Even though I constantly heard great things about Farmer Boys, I haven't visited a single location in all of my time in the Greater LA Area. That's why when I came across the Ontario outpost of Farmer Boys, I figured I'd stop in and see how their food compared to the more recognizable fast food spots. Coming into the restaurant at 5:30PM on a Sunday, most of the tables were empty. But as peak dinner hours arrived, almost every seat in the restaurant was full. Definitely stop in earlier to grab a seat! Looking at the menu for the first time, I noticed Farmer Boys serves a range of foods. Even though the emphasis was clearly on the burgers, they happen to serve breakfast plates, sandwiches, salads, and more. Many of the items seemed appetizing. But wanting to start with the basics, I decided on a Natural Burger ($8.50), an order of Always Crispy Fries ($3.39), and a Strawberry Shake ($5.79). When ordering at the counter, the cashier asked the typical "for here or to-go" question most of us are familiar with. But what surprised me is that the cashiers served the food right to my table upon completion! Because of this, Farmer Boys came off as more of a fast casual restaurant instead of the typical quick service spot. Looking at the food for the first time, I was initially surprised by the quality of the ingredients. The burger caught my eye first with a smooth bun and stake down the middle. In addition, the fries on the side were golden brown which signified to me that they were made fresh. The size of the burger was quite large and the fries were generous which was appreciated. Even though the burger was priced high at $8.50, the price to portion ratio was good. Looking at the shake next, I was happy to see the generous serving of whipped cream on top. But besides the whipped cream, the shake was a similar size to other shakes at this price point. With that said, the price to portion for the shake in the Ontario area was standard. Farmer Boys does not appear to be much of a place at first glance. But after trying their food, I would definitely return again! Starting with the burger, I found the bun to be somewhat sweet which complemented the sauce and pickles inside. The cheese created a somewhat creamy texture that added some depth to the burger. But out of all the ingredients, the meat was definitely the best part. Because of the volume of ground beef given, the patty was quite juicy! I appreciated that the beef was only lightly seasoned as it emphasized the more intense items. Moving to the fries next, each piece was more soggy than expected. But because they were larger than your typical order of fries, it was easily explainable. Although the potatoes tasted fresh, they were lacking salt. Looking at the strawberry shake last, I felt that I should have started with it first. The whipped cream tasted rich, almost as if it was made in-house. Compared to other shakes, the whipped cream had volume to it and added a more "milky" taste. As for the shake itself, it definitely tasted like it was made from real fruits and ice cream. In fact, the shake had small bits of strawberry inside which helped give hints of texture to the thick drink. I would definitely enjoy a meal at Farmer Boys again. Although there were some small things that could be improved here and there, the food was pretty solid overall. The prices are somewhat high if on the more frugal side. But for those willing to spend extra for added quality Farmer Boys is a good option. For those unfamiliar with Farmer Boys, definitely don't overlook this fast food spot. The quality of the ingredients is just as good (if not better) than many of your common fast food favorites. read more

This is the second time this week I have had a bad experience at this location. On 4th of July I visited as the hours online said they closed at 6:00pm. I called the store earlier in the day and they told me they closed at 6:00pm. The sign on the drive thru said they closed at 6:00pm. When I get to the drive thru to order at 5:39pm, the manager tells me they're closed. I tell her your sign says 6:00pm. She says "oh sorry". Really? So you're closed more than 20 mins early and lied about your hours especially after I called before I drove there. A waste of my time. I get it was a holiday, but be honest about your hours then. Today, I decided to give this location another chance. Never again. I ordered the 3pc chicken strip box combo and received a chicken "strip" that wasn't even a strip. Absolutely unacceptable. Barely bigger than a fry! Pictures attached. So disappointed in this location. Their quality and standards are much lower than other locations where I have gotten the same meal. I would like to bring awareness regarding ordering through the App. I placed an ordered on 3/1/26, picked up order at drive-thru and when I got home discovered I was given the wrong food. I called the store and the people I spoke with including manager Dulce were both nonchalant about the inconvenience this caused me. They asked that I return the incorrect food and come back to pick up the correct order. But after I experienced their lack of customer service I requested a refund and