The doctor may be very skilled, but when his staff is rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, it completely erodes any confidence a patient might have in the practice. After all, patients interact with the staff far more than they do with the doctor himself. In this case, the patient coordinator's behavior was absolutely unacceptable. When my call was transferred to her, I politely asked for her name. Instead of answering a basic and reasonable question, she refused to provide it and only stated her title. Throughout the conversation, she was short, dismissive, and consistently rude. At the end of the call, I asked again for her name, and she deliberately hung up on me. This was not an accidental disconnect -- I called back immediately, six separate times, and every call went unanswered. This was an appalling experience, and the conduct of this surgical coordinator was downright despicable. Her behavior alone has completely discouraged me from pursuing any type of procedure with this practice, surgical or non-surgical. I had a neck lift from "Dr" Afrooz. I knew when I woke up something wasn't right. My neck felt tight and it was hard to swallow but I figured it would go away. Fast forward two years later and the feeling has not changed. I have trouble swallowing and I can't sleep as I feel choked 24/7. This is the worst Dr I have ever dealt with. Stay away!!! From my daughter's first rhinoplasty consultation with Dr. Afrooz, she knew he was the right surgeon for her. He answered all of her questions, she never felt rushed, and he confirmed that he could correct all the problems with her nose that she identified. Dr. Afrooz is incredibly detail-oriented and meticulous, as was apparent in her pre-op consultation so she felt confident in her decision. The team of patient coordinators, Angel and Debbie, were professional, responsive, reassuring, and knowledgeable. As a healthcare professional myself, I feel inclined to share my experience to help anyone else looking for guidance. I was seeking a revision rhinoplasty 22 years after my primary due to a deviated septum but had no real functional issues with breathing and just wanted a straight nose. Dr Afrooz seemed caring and interested in my case and initially I felt comfortable. I used his Instagram page, google review and real self reviews to do my homework on him. What I have come to realize is that he was much more interested in criticizing my original nose than on preparing and educating me on the plan to fix it. There were no computer morphs done like other surgeons do and no real explanation to me on how to fix my issues. I just trusted he knew what he was doing however, I should have done more research myself on grafts but you don't know what you don't know. The day of surgery came, he rushed in with his laptop as I was on the surgery prep table and on his laptop there was my profile picture on it. He took 5 seconds to show me on his computer how he planned to change my bridge but it wasn't a morph, it was a line drawn on my nose picture. I was shaking and super nervous as they were about to give me anesthesia and saw the office pictures he was pointing too but again no real plan discussed. Surgery took longer than expected and he told me needed to take some rib cartilage for my reconstruction. After surgery, I was in what I would consider to be an expected amount of pain and discomfort but nothing pain meds couldn't handle. There was a follow up a week later for my cast and stent removal which he was NOT present for as he was out of the office that day which was disappointing to me. When my cast came off I knew I had made a huge mistake. I could tell I had a totally different looking face. My nose was definitely straight but what hadn't been discussed was the plan for my tip. I honestly didn't think that would be changing that much as my primary concern was my deviated septum but at the cast removal I could see a huge chunk of rib cartilage which I now know to be called a tip graft attached to my tip of my nose giving me a very pointed look. The nurse in his office who removed my cast assured me it was just swelling but I knew better. Retrospectively, what I have come to evaluate was a lack of communication about aesthetics. What Dr Afrooz thought looked good to him is not at all what I wanted. There should have been more discussion on technique and if he wasn't the doctor to help me he should have said so. At cast removal, I didn't look like myself and now not to mention because how pointy my nose is it, I'm having difficulty breathing because of all the added bulky cartilage grafts. Also, now when I smile the tip graft shows through my skin as a white triangle. Fast forward to 6 months later when I request my full patient file from his office to start getting second opinions to get all this fixed. Instead of giving me my file, the office schedules another video phone visit with Dr Afrooz. During this call, I again express my functional difficulties with breathing and dissatisfaction with the overall aesthetic of my new nose. I stated that adding a pointy tip and rim grafts to someone's nose should have been discussed prior to surgery for my opinion and if I would have been educated in everything he was going to do I probably would have changed my mind and not gone