My mom had worked there for about 35 years and they welcomed her back as a resident with open arms. Ana always was there to answer questions quick to respond on emails and calls. Working with Ana was a fantastic experience; she was incredibly knowledgeable and efficient". Ana always displayed high-level professionalism and made the entire process stress-free. I highly recommend talking with Ana when considering this property for your loved ones. Ana went above and beyond to solve our issues or concerns I had. I did look at other properties in San Diego and they looked and felt like dorms or prison not to match the price. The Gardens had the lowest price for the best clean rooms and staff, the caregivers are very nice always there when needed. The Gardens felt like Family Ana made us feel like family. My mom is happy and safe. My 2 concerns: 1: with the wait staff and servers most of then were nice and friendly but a handful were always grumpy and just not professional.. They are not quick to see if someone comes in to eat and take there order or even clear the tables so other people can come in and sit. Note: I saw a server not on break in the kitchen area just eating chocolate Ice Cream, I thought Really!!!! 2: They need better activities all day even if only a handful of people are there: Example when they go in trips they should have something going on if you don't go. Granted the facilities were in Riverside and San Bernadino County, not San Diego. St Paul's is excellent. The building is older, but the staff are top notch, the place is clean and everyone is cared for. There is a check in kiosk inside the door. The nurses are helpful to visitors as well as their patients. Visiting hours are 8am to 7pm ish. Thank you for taking great care of my friend. I look forward to seeing my friend home soon.

My 91 year old mother has been a resident there for more than 3 years and my experience with a majority of the staff and Esabel Cano in particular has been very positive. I live in New Jersey and am unable to see my mother more than a few times a year. I rely on Esabel and the other staff like Rosa, Sol, Randy and the other nurses and CNA's to not only provide compassionate medical care for my mother but to also to ensure that her day to day living is as pleasant as possible. My mother can be a very difficult and demanding person that requires an enormous amount of patience. Without going into the gory details, I will just say that anyone that can deal with her is a saint. They are always sensitive and caring to her and keep me informed on her situation regularly. I must also so that I have been extremely impressed with the precautions that the facility have put in place to ensure the safety of residents during this pandemic. While it is difficult for families not to be able to see their love ones, I for one am very grateful that visitors are no longer permitted in the facility. Their proactive and well-thought out plan for protecting residents should be applauded. It is pretty amazing that not one patient has contracted the virus. In normal situations, these jobs are difficult. The staff are putting their lives at risk every day and I for one, am extremely grateful.

They have the best of a board and care and the best of a facility and none of the bad of those places. I've spent at least 5 hours a day there every day and the staff have shown over and over that they really care. They have made efforts above and beyond my expectations to make my Dad feel at home, cared for, and even loved. They have also made me and my family feel at home when we are there. Dad's dementia got so much worse that we could no longer care for him. They worked with us to get him in and comfortable so quickly after a fall at home that made his needs dramatically worse. They moved him closer than we had arranged so they could keep a closer eye on him and be quicker to help him. I love that there are plenty of people there that just need assisted living too. The variety is so good for him. The pet tortoise there provides Dad with entertainment that suits him. They have activities programmed that are wonderful too. The grounds are beautiful. Gigi and Iliana run this place so well. Wonderful staff, wonderful facilities, wonderful price, wonderfully administrated, and the meals look amazing. They did stock my Dads favorites when he did not want to eat and now he is eating again. I met the owner, Jeff, and he seems to be genuinely kind too. Every day I feel more and more confident that he is in the best place I could ever hope for. Thank you to Gigi, Iliana, Sonia, Chris, Carlos, Daniel, Carina, Alia, Maria and the rest of the staff for your patience and care! I hope to learn the names of more of you. My beautiful mother has been a resident at MesaView Senior Assisted Living for almost two years…read more My mother has dementia. Having to place my mom into a facility was a difficult and painful decision. But my mother needed care to keep her safe, more care than I was capable of safely providing her. So in dealing with the guilt of this decision to place her in a facility, I feel beyond blessed to have found MesaView Senior Assisted Living. To begin, Genoveva was warm, understanding, reassuring and welcoming. It was a rough time to move her, as it was also during COVID. But, Genoveva made the move seamless, in doing everything to make my mother feel safe and comfortable, as well as us. The facility is beautiful! An inviting and renovated room to call her own (we decorated with her personal belongings). A fantastic large open yard for her to be outside and enjoy, which was important for her and to us. There is even a large turtle that roams freely, as well as birds that sing, to put a smile on all the residents faces. The facility is smaller, cozy and more charming than a larger facility. I never feel like my mother will be confused or lost among too many people; I have observed how she smiles as she recognizes the people there (even with her dementia). The staff is absolutely incredible! The staff are always helpful, professional, kind, warm and friendly to the resident's and their needs, as well as the families. You can always hear them cheerfully greeting the residents by name even when just walking by. They are fantastic in their communication with me about medications and any concerns I or they may have about my mother. They are available 24/7 for any of your questions or concerns. Let me add, they did a fantastic job for the resident's safety during COVID times. The food...they strive and take pride in providing very healthy meal plans for the residents, with respect for meeting individual's needs as well. I am so VERY grateful for the amazing staff, they are truly the best!!! Now that Covid is relaxing guidelines, more activities are opening up for the residents and their families at MesaView. They have a calendar of daily activities available for the resident's enjoyment. They also plan special holiday family days, which are always lovely to participate in. I could go on forever about the many good things MesaView Senior Assisted Living has to offer. I feel blessed and happy my mother is safely in their care. She did not get the chance to live in the independent living area as she was admitted to the healthcare center but she loved it. From that first Saturday night we were treated as family. It was still COVID and they had wonderful precautions that always made you feel safe. Momma immediately became part of the community She may not have been able to walk but she had everything else. She joined in the recreations from bingo to "21" to dominoes to singing and telling stories. Everyone knew her. She thrives on making people laugh and the entire staff loves her. Mt Miguel was a true gift to our family. From the CNA's to the kitchen staff to the recreational staff they always made momma feel great. A special shout out to Tom and Olivia who not only always made sure momma was good -they now have become our friends for life. We never wanted to have to admit momma anywhere but it eventually became too much for us to handle. Mt. Miguel saved our family and we will be forever grateful for the care, the love, the compassion and the excellent care she received until the end. I will recommend Mt. Miguel to everyone I know. My mother lived at The Montera for the last 3 years of her 101 year life. Along with my family, we…read morevisited about a dozen other facilities before we decided on The Montera. We choose it because of the facility itself and the staff. The rooms are spacious and well-kept. For the past 3 years I have noticed that it is always clean and extremely well maintained. They have been sprucing it up the past year in areas that were getting worn. They've done a nice job. It provide pleasant environment for the residents. They offer a varied menu and I have always found the food is often better than any other institutional food I have eaten. In three years I never experienced an awful meal. I live locally so I did eat there on many occasions. They provide a varied offering for every meal. There is also a large and varied daily schedule of activities for the residents. As my mother's health declined one of her strongest complaints was that she was unable to go to her daily activities and hang with her friends. But of course the most important aspect when considering any facility is the staff. In three years I have meet dozens of employees and have been highly impressed with the level of concern and care and, most importantly, the patience I have seen by almost all of the staff. I have never seen anything untoward. I have noticed a somewhat high turnover level, especially in the administrative staff, over the past three years but they seem to do a good job refilling those positions with the same like-minded staff. There are at least a dozen staff members I would label as always going up and beyond to assist the residents. I would like to add that I recognize it isn't easy working with some residents due to their disabilities and their frustrations with their life as it is now but the staff at Montera does it with aplomb, respect and kindness.
