We brought in our 11 month old Anatolian Pyrenees Shepherd for his first check-up & I was thoroughly impressed with the care we received. My pup had some jitters to start, but the staff quickly acclimated to his temperament and made him feel comfortable with treats & playful banter. New to Murrieta, we had to find a vet for our dogs as our older one has a heart condition. We scheduled an appointment here after discovering how challenging it can be to find one in the area that isn't already full and cannot take in more clients, or will not schedule appointments on the weekends or just not able to accommodate all our needs. We were lucky to stumble across VCA El Rancho and after our second visit, we are pleased with their services and how much they try to accommodate us. They are transparent with their services and what the costs are, they are up front with how busy they can how costly some of their procedures can be depending on how well our pets react to medications or the procedure itself. The staff are friendly, professional and have been able to calm the pup that can really get anxious! Still trying to get him to hold still for nail trim, however, we hope that the calm will come with time to trust no accidents. The veterinarian we have been seeing has been gentle, and knowledgable with our dog issues. It was helpful that he owns the same breed of dogs as our and understands the medical issues common to the breed. He knows what helps his dogs and offers us the same remedy reminding us that although we have the same breed, still each dog may react differently to certain medications. The parking is easy to access and many stalls available. Relief area is located out front by street side and offers bags. The facility is well maintained and they offer pet owners coffee and water and treats for the pets. Waiting area is narrow yet spacious, bench seats along the wall and walkway is kept clean. We visited this location twice now and will continue to seek their services as long as we are still living in the area. read more

I absolutely love being part of the VCA Veterinary Family! I have a breed of dog that needs extra space, a gentle approach and patience. We receive all that plus fantastic care at VCA El Rancho. The vet tech's approach my dog with a gentle touch and patience, which we both appreciate. Dr. Runion and Dr. Siringo are amazing with my guy, they always have a calming demeanor with my little guy and offer the best advice. They take their time with us, move slowly with him and take great care of us. Hailey, Tyler and Morgan are sure to take their time with my guy and he has grown to trust and love them. Which puts me at ease and allows for my guy to have a good visit. Tiffany usually greets us at the lobby check in and she always has a smile on and is so friendly. And I absolutely love that VCA offers touch-less payment. They send a link via text and I pay from there. My paperwork and receipt are emailed to me and loaded into my VCA app portal. Easy and seamless! The Hospital Manager suggested we do "Pawsitive" visits which allow us to stop by and say hello to everyone without it being an actual vet visit appointment. No poking and prodding means no stress to my guy. He just gets to stop in for a 'hello', some love and a cookie. I wouldn't go anywhere else!! I had to wait a bit to write our review. We lost our beloved dog of 12 yrs. Sometimes it takes a bit to get over loss and write clearly. The whole staff at vca Winchester location was truly a crutch to lean on during the whole process. Our first time going to this facility and we were welcomed warmly from beginning to end. They listened and understood our needs from the start and offered the best advice thru the process. Unfortunately Pongo's breed develops a disorder that really doesn't have a cure. Even a surgery wasn't recommended due to age and no guarantee he'd make it thru or be better. I felt they were honest didn't try to get more money out of you and went over all options. We were able to bring him in after he passed peacefully guarding our door as usual. It was his spot it seemed. He didn't want me to see him go. We were all devastated. 3 of our 4 came home from school so we could bring him in vca to be cremated. They had a room to be in and say the last goodbyes that was warm and pleasant. They made phone calls after each found out what happened. The front desk the doctor and another staff member who treated Pongo. They sent cards and even personal phone calls to extend sorrow. Apologize for detail but those who read reviews might be interested in the personal touch this facility did for us. You can tell everyone that works there is happy and it shows in how they interact with clients and their pets and even with each other. When I arrived, the front office staff got on the ground (sat on the ground) for quite a bit with my pups to calm them and take information from me. I've never met a veterinarian like Dr. Siringo. Just from my one visit, I saw how much he absolutely LOVES animals. His exams are extremely thorough, he was able to make my pups feel at ease (which is not easy to do when they're at the vet), answered all my questions in layman's terms and even chatted with my pups. This California Veterinary Specialists is running a huge scam operation. For example, ultrasound for dogs costs about $1000, but elsewhere in Riverside or San Diego County it's $300-500, 150$ avg other cheaper states. So basically, what they do is they just keep adding each necessary exam or lab as they go along and ,remember this is emergency situations, as they charge roughly 5-15x times more for everything. Do not take your pets there it's literally a rout to execution. This company should close down because they are hurting our pets because pet owners are taking their loved ones there and for most of the time living with treatments not completed due to finances. They claim they're doing good but they need to be stopped this is truly evil. Sooo I hate to give a 1 star for one person because i absolutely love the Drs and techs however the one who answers the phone needs to be re thought as I wouldn't want to bring my pet here with her horrible rudeness, BRENNA is nothing even close to friendly or nice. She is rude, cold, short, and did not make me feel safe to ever want bringing another pet back here. My pets have gone here for years very well taken care of my drs and techs. Ashligh, Kelly, Haley, Dr S and Dr D are awesome. I called when my pet passed away to cancel a few things I was signed up like dental payment plan and unlimited vet visits and BRENNA answered the phone again I asked to speak with Haley as she knew my kitty well but got asked what I was calling for instead, in which I told her and she was very cold and rude no I'm sorry for you loss just I'll have the Dr cancel it. I did ask if I would and could get a cancel confirmation email and I got well cancel it and have a nice day bye pretty much. As for a few other times when an appointment was needed Brenna would answer the phone she was always very rude, didn't want to help, didn't care to even try and fit you in if it was more urgent. I was looking for a new vet and found their free first visit and good reviews so I decided to give them a try. They set up an appointment right away, they were so kind and caring towards my baby and just generally had a great disposition all around the office. I got emailed copies of the medical records and ask kinds of other information relating to why my cat was being seen. Had to make a very difficult decision to send my precious furrbaby to the Rainbow Bridge last week. VCA were very compassionate, caring and so comforting. They let us stay in one of the exam rooms to say out goodbyes. They made sure to let us know that we can take as much time as we need. They explained to us the process and patient in answering all of our questions. They send our furrbaby to her next journey very peaceful and pain free. I received a beautiful sympathy card from them over my terrible loss. I thought that it was very thoughtful. We he only thing that I was upset about was when I went to pick up my furrbabies ashes, they took her out of a desk drawer. I felt like she was just a file folder. If I could give this place a hundred stars, I would. I've never seen a vet location so carrying of their patients. The inside is homey, the welcome card is so sweet, it smells nice, and the staff treat your pets just like one of their own. They don't try to up sale you or scare you into thinking you need to spend thousands of dollars on expensive specialized tests and give you 1-5 scales on how bad your pet is, like some local vets do. Not a huge fan of this place to be honest. Went to a bunch of different animal hospitals getting pricing on having my puppy "fixed." This place was the most expensive in town. And the staff was a little bit pushy by trying to get me to set an appointment right then and there. When I had stated that "I'm shopping around, getting pricing." I understand trying to get peoples business, but I wasn't looking to commit to any pet hospital yet. I was new in town, had a new furbaby, and wanted to find the best place to take my pup for surgeries, shots etc. This was not the place based on how high their prices were and the pushiness. I found a great vet on the other side of town, and I'm glad that I decided to go there instead of this place. Also, location wise, it's out of the way a bit.