through with this at all. That's when things changed with this doctor's attitude. Instead of listening to my feedback he quickly went to a defensive position and stated to me he had concerns about my mental health and then proceeded to say he could correct my issues in an additional surgery but he was also extremely concerned with what he described as "dragging his name through the mud" if I remained unsatisfied. Now mind you, I have meet with this doctor a total of possibly 4 times up to this point, and mostly on video calls, so for him to have this insight into my mental state was unbelievable and offensive to me. It's like he reached into his playbook of how to deal with an unhappy patient and this is what was in his list of things to say. Needless to say, I found his comments not only insulting but completely dismissive of my situation. I had paid over $20K for this surgery and don't feel like this was the outcome I was expecting so of course anyone who did the same would be upset. I'm not one to leave reviews but in this situation I feel inclined to do so. I find it so disappointing that this is the doctor I chose to do this surgery and he treated me so disrespectfully after the fact. You can tell the character of someone when things become challenging or a surgery doesn't go as expected. Dr.Afrooz is very kind and caring in the beginning BUT if you don't like his work that's another story. After the 2-3rd day of my chin implant surgery I realized the front of my face looked extremely long which I asked about before and Dr.Afrooz assured me it wouldn't change my front profile. Unfortunately that was not the case at all. Since day 2 or 3 I've been contacting the nurse asking for removal options. After my one week post op I went in crying that I wanted it removed. He stated it looked great and he wouldn't entertain the idea of removal. I told him I was having panic attacks and couldn't even go back to work. He told me it was a little problem and I had to keep waiting. I told him the swelling was from the sides not the length of it. He then stated "are you a doctor?" At this point I had already seen other doctors for removal options. I am not a doctor, but I did talk to doctors/ consult with them. Most of them said the original doctor should remove it for free if I'm this unsatisfied this quickly. Throughout the post op appointment he kept trying to get up from his seat to leave. At the end of our conversation he said if I couldn't wait to remove it maybe we weren't the correct fit? I seemed to be the correct fit when they charged me 7000 for my procedure. I looked like the character from scream and still do over 4 weeks post op. Additionally I'm having trouble closing my mouth because the implant he placed was so big for my face. I also have numbness still in most of my lower half which usually only lasts 1-2 weeks but I'm already at 4. Thankfully I found another doctor who said my swelling is barley there and it's safe to remove. He's given me high odds that my face will return back since I'm removing it so quickly ( which puts me at 4 week mark). I never even knew sometimes it doesn't go back or there are complications which I was never informed about like saggy skin, dimpling, or a witches chin. About 5 days ago I finally got it removed with the new doctor and hoping to recover fully and move on from this nightmare. I wish I wouldn't have came to see him, or at least that he would of had the decency to hear his patient and work on solving the issue instead of saying it looked great. I am the patient, this is on my face. I'll attach pictures of how I looked before and how I looked with the implant (pink shirt). Additionally the other doctors I saw also asked if I had seen the implant. I said no? I was never shown anything and last minute 5 minutes before my surgery he stated he was going to give me a longer implant with wings. If I could go back in time I would, not even for the money but for my mental health. I had to start going to therapy because I was so depressed and my panic attacks would not stop. I had a rhinoplasty with Dr. Afrooz on July 1st and I am really happy with my results. I had a large, uneven bulbous nose and contemplated rhinoplasty for many, many, many, many years but choosing a doctor always seemed so daunting. In June I decided that I would start seriously looking for a doctor and Dr. Afrooz was the first one that I met. After our initial conversation, I had a gut feeling about him and decided to book the surgery. I am out of state so I had to handle the preliminary clearance myself and had trouble getting it. His office helped me do that and really went out of their way to make the surgery possible. I am out of state so I did not get to physically see the office until a couple of days before the surgery. It was a really nice space, easy to get to and I liked that it all happened in one place, rather than at a hospital. It felt more secure and personal that way. Dr. Afrooz called me the night before the surgery to check in on me and I arrived the next day for the surgery. The night of the surgery was a bit rough for me but Dr. Afrooz stayed in touch personally and instructed my husband on how to take care of me. I was nauseous from the meds and he seemed genuinely concerned for me and wanted to make me as comfortable