Dulce informed me that I had to do it through the App because the restaurant is unable to issue a refund. When asked how to go about it and if they could confirm that I would be able to do it, Dulce indicated she did not know how to do it as they were not familiar with the App because it's a third party entity. To hear this was very disappointing and it definitely discourages customers from using the App, knowing that if something goes wrong you will not be able to request a refund. I provided feedback through the App on 3/1 and I still have not received a response. I was also told that the manager (Jimmy) would call me on Monday and I have yet to hear from manager. I will no longer be ordering through the App. And hope that their customer service improves. I would also like to suggest that staff be trained or be familiar with the App to be able to provide assurance to customers that a refund can indeed be granted. And guide staff on how to proceed. We ordered a Bacon Turkey Melt and BBQ Ranch Wrap. They came out amazing. Salad wrap was evenly coated with the dressings which made it super juicy and flavorful. The cheese of the sandwich melt was melted so well which is such a great balance for the grilled crispy bread and crispy bacon. I ordered through drive around 3pm and everything was made quickly. There was no line when I arrived, but I waited four minutes before being acknowledged by staff and an additional two minutes for an employee to take my order at the register. I paid $13.04 for a Double Big Cheese Box, and my food was delivered to my table 11 minutes later by a pleasant and friendly server. The fries were crispy and fresh, and the double cheeseburger not only looked just like the photograph but tasted amazing! The first and most important thing to say is that it is a bad thing to smell the bathroom cleaner chemicals as soon as you walk in. Maybe dial it back a bit or work on better ventilation. It would be best to smell the food as you come in. The service was really slow it seemed like there was no rush or purpose from the front staff to get the orders out or to keep the soda machine cleaned. The soda machine drain was overflowing and dirty and was only addressed by the staff after a customer made a mistake and made it poor all over the floor. They were not busy enough to do basic maintenance and lobby checks to address this before it was an issue. I ordered chicken strips at the same time as my friends who got burgers. They were finished with their meals by the time I got mine which should have been easier to cook. Not a fan of this location mostly based on the service. So my experience today is a literally the reason why I do not go to Farmer Boys anymore. As soon as I pulled away from the window with my order, I reached for a fry out of the bag like any normal person does, and they weren't even hot; literally not even lukewarm. I know the drive-through takes a while because they are "supposedly" cooking your food from scratch which I do not believe now, but I waited over 10 to 12 minutes in a drive-through just to get cold fries that are still "crispy." I got a veggie burger, that is frankly not even cooked. At least put the veggie burger on the flat top to make it hot and give it some type of warmth to it. The veggie burger is mush. And I know what you meat eaters are thinking, "It's because it's a veggie burger!" This is not the case, I have had their veggie burgers before and it has never this bad and so disgusting I couldn't even eat it. I am in actual shock right now. I honestly can't believe they are okay with serving this. The bun is not even toasted at all and the whole thing is falling apart. I'm appalled. Plus I ordered no 1000, add xtra pickles and there are no pickles, but extra white onion. At least I could have picked off the pickles off and ate those but no. It even says it on the receipt and the ticket of the order. I stopped going to Farmer Boys (any location) about a year and a half ago because the issues are through the roof with their food, but now, I vow, I will NEVER go back. I CANNOT believe I paid for this, it's so disgusting it's a disgrace. Needless to say, my mom got to eat her food, even though she said it was horrible to. She was just so hungry she could but I did not. I am now having to purchase food from some where else and having to waste my time writing this review. It took about 25 minutes to get our food. The folks bringing out the food were giving some of the customers coupons due to the wait. I can't give enough negative stars for this meal. We ordered the Farmers Burger with no tomato (my husband is allergic) and 1/2 Parmesan Crusted Cheeseburger with no avocado. The guy at the register heard me, because the mods were printed on the receipt, but both burgers had the items that we asked to be excluded. Also, there was something seriously wrong with the chili in the chili fries, it smelled like burned plastic as soon as we lifted the lid. I don't know if the chili was burned and then mixed into the whole batch, but they were absolutely inedible. The only things made correctly were the fries, and they were lukewarm. I tried to call the restaurant to tell them they shouldn't serve the chili because there was something seriously wrong with it, but the person who answered the phone supposedly couldn't hear me. I saved the chili fries so I can bring them back for a refund tomorrow, and to inform the manager of the food quality that was going out today. This location is so hit or miss, we've had amazing food here, but when it's bad it's soooo bad. And the bad food often happens on the weekend - so pro tip, if you want to try this place, I would only go on a weekday. read more

