EMOTIONLESS FRAUD "Maybe A Scholar But NOT A Gentleman" My wife felt blessed when she found Dr. Karl William Shwarz's plastic surgery education videos on Social Media. After birthing 5 children and unfortunately suffering the loss of our third son to an accident several year's prior, she was finally mentally ready at the age of 50 to do something for herself. She scheduled a consultation with Dr. William Shwarz after 2 failed attempts with other surgeons for a tummy tuck and still having a distended abdomen. WE WERE NOT EXPECTING WHAT OCCURRED IN OUR SHORT 5 MINUTE CONSULTATION. She was like a child waiting for this appointment based on his specific educational video covering the challenges she has suffered. (1 of 600 videos according to his profile). Upon our arrival, as my wife is called for her visit, I walk along her for emotional support as this has been a difficult journey. To our surprise, we are stopped by the nurse and my wife is firmly told "Patients ONLY.....NO Husbands". We urged the nurse to consult with the doctor for my presence and comfort to my wife and they complied. We brushed it off and prepared for the doctor's Evaluation. Upon his entry he seemed in a hurry. He asked my wife to please share what procedures she has done and why was she seeking his services. My wife excitedly and Finally hoping to have an answer to her previous failed procedures, begins to explain her past surgery. Within 10 seconds he interrupts her and states.....So why are you here, what do you need me for? My wife chuckles thinking he is being funny....BUT HE WAS NOT! My wife opens her gown and shows her distended abdomen and states "I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU NEED (pauses) NOTHING!" "I can't do anything for you....that's just your body and your organs while proceeding with a fist pump her and walked away. At this point we felt PUNKED. This has to be a joke. As my wife's eyes teared up and she tried to ask for an explanation in detail so she may understand, He stops her again and states "there is one problem....you were born in 1974" referring to her 50 years of age. My wife confused asks again and his final words were "I already fist pumped you, there is nothing I can do, I need to go" and walks out. Anger and rage instinctively were felt yet we smiled, said "Thank you" and left. For the next couple of hours my wife cried profusely in disbelief. How can a surgeon be this cold? I reassured her that everything is under God's Will and he was not the doctor for her and personally not the doctor for anyone not searching for vanity. BEWARE AS DR. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED 6 months post op by Dr.william I have been wanting to get a BBL for over 5 years, and now that I finally had the money and the time and believed I had found the right doctor I get a result like this unpleasant. Every time I look myself in the mirror I feel so much regret. I feel betrayed for how much money and time I spend and dedication to the recovery protocol to end up looking almost the same. It's like I just got a minor enchantment nothing noticeable. When I will go in for the massages in multiple occasions I was told by the girls who work there "you didn't get a BBL right" I am aware that I was a slim person before the surgery but that didn't seem like an issue the day of my consultation. I was actually told I was a perfect candidate not sure what that meant now. I was just easy money, so devastating. When I reached out about my concerns, telling them that my hip dips weren't filled, I was told that my tissue was too tight and wasn't possible, what? When I ask about my glutes I got zero response. I was also left with a bump hanging down on my upper belly and on my lower back. where a dip to create a silhouette would be, but with that dump on the lower back it gives me no form and for that I was told to wait a 1 year for a revision. Officially I was supposed to have surgery with Dr William paid in full on my pre op day in the very COLD room the MD over 2 hours late to come with no real review about me and fall....He kproceeded to tell me I need additional imaging. A CT AT THAT WITH CONTRAST.....The office staff pretty much changes their attitude towards you if something comes up! I got the CT done in hopes that per my fall as I told them prior to coming there that it would just be scar tissue or a hematoma and that is exactly what was on the CT this board certified surgeon, Dr William a day and a half later decides to cancel my surgery after I had made all these preparations and came out of town and told the staff that I fell and I have a knot on my backside. Either way Dr William Cancel my surgery and that's all fine. If you can't do it you can't do it, but don't take 6 to 8 weeks to give me my money back and I still have not had any refund to my card. No one from the office has called me back and I am about to see what my other legal options are to get my money back at this point in time it feels like if you know you're not going to do a surgery doctor and office. You should try to get patients money back to them as soon as possible. Came here for a consult and the staff were extremely accommodating and kind. Dr. Durand was a sweetheart and answered every single question I had and with a good attitude. Lara, the patient coordinator was really nice and organized with my appointments which I appreciated immensely! The pricing was laid out in a thorough way so there were no hidden fees of any sorts. They offer payment plans which is a bonus! The procedure was yesterday and I couldn't be happier with my results so far. Dr. Durand, the nurses, and anesthesiologists in the OR made me feel at ease and confident about the procedure. Everyone was extremely professional and kind. The doctor also prescribed all my medications a week before with specific instructions and that was a huge plus. They're very detail oriented here and that's extremely important to me as a patient. My first experience at Careaga was an earlobe repair when my earring ripped through my earlobe in high school. The staff there are all bilingual and so loving and caring. I chose Careaga for my Rhinoplasty and used all the money I had saved as a 17 year old and finally got operated on my biggest insecurity. Plastic surgery is always nerve racking regardless of where you go, but with Careaga I was already comfortable with the staff and excited for my new change. Although Dr.Durand didn't give me the tiny button nose I wanted so badly he gave me a natural and beautiful sloped nose. I am only 5 months post-op so the swelling hasn't gone down completely. I feel so beautiful and I am sure 15 years from now I will appreciate Dr.Durand's