inspector to Spreen Mazda 6/30/2016 who examined the Mazda, the oil filter, collected the OBII screen prints and a crankcase oil sample. I received a phone call from Tony Ballantine (784)261-2523 tballantine@royaladmin.com who said the normal procedure would be to send a check for the cost of a good used motor and installation (Tony mentioned $1600 to $2300 plus 13.5 hours labor). He told me to authorize the Mazda dealer to remove the oil pan for a bearing inspection. Spreen Mazda refused to become any part of a used motor repair, then provided a $9,836.82 estimate to replace the engine with a re-manufactured motor. Spreen Mazda's inspection noted rod knocking noises (copies available). I had the Mazda CX-9 flatbed towed (to prevent engine damage) to Koritas Tire and Auto Repair 34996 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, CA 92399 (909) 797-0239 with instructions to remove the engine, then the oil pan for an engine bearings inspection. Because this is the busiest part of an auto repair season, and a heat wave, it was 8/10/2016 before the motor was out and the bearings (wiped out) ready for inspection. The same inspector from Royal Admin Services examined the motor Tuesday 8/16/2016, which exhibits no overheat or seizing damage, and again collected liquid oil samples from the oil pan. Wednesday 8/17/2016 I received a call from Tony Ballantine stating Royal Admin was denying claim #4674109. I requested and was e-mailed a copy of the nineteen page warranty service contract. Their contract coverage on page 3 specifically mentions coverage of engine oil lubricated parts and specifically names engine bearings. Additionally page 4 specifically mentions coverage of the oil pump and oil pump housings. This Mazda CX-9 has continuously been in a repair facility since 6/24/2016, after only 198 miles since purchase, trying to meet Royal Administration Services increasingly unreasonable inspection demands. Got the warranty in Oct 2016. I had a issue with navigation hard drive 2 months after i got warranty . I passed there break in period (1000 miles and more than 30 days) Carchex fought me a little bit but they paid eventually. Tried to say pre existing issue, when i bought the warranty with the car. Fast forward, now in feb 2017 my front differential started to make a weird noise. So i got it checked out as carchex advised. Dealer stated front diff is starting to bind and needs to be changed and front wheel bearing is bad. They call it in but carchex wants a tear down but before that is done they said try checking the fluid. Dealer stated no way to check it without actually draining it. Makes sense. So i paid $180 to get the fluid changed. (Carchex didnt cover any of it) It wasn't low or dirty dealer stated. The diff is a sealed unit so no oil change intervals or maintenance required. They refilled with oem fluid and the noise was gone. Carchex said ok good and closed the differential claim since it was no longer needed. Not reimbursing me a dime. 5 months later (July 2017) front end got extremely loud. Dropped it off to get it diagnose. Dealer states front right wheel bearing is bad and front differential is back with noise. So he called it in. Car chex is requesting a tear down. Fine with me cause the noise is worst then before so that means its done. But how can you request for a tear down and never even came to inspect the vehicle know it has other issues besides the diff? I asked how could you diagnose a wheel bearing if they take the differential apart? They stood quiet, then turned and said yea i gotta see if i can get a adjuster out to check the car. Sad i have to tell them in which order they should do there job or when they should check the vehicle. You claim to be experienced and professionals in this for years. I cant agree. Especially when you guys said your adjuster can tell what was damaged before i got the warranty and during. That is completely impossible. I've asked independent mechanic shops and other Lexus dealers and they also state that it is impossible with this type of breakdown to tell if prior or during. Then they started talking about pre existing issues and normal wear and tear. Pre existing? So because i did not have the repair done (which was not needed at the time) your saying pre existing? Or i bought the car with a differential making noise and a bad wheel bearing? Did i or did i not do everything required to keep the vehicle properly running when you guys asked? You asked for maintenance receipts, i sent them. You asked the oil be changed on the diff. I did it. (My maintenance receipts totaling more then $7,000 in repairs out of my own pocket) Showing you i take care of my vehicle and all pre existing issues was taken care of before or during the 30 day/1,000 miles start up period as stated in the contract. $7,000 in repairs that i paid before the warranty and your gonna tell me pre existing issues? Now more excuses... Why would i continue with a tear down if there was no longer a issue after the fluid was changed out? Now 5 months later the diff is binding but even louder now and your gonna tell me its pre existing issues because i did not tear it down in the past, yet YOU closed the claim stating nothing more needs to be done. And its preexisting because no tear down was done before?? i am still paying my contract and i am now 8-9 months in. Carchex do not want to pay because the repair exceeds the cost of my contract. My contract is roughly $5,000 and the repair is about $7,000 with wheel bearing repair. Why not stipulate from the beginning that you will not pay over X amount or the total contract amount?? Editing my review because a representative from Carchex has resolved my issue. I still believe that the communication can be better, but in all fairness Carchex was sort of the middleman in my issue. So I would say, if you follow their protocols, you should have no issue getting claims paid with Carchex, but be careful of the fine print in any contract. I purchased an extended warranty 2 years ago from Car Chex for my M6. My car is now in the shop and they are DECLINING any repairs ($2800). They claim it falls under an exclusion. You look at the exclusion section and it is OVER A PAGE LONG (in small print too). So, pretty much just about anything is going to be listed under the exclusions, thus they will not be liable for a majority of repairs. It makes me sick to think of the $$ I spent on this, I would have been better off putting this money in a bank account reserved for future car repairs. I spoke to several reps too, that don't care that I wanted to cancel the remainder of my warranty due to them not covering the repair. It's a scam, they will only take your $. I recently told a few of my friends about them who purchased cars, I'll be sure to let them know my experience and not to purchase an extended warranty from Car Chex. read more