Had to drop off family at the airport and we decided to stop in for a quick breakfast. I have always found that the food at Farmer Boys is your typical burger joint, burgers, club sandwiches, etc. I had never had their breakfast until this visit. I ordered the egg meal which came with three eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast. I also ordered a coffee with my drink. Delicious breakfast, although I find it very difficult to screw this up, I rather enjoyed my meal. One of the reasons why I like farmer boys is for overall decor and feel inside. Not only is it here a pretty extensive menu, they restaurant is always kept clean and they staff are very friendly. Even better that my meal came out within five minutes of ordering. read more

Everyone loves the comeback kid and if that's you, don't read this review. Exiting the freeway to hit up Evike we needed dinner. Wendy's, Jack N a Crack or here. There was not one car in the drive through line so I shot through in a jiffy, but that should have been a sign. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with regular fries and my son got the same sandwich but with fried zucchini.The food was horrible. I really wanted to say something really good but I'm actually surprised at how bad this was. The zucchini sticks were like raw zucchini which must have been injected with steroids because they were massive, had a completely flavorless gooey batter. My sons spicy chicken sandwich was dripping in some sort of orange sauce where mine was bone dry. Maybe a pickle would have been nice. Today was a new WTF moment that is the straw that broke the camels back. How does a bread clip make it into a breakfast burrito? That falls under their cooks and managers truly DGAF about quality or pay attention to what they are doing. There is never an excuse for a foreign object in food that is served to a customer. Never. This Location falls into the old proverb of fool me once, shame on thee; fool me twice, shame on me. It has always been a location where you can expect bad food, mediocre service, and cleanliness issues. Having worked in the food industry, I get that mistakes happen. But, when they consistently happen it is an issue. Burning the heck out of zucchini, only putting four small pieces of chicken on a salad, raw hamburger meat, and egg shells in the scrambled eggs have been just some of the low lights over the years. The Farmer Boys on Mountain and Foothill has the best cooks and Jackie working there. It is well worth the drive if you want great service and good food. We were in the area for a conference and I was looking for a place to go that would hold our group without having to make reservations. I don't know why I thought this was a nicer place. Still trying to figure that one out.... maybe the farm fresh ingredients, made to order tricked me. Received great service from Isaiah who impressed me by practicing clean hygiene food service. He handed me a knife with the entire knife wrapped in a clean napkin. He was also friendly and quick in placing my Big Cheese Combo. I've been craving their fried zucchini. Its did not disappoint and they were generous with their ranch dressing. We were in the area for a sports tournament and as we have normally had amazing service at Farmer Boys locations, we decided to grab breakfast. This review is for service. When we arrived there was no one in front of us ordering, and only one small group inside who had already eaten. We ordered 2 breakfast burritos and a sandwich and a French toast plate. Unfortunately it took over 20 minutes for the two plates to come out, and they were not hot. After asking about the 2 burritos, we were told they were coming. We watched multiple drive through orders go out and waited an additional 10 minutes for our burritos. No one had come in to order after us. It is really disappointing to stop in for breakfast and have two people practically finish their meals before the others get theirs. Over all, it took 30 minutes here to get all food items out. I can't imagine what it would be like if they were busy! No comment was made from the manager or cooks in regards to why our food took so long and why it didn't all come out together. We usually have a great meal at farmer boys. Today was not the case. My child's french toast was covered in cinnamon. I mean FULLY covered in cinnamon. The chili fries serving was just sad. My husband's omelette wasn't made correctly. My sourdough chicken avocado was missing chicken ‍ No one came to refill the coffee mugs We would have sent everything back but unfortunately didn't have time as my child had therapy.