as possible. My recovery has been good so far, but I still have a lot of swelling to work on. Dr. Afrooz has been in touch every week even though I am in NY and has managed my expectations for my recovery. He's been straight forward about what I can expect and I don't feel like he's just telling me what I want to hear. I still have a road ahead of me but I love my new nose. I feel like a new person and every day I can see it change and improve. I'll post photos of my final result later on but so far I am happy with what I see. I Wish Every Doctor Ran Their Practice Like Dr. Afrooz Does.. Where do I begin? I was referred to Dr. Afrooz by a trusted friend who is also a plastic surgeon in the Miami area. Being that I needed a rhinoplasty to straighten my crooked nose from multiple prior injuries that was causing nasal breathing issues..he told me Dr. Afrooz was the best. After a couple consultations I very quickly realized why. The doctor educated me about doing a "Septoplasty" & "Turbinate Reduction" along with a rhinoplasty that would fully correct the issue. I had done two procedures over the last 10 years via ENT Surgeons that never mentioned any of these two corrections I actually needed all along and unfortunately that is why both were unsuccessful. One month ago today I had this 3 part complicated procedure done and I am very pleased with the results already. One last thing I will say that has really stood out to me aside from him being a great surgeon...Dr. Afrooz is so hands on and runs his practice very efficiently. I saw him twice before my surgery and now once a week since (6). Although he is very busy, I have never waited when I arrive for my appointments. Cosmetic surgery can be tricky...I know this first-hand after having a minimal; if any result.. procedure on my neck about 7 years ago. When I decided that the issue that I wanted to resolve back then had only gotten worse I decided to take my time and find the right surgeon and a procedure that while cutting edge was not gimmicky. After googling up the most relevant surgeons in South Florida and a few virtual consults in the middle of the pandemic that did not leave me warm and fuzzy it was time to meet in person with Dr. Paul Afrooz. I can tell you that from the first time that I called his office everyone seemed engaged, and I could tell they enjoyed their roles. The day came for my office visit and when I walked in the friendly front office staff knew my name, was expecting me led me straight to the consult room.....then magically 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment Dr. Afrooz walked in confidently and with a fresh smile and ready to listen. He took his time to get to know me and then started to analyze my neck, the composition, profiles, muscles etc. before giving me my options which were basically 2; get a neck lift or do nothing. He went through the entire procedure, recovery time and showed me some pictures of similar cases and their outcomes. I asked a bunch of silly questions that he took his time to answer and then he told me if I was interested in moving forward to speak to the patient coordinator for the details. In all he spent like 25 minutes with me which was more than enough. Arrogant, full of pride, inexpert, lies about his experience, commits malpractice and then he doesn't even returns your money. Brings yo in her assistant who he pays to tell you "I don't see anything wrong" he is SHAMELESS. He makes you believe you can trust him and tries to sell you big procedures like if he was the most reliable and expert plastic surgeon. But money is nothing when someone deforms your earlobes and makes you look WEIRD and deformed. I had a little enlarged earlobes due to wearing earrings for many years, something common, my ears looked normal, it was just a taste matter. His malpractice caused me a big issue. Earlobes are part of your profile, part of your face for a woman and for a man. I had to spend a lot of money to start repairing only the skin for his unbelievable uneven and deformed work. I haven't been able to wear ponytails since then. The only thing I do regret is being extra nice and extra patient with his surroundings only because he was sharing office space with someone I did always respect and in a way I did not want this to affect him. I didn't look for afrooz, I found him on someone's else's office that he was using to capture his probably firsts patients. He actually found me. I was in a office doing botox and he was introduced to me, sold to me, he was selling himself, I only trusted the people in that office space thats why I believed afrooz was someone serious. I had to go back to the office for some reason and while in the waiting room a woman told me she was there for earlobe repair, I had to tell her "do not do it with afrooz" and showed her my ear lobes. She was horrified by it and the front desk girl runned towards me to try to silence me, they didn't want me to tell anyone about the truth. SHAME. I regret being so nice, people like this do not deserve my silence and discretion. Afrooz's patients need to know. If she tried to silence me that means she knew that afrooz deformed my earlobes, in that case if they aknolowged that, why they didn't force him to return my money and compensate me and pay for repair surgery on top