I am a nearby resident that does not come here often because I might not find what I need. Today I needed shrimp and gave this place a chance. I like that your prices have gotten better compared to years ago when they were very high. I am hoping to make this my go to market. Anyhow, I hope the manager sees this because if this isn't fixed you'll lose a lot of business. I had a lot of trouble getting somebody to serve me at your meat department. I took a number and they still didn't assist me. I brought to their attention that they wee assisting people that were after me. I feel it's because I don't look like a Spanish speaker but I am. I showed them my number and they said they don't use the number system. She said people complain when they use the number system. I said well then they should take the number system away if they're not going to use it. She said they don't have any control over that so I hope the manager does. Please bring order to your meat dept. I did not see any sign of a manager at the store. If I had, I would have spoken to you about it. I'll update my review if I see a change in the future. Also- please note I went to your freezer section to look for shrimp but they were not properly organized and labeled with prices! So I didn't know what cost what. This is currently the nearest Mexican market to me, but if I had another option, I would honestly go elsewhere. The produce and hot food have always been good, but the customer service is a different story. The employees often seem unhappy rude and uninterested, which makes the shopping experience unpleasant. On top of that, the new self-checkout machines are not my favorite. I understand they're trying to cut labor costs, but it doesn't make things easier for customers--especially when there's only one cashier available and you're basically forced to use self-checkout. Last week, I used the self-checkout, and when I scanned my bolillo, the machine kept stopping. The cashier came over and began inspecting my bag like I had done something wrong. I then said, "I know how to count," because I felt that frustrated. Honestly, I've never felt so disrespected while shopping. If you're going to have self-checkout machines, don't treat your customers like they're doing something wrong. It really takes away from the overall experience. read more

I bought 2lbs of butter from this location on September 18, 2026. I opened one today and all 4 sticks were molded! I opened the other pound and 3 of the 4 sticks were molded. Butter does not mold quickly so I'm not sure how long these were on the shelf. read more

My family was in the mood for sweets and I suggested Tres Leche Cake from Cardenas. So, I decided to get cake pieces for everyone. This Cardenas is located on Vineyard Ave off the 60fwy in Ontario. Get there and went straight to the cake section. I like the fact that the cake pieces were separated by flavor and presented nicely. The price for each piece was reasonable and generous in my personal opinion. Got my pieces and went to the self checkout. When I arrived home I could tell the cake was prepared fresh and the tres leche soaked the cake piece. The cake overall was delicious and really enjoyed the strawberry on top. In my personal opinion, I would recommend Cardenas if you are looking and craving some traditional sweet cake. read more

They have horrible customer service. You need to get a ticket for the meat department, but the meat employees just ask random people for their order. Then why have tickets? Waited behind another customer to order food from the hot food area and was told the line is on the other side. How are customers supposed to know? No sign anywhere. Rude employees! read more

Love this Mexican supermarket. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with this warm embrace of fresh baked goods. The colors all around the walls and ceiling come together and make you feel welcomed. Reminded me of somewhere in Mexico. Anyway I digress. They make bomb treats daily. I really enjoy their polvoron cookies and conchas. They have good produce too. Make sure to try the pistachio and Jamaica agua fresca. Both are unique and refreshing. WORST EXPERIENCE! My husband and I went for a couple groceries, when we got home and about to have some milk it had a horrible smell and had an expired date. We went back with our gallon of milk and asked for our money back or store credit. The girl that we talked to asked for our receipt, we didn't have it we informed her that we had just bought the milk. The girl made us wait for more than 20 minutes just to get store credit. In those 20 minutes that we were waiting we could hear her laughing with someone in the front office, I did catch this girls name it was ANAHI. The store is very pretty from the inside, but the kitchen/restaurant has terrible service and terrible food. I went on 04/15/2023 with my husband to order lunch and the fish I ordered was extremely dry, it seemed like they had left it there for days. Also, my husband ordered chicharrón and it tasted old that it gave him food poisoning. Aside from that, they had terrible service, the portions that were given to us was like feeding a child and they had terrible attitude. This is a review of the restaurant portion in the market. Although the prices are good and the service friendly. The food isn't all that good.. the chicken and asada is a bit dry and needs to be seasoned. There is always a line and no sense of urgency from the workers. I think management need to teach the workers how to move faster. I've had to ditch the line because I had an hour lunch and waited 15-20 mins just to order. For instance, on taco Tuesday someone should be heating up the tortilla, gathering the meat and one at the register. Best Mexican market in Ontario. It's huge and they have EVERYTHING! The fresh chips are delicious as are the salsas and guacamole. The beans and rice are tasty, whether you are getting them fresh and hot or taking them home to warm up. We like to get the marinated chicken and carne asada to take home and put on the grill as well. As a grocery store, they have a really good selection of everything else you might need for your regular shopping when you are not hosting a feast. By far one of the BEST Cardenas Markets I've been to. Everything was clean, organized, and just overall very modern. We have a local Cardenas in Vallejo and it's nowhere near as good as this location. This location has a juice area, they have a food area with lots of seating, and just overall great vibes right when you enter. I came by to get their taquiza plate and carnitas and they had everything we needed. Other Cardenas are always low on meat but that was not an issue here. While we waited for our food my sister went over to get a Vampiro drink from their Juice area. I had a sip and it was good but she really liked it. Such a great location! Didn't get to walk around the whole thing but the little I did see was super impressive. The only area of improvement personally would be the customer service. The woman helping us with our food was a bit sloppy and appeared annoyed. She gave us our carnitas and the bag they were in was smothered in the oil and she just tossed (not literally just a bit extra with handling stuff) a lot of our things at us but other than that I look forward to coming back and hopefully my local Cardenas can one day look like this location! read more
