That was a red flag so I threw his quote in the trash. The third was comparable in price with Sousa and the other, but the sales guy was not so friendly. Like I owed him for his time. Maybe because he saw me as an elder so he felt he could try to take advantage of me, not sure. First off Sousa wasn't the cheapest and frankly about $800 more than the other roofing contractor. The reason I chose Sousa was because they gave me their cost up front, with a very detailed proposal listing everything even with costs up front in case I need to replace plywood etc., and didn't try to haggle me with extras. I did ask if they could take some money off, and they agreed to discount 300 bucks. Still a few hundred more than the other roofer but my gut was telling me lean towards Sousa. There was no start high, then sell me this and that, we have the Cadillac version, we have this version. Just give me a damn quote that tells me what I get and how much. So something didn't sit right with me, so I went with Sousa. Gave them my word over the phone. The next day I met with the owner and we signed the contract and scheduled my roof install. Within six days I had materials delivered, crew showed up at 7am and a new roof installed by 5pm and everything cleaned up. The owner set his guys up in the morning, then popped by again a few hours later and we chatted for a good hour about everything but the roof. What a fine young man he is. Very down to earth and good person. I'm happy with my roof. We have had a lot rain since and no issues so far. My son who lives in Plainville also needs a new roof and has already signed up Sousa to do the work at the end of June. I highly recommend Sousa Roofing and would use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a roofer. God Bless.

At one point, I had to tell the project manager that I did not want anyone in my home until I met with him. The lack of craftsmanship, and integrity was upsetting to say the least. Who puts kitchen cabinets in before painting??? Once the job was complete, it took Vaz Construction another month to come back and finish the things that were not completed. Felcor had to return Multiple Times to Repair/Replace Unsatisfactory Work that Was Done in the Construction of my deck last year. Felcor installed damaged/stained Trex fascia boards and lattice even though I told Michael Wood the Exterior Product Manager for Lowe's it was Defective and They Should Have Known! I was also impressed that they gave a 10 year warranty on their work. Unfortunately, when you need to call on them to honor their warranty things go badly very quickly. I was selling my house and as a part of that process the buyer's inspector got on the roof in May 2025. He took a picture of what was essentially a swimming pool on my roof. The water wasn't draining. Interestingly, Couto was already aware of the issue because they told me about it when they did the last roof job in March 2025. But despite me calling several times to see when they would fix the issue, they just put me off and never came. With the impending sale and the swimming pool on my flat roof, I called in for emergency assistance. They literally kept telling me they were coming out the next day for weeks. It took them a month to finally get around to dealing with my emergency, and that was after my almost daily calls, emails and text messages. I tried to get one of the Couto brothers to speak with me but apparently they couldn't be bothered with it. The moral to the story is they are great for initial work, but don't count on them to come through in a timely manner when you need them for warranty work.

AWFUL customer service paid for job in full, Mike and his business partner never ordered the…read morematerials for the job and told me everything was ordered and then on back order from home depot, and they were holding the order in their warehouse once it came in. I called Home Depot myself because now it has been three months in no word on when the job would've been completed. Home Depot then told me that there was never an order put in for those materials as Mike had stated. So I reached out to Mike and I told him that I personally called Home Depot, and there was never an order put in under his name, his business partner's name or his business name. Mike then called himself and was told the same information when I asked to cancel the order. He told me that Home Depot would not cancel it as it was a special order per the email that he had got days prior. He told me that he would refund me in full in two weeks. I reached out numerous times to him for the refund of over $5000 and I kept getting that he didn't the money and that he was waiting to go to court for his ex wife and other jobs to be paid for and then he can pay me. He then told me that he would pay me one week half the money in the next week the rest. The first payment of that money was paid to me within that first week, but I had to go out and meet them. the second payment I was told it would be on a Wednesday but conveniently he was not available and I had to wait until the following Saturday to get paid that last money so all in all I paid for a job in September 2025 and I just received the money back in March 2026 with no actual work done to my home. I do not recommend this company at all for any job.
