The chicken taco and carnitas taco were good. The service was HORRIBLE. I wanted a Diet Coke, she all we have is what is there. I was disappointed. You have a soda fountain machine right behind you but i guess it don't work. I took the water but when she tried to scan it, it didn't work. So I could not have a cold drink with my lunch. I don't know, I kind of liked this Cardenas! True, it has probably the worst wine section I've ever seen at a grocery store (really, only sweet wines?). And true, it's really small. But the service was great, and they have some interesting items. Like tortillas as big as a wheel! I've never seen tortillas as big as the ones I saw at Cardenas. I think they make them fresh in the store, too. And also a huge 12 pack of Paleta Payaso! Apparently, this marshmallow treat is very popular because of some YouTuber, so my children begged me to track them down. We looked all over the store and found them in the cookie aisle. They also have them individually wrapped at the checkout counter. The store was well organized and clean, and there is lots of parking because this Cardenas is located in a busy shopping center. read more

Today we ordered two carne asada burritos to take home. This is NOT carne asada but some over shredded beef with a texture of corn beef hash. My husband couldn't even get through burrito to finish. It tastes nasty. This is going in trash too. I tried calling a few times. No one answers because there is always lines. No sense of urgency when lines full. Sadly closest market in area. Hello once again for unworthy reviews. Today I shopped at the Cardenas market near my home smh ‍. I purchased a whole catfish and asked the worker at behind the fresh meat and fish to cut it up for me. Well she cut it up but look at what I received. She saw this and still sold to me, why are people so hateful especially where we shop and spend our money. One makes it bad for all. Update to my review. I went back to the store and spoke to the Manager who listened to my concerns, I know things happen is what I said to him I told him the thing that hurt my feelings and integrity was that she saw and smelled all of that when she cut the fish up, and what was sad was that she gave it to me in that condition as if she didn't care and she knew it was wrong. The Mgr took items back and refunded me he also gave me catfish nuggets for free and threw all the whole catfish's away. read more

Alicia in the bakery helped me put it was great! Cake was delicious & fresh. The whole bakery had a great selection of cakes to choose from.

The service in this place. It's was not pleasant I was telling one of the cashiers that the price was marked differently on the aisle, then what was ringing for. And apparently she didn't understand what I was talking about. She barely spoke English. She got someone else. Another customer had to help out. I don't understand. Why don't they have someone the lease speaks a little bit English to understand what the customer and then she had a little attitude after the incident. I just return everything and I got my money back. Never can we shop at the store, and I will complain with the State regarding this issue. The old male cashier is slow, doesn't value customers' time, suddenly cuts in and opens the cash register even tho there are customers waiting, and doesn't even know how to put the groceries in a bag. He leaves my purchases outside the plastic and the plastic is just bursting open, no care at all. But the female cashiers are good, fast, and careful. Very disappointed on Cardenas customer service at the meat department. My children who just went to get their pricey carne asada, interacted with ROSA FROM THE MEAT DEPARTMENT. It is NOT the first time this employee makes fun of my children's Spanish. They go out of their way to order in Spanish in a country where English should be spoken at every single establishment. ROSA instead of trying and being thankful that they are being kind, make fun of them and told them they should speak Spanish. ROSA was lucky I didn't go, they were polite and respectful enough to ignore her hateful comments and mocking about the way they spoke. My children reached out to the manager who told them it is not the first time she has a complaint about the same situation and they need to complain to corporate in order to find a solution for her impertinence. She has no idea how to behave with customers. Without us, the customers, she wouldn't have a job. And she should be grateful she has a job in America, in a place where the employee should be bilingual. I hope I can get an answer and an apology. read more

No cashiers open have to use self service to pay, complain to the manager and told them they needed to open at least one cashier when I have a lot of groceries to ring up, it's very time-consuming specially when you have a lot of fruit/vegetables I told the manager if they don't have at least one register available to help, I personally won't be shopping there She told me they only have two people on the floor and they can't open up registers, I told her your going to lose customers my self included, and she told me go ahead and go somewhere else, so from now on I won't be giving them my business. Prices are higher than a lot of stores and the selection is a bit more limited for what we buy. With that said, we bought carnitas fresh with bolillo and made sandwiches. It was a treat and I'd go back for. Otherwise I would pass on making this a regular grocery source. read more

This use to be a rio ranch and I miss it already! Rio ranch use to make their own beans and now Cardenas only uses prepackaged beans, you can definitely tell the difference. Also, I've been noticing that the butchers no longer double bag your meat so you end up getting your meat in a bag covered in blood. Please start getting your butchers in the habit of double bagging meat. In my opinion, Cardenas is the most white washed store, not authentic at all. read more

Very disappointed that my store around the corner has turned into a Cardenas. The produce isn't the same.. but must importantly the tostadas botaneras and chips are totally not the same. I wouldn't touch their tostadas and chips w/ 9 ft. Pole. I've recently made my own tostadas using a packet of Comal corn tortillas. Much better! Miss my Rio Ranch Market. read more

why do your groceries always ring up higher at check out then what they price tag actually says. This happens weekly since you come into this neighborhood. Every time I tell myself that I'm juat going to make the drive 10 more minutes to stater brothers and I never do because it's inconvenient, however, nothing is as inconvenient as the prices consistently being wrong. This was changed from rio ranch and I'm not going to lie I'm actually glad. I feel it was time for a change. The other place charged so much with bad service. This new place seems like new staff with better attitude. I do see some old staff that they must of kept that are fire pad well. I remember prices were high already but I do see with name change prices did go up a little more. Seems more neater and brighter now. Better lighting. I think the fruits are fresher. I like the self check out. Makes it a little more quicker. Why not a 5 star? Prices are too high. Not even Ralph's or Whole Foods have high prices like this. Come on. I believe it's just because they know people live near by so they raise prices. I rather drive a little more if it's not something I need right away. Stater bros, vons, winco, Sam's club, Costco. To begin this location used to be Rio Ranch Market. We (at work) always used to go to Rio ranch for all birthday cakes that we celebrate at work, we buy one almost every week! Now is Cardenas and let me tell you. Price wise it went from buying a tres leches cake that used to be approx $27.00 now as Cardenas is $43.00 and wouldn't mind paying that is the cakes we're decent which are not! RIO had better cakes! But what really pissed me off was the bad customer service from 2 employees. So I'm standing in bakery line, have one person in front of me, which he is already paying when a Cardenas employee(really husky tall lady) is on her phone and pulls up & puts her food she is purchasing on cou ter next to guy but not too close, so o figure they are together and he is now paying for both. So I don't mind (he was waiting on her). So I thought, but then he left and this employee without even acknowledging I'm in line, just basically cut in front of me! Now I get it, employees get small breaks and I wouldn't have mind letting her go first if she would have asked! but didn't. And worst the bakery cashier should have said something she new I was next!!!! But I would have to say the ladies and gentlemen in hot food department are the best (those in that department are ex-rio workers!! Ans I don't have anything bad to say about that department!!! read more