decision to keep the natural look and fit my nose to the proportions of my face instead of listening to a 17 year old girl who wanted to look like all the other girls do on tiktok. I am now seeking more cosmetic procedures and I decided to write this review because I recognize how comfortable I am with Careaga Plastic Surgery. I saw Reana the PA for lip and cheek fillers and a lip flip and had a wonderful experience! She knows what product will look best in each different area of the face and really listened to what I was hoping to achieve. She explains everything and lets you know what to expect regarding pain during the procedure, swelling, recovery time, etc. and gave great post-care instructions. The medical assistant and front desk ladies were also lovely. A great and comfortable experience the entire time! I am only 2 days post- procedure and have some bruising, so I went out and wore brown lip stick to cover it up. I thought everyone would notice the bruising but I actually got so many compliments on my lips specifically. Some girls even took a photo of the lipstick I was wearing they liked it so much :) No one knew I had filler or a flip done, they just thought my lips looked great. Dr Careaga botched me. I waited one year and a half to write a review. In 2019, he did, TT, JPlasma on arms and inner thighs and one breast areola reduction. I can say that I am not happy with anything that he did. And the worst and sad part about it, is that he is aware of everything and he is not willing or had never offer to help me or do a revision. With the TT, he left extra loose skin after in the upper abdomen. My abdomen has never felt like it did before, I feel a chronic pain and is very uncomfortable. It feels that I have a hard ball on the right side with lots of pressure as if is pushing my bladder and it bulges out. On the thighs, he left 4 ugly scar incisions, two from the drains and two from the JPlasma, where you can see when wearing underwear, he didn't even try to hide those incisions. He ruin one of my arms from JPlasma as well. He left me with extra wrinkle skin on the upper part of one arm. And last but not least, he ruin my areola. Enough reason for me to say that he botched me and of course he will never admit to it as most of these plastic surgeons think that they make no mistakes. All Dr Careaga knows what to say is to "wait". That is his answer to everything. after I told him about all of these issues and he has seen it with his own eyes because I have pointed it out to him many times and ask him questions, he just looks at me like if I am crazy. He is very arrogant and shows no mercy and even worst, doesn't even offer to help. I've had been going to other surgeons for help and they are actually helping me even though they didn't perform my surgery. One doctor send me to get a CT scan done and another one is requesting a copy of the CT scan CD, so he can take a look of what it is going inside. This will be lengthy due to all of the complications I experienced. Overall, I would never return to this doctor or recommend him to friends, family, or even strangers. The key points are that this surgery resulted in wound dehiscence (the surgical incision opened back up), left an awful scar, I had to have follow up appointments due to the complications for 2 years, and I still feel pain spontaneously and sensitive to the touch. The biggest fault with the doctor was also the poor communication. Background: I had a tummy tuck because I hated the scar left from my classical c-section (from my belly button down). This prevented me from wearing bikinis. I discussed this with Dr. Careaga and he assured me that this surgery would leave me with no visible scar in a bikini. I weighed 111 pounds before and after this surgery, so this surgery was not intended for weight loss. I paid for a drainless tummy tuck which is more than the alternative. When I woke up postop, I was very confused as to why I had 2 drains. I was never given an explanation as to why the change of plans until I asked weeks later. The additional money for drainless was not refunded until I again brought this to the attention of the staff. This money was later allocated towards the follow up "massages" they recommended that I have at their office for the complications. I thought it was very kind that the doctor gave me his cell phone number to reach him in case of any emergency. I decided to text him when I realized the incision was opening back up in three different locations. He assured me that this was normal over and over again for several months. We sent him pictures and still he told me this was a normal occurence. He gave me numerous injections and ointments to use. I followed his instructions religiously. It wasn't until he decided to RECUT and close the incision almost a year later that it finally closed. However, it left an even larger scar than my c-section did (from hip to hip). He prescribed a bleach ointment for another year that I continued to use, but this did not improve the results. He recommended that I pay to have some kind of laser treatment to minimize the scarring, but this would have to be paid out of pocket. To this day, I cannot move like I used to. I still experience pain often. I feel a burning sensation randomly. Not to mention, that my abdomen is incredibly sensitive to touch. It has been 3 years since the surgery. This does not seem normal despite his countless assurances. The surgery created a lot of complications and fear which could have been minimized through explanations and good communication from the doctor. However, he never provided prompt explanations or communicated. read more

Everything seemed promising until the surgery day. I came in at 3pm as instructed (not having eaten anything) only to be asked to come back in 'around' an hour. ((Way to freak someone out before their surgery)). The next day after surgery I was instructed to come in at 10am, was seen two hours later and was told by the doctor "it's my day off just got back from the gym" ... Don't schedule me if its your day off. Every single post operation appointment I've had I have not been seen earlier than 30 minutes AFTER my scheduled appointment. Only for him to walk in and spend less than 3 minutes with me. He's not bad but not 5 stars like the reviews state. Not punctual to the point it's disrespectful, we are not doctors but our time is no less important than his. I have gone to several places looking for the right place for and this was it! The staff is absolutely delightful. Amy was absolutely amazing loved speaking to her we discussed all my needs and she was truthful and helpful without trying to push things on me that I didn't need.