of it on them? I was very deceived, I use to like that office and other doctors in there but this was poorly handled. Nobody fixed it, paid for repair, offered compensation or forced him to pay me. They said they wanted to help me (other doctors in the office) but they didn't. Because really Paul Afrooz just washed his hands after messing up my ears two times! and everybody around him were between sword and wall. What I did because of that is that I have visited all the best plastic surgeons in town and asked for an honest opinion during a consultation specifically to hear their opinion about this and only to confirm what he didn't want to admit, only to confirm this was not my illumination, and guess what, nobody believed this deformation was made by a serious plastic surgeon, everybody was horrified by it. I have been extremely self conscious because of it. ALL OF THEM HAD THE SAME OPINION. "WHAT A MESS" "WHO DID THAT TO YOU?" "WHERE THIS GUY GOT HIS LISCENCE?" "CERTANLY HAS NO IDEA OF WHAT HE IS DOIING" oh, how interesting, plastic surgeons who would not gain or loose anything with this (the price for repairing that was not something worth compared to how much money these guys earn for larger procedures, the weight of their name in the industry and reputation, versus how much they could loose in reputation if they couldn't fix afrooz mess) It was like completely two different earlobes not belonging and poorly attached All about it was wrong. The only really honest doctor in Afrooz's office who went the extra mile for me and was painfully honest who use to share office space in the same floor, Dr Feliz Rodriguez, like everybody else outside the office he gave me an honest opinion, he was surprised and was trying to basically no being an asshole with his colleague surgeon while being truthful to me, Feliz didn't know what to tell me or how to fix Afrooz mess. Feliz was very professional and correct. I had a repair consultation twice with him and there was nothing to do at the moment, he was in shock when he realized that I had still stitches in the earlobes that weren't removed by Afrooz and they were just stuck forever in my earlobes, not the self absorbent ones, the other ones. HE HAD TO REMOVE THEM FOR ME because Afrooz didn't even do that. SHAME. Thank you Feliz. Someone honest. I can not explain what this is been for me. Worst experience I ever had in my entire life. Afrooz didn't even accepted his mistakes, he didn't even had the courtesy of returning the money and offering a compensation and a solution I didn't have the force to fight for it because my face looked deformed with those earlobes. He is shameless. DO NOT PLAY WITH KNIFES. Sadly, my long relationship with other doctors in the office is been affected by this incident. Thanks Afrooz. read more

After a lot of time looking for and visiting Doctors in Miami, I was truly fortunate for to find Dr Afrooz. My situation was unique and complicated because I had a previous rhinoplasty that was done Colombia in 2019. I hated the results of my previous rhino because it was an unnatural looking nose, and it did not go with my facial features. The day I saw the Doctor, he was very patient listening to ALL of my concerns, then he explained to me how and what he could do in my case, he asked questions, he was very honest with me and he made me feel that I was in the right place dealing with a Doctor who is very ethical and professional. I decided to go ahead and do my revised rhinoplasty and some fat transfer in my face. I needed some fat transfer in my face especially in my cheeks and temples, because of my age (34) and genes I lost some volume. The whole process from the beginning until today has been amazing. The recovering was smooth (of course you feel some pain and discomfort, but if you follow Dr. Afrooz recommendations you will be fine and feel better sooner than you think) Today, I am on my 4th week and I can tell you I feel beautiful again, my husband and very close friends love the way my nose is looking now and everyday I am looking forward to wake up and see how fast my nose is healing. It looks natural and I am happy with the results. Now I am starting to feel more confident and secure. I do not need to waste time criticizing myself, instead I am focusing all my energy in growing my business and doing things that I love to do with friends and family. Dr Afrooz truly is the best. I had contemplated rhinoplasty for several years and had searched for so many doctors, including some in L.A. who are purportedly "the best" in the business. However, none left me feeling like I had found the right doctor. As soon as I met Dr Afrooz, I knew he was the one. He struck the right balance of listening to my objectives but helping me interpret what it is I needed to achieve the result I was looking for. I had a slightly complicated case but he completely exceeded all of my expectations. He is a complete pro and perfectionist - yet, down to earth and patient-focused. I was never treated like a number. I'm only 3 weeks out and the result is better than I could have ever wanted. It's natural, maintains a masculine look, and fits my face proportionally. The staff and patient coordinators were also amazing and made the entire journey easy and comfortable. I can't recommend Dr Afrooz enough.